Great location to explore the area nearby. The hotel looked fairly clean. There is no noise coming from the main road. The quality of the breakfast food is average, but even if it was a breakfast buffet, it was nice to get table service from the restaurant staff.

Amazing service at reception. Had a slight issue with the room booked through Trip.com, so the hotel provided free breakfast as a bonus (breakfast buffet was fantastic!). Room was clean and comfortable, but very difficult to hold a WiFi connection in the room (had to stand in the bathroom to get any usable WiFi). Had a good stay and would recommend to other West Highland Way walkers looking to treat themselves to a hotel stay on the way.

As I entered my room, I noticed that the waste bin was full and obviously had forgotten to be emptied, but this was remedied very quickly

The room was large and clean and the front desk reception was pleasant and helpful. The hotel lounge and dining areas were large and bright. The decor was drab and dated with extensive use of ugly carpet and wallpaper everywhere. The bizarre shower mixing valve arrangement resulted in the bath tub filling up very fast when taking a shower. The pivoting glass shower door/deflector arrangement made it difficult to impossible to keep shower spray from ending up on the bathroom floor. The bathroom door had no proper handle/latch/lock for privacy and was only held closed with a magnet. Finding parking was a horror story. All regular spots were taken and what was left was utter chaos. Everyone else had just improvised and parked wherever they could find a spot along the drive, on the grass etc... Wi-Fi did not work throughout the ENTIRE stay. The reception staff indicated that the router was likely "overloaded". They reset the router but it didn't help. There were no physical LAN drops in the room either. We paid 20 pounds for a breakfast that was at first non-existent (buffet style - almost empty to empty warmers). When we entered the dining area there were few people but many...most tables covered with dirty dishes, cutlery etc...After an extended wait food trickled out. In the mean time we had to search for the coffee (INSTANT coffee made en-masse). The actual food offerings were ok once they appeared but many items were reheated pre-packaged items and there were almost no heathy (fruit, plain yogurt etc...) options.

I enjoyed my stay and the staff were excellent, always willing to help and very friendly. My main complaint was the food, breakfast was good but barely warm and the plates were stone cold which only made worse. We had two evening meals, one was a buffet which was awful, the fish was smelly and the chicken tasteless. Our second meal was the steak night, the veg' was nice but the steak very tough. We ate elsewhere 5 of our 7 day stay.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms are dated but comfortable. Warm water. Quiet location. Hot food was not very warm. Could be kept warmer.

Lots of parking and small hiking routes nearby. Nothing as far as pubs bars nearby but was quite happy in the hotel bar. Didn't eat there so can't comment on that. Certainly a good choice for the area. Hotel room was huge and confy. Shower and facilities was lovely

Hi, there where multiple problems that makes the value for money not good at all. The place The parking policy is really weird : you need to park anywhere you can find space, as the actual parking is too small. I'm pretty sure that the amenities where nice... 30 years ago. The cleanliness was also really just OK, by example the carpet is really old and dusty... The staff was also not really friendly except for the hostess at our arrival, whom we have not met after. Wifi In this area the 4G network is really poor, we were then happy to use the hotel's wifi, but it is not OK at all. At the end, it was really complicated to plan our trails, as they do not provide any map or information. Dinner By email, I had contact in advance to organise the dinner, they inform my about an all you can eat buffet for 25£, but actually it was a 3 courses meal in place of the buffet. We have waited a long time to try to order and finally decided to go to eat outside, also the drinks had to be retrieved from the bar 2 floors below. Antony

Great deep bath and plenty hot water Dining buffet was a set price - no flexibility for those wishing to take less than 3 courses Ran out of eggs at breakfast buffet and lack of staffing meant we had to wait which follows that our food became cold so we ended up going elsewhere for brekkie

Good staff great location hotel could do with some money spending on it looking a bit run down

Had an overnight stay at Muthu Ben Doran in Tyndrum. Looks like the hotel is in the process of being redecorated which is probably a good thing, as the inside of the hotel does look tired and dated. Service was good though and the staff seemed welcoming enough.

Great location, great valve for money and a nice big friendly hotel
