Booked this Travelodge to stay overnight for a wedding we were attending at Bristol Golf Club. Allocated room 24, checked the mattress topper and as you can see from photo 1, a very big stain. Was then allocated another room, before giving us the key, the supervisor checked this room 22 and said everything was fine, we checked the mattress topper in this room, stains on this one too, last 4 photos. Housekeeping changed the bedding in this room, we would have left, but we had nowhere else to stay, we had a wedding to attend. After the wedding we dropped off another guest to Mollies hotel which was next door, the car park was all lit up and very welcoming and it was full. We went back to the Travelodge and the car park had no lighting, was pitch black, if I as a woman was on my own, I would not have felt safe, never in all the years of staying at a Travelodge have we ever arrived at their car park in pitch black with no car park lighting. When we got home, I emailed Travelodge customer service and said that we are going to Bristol again at the end of May and if we booked another Travelodge, could they guarantee that we would not receive stained mattress toppers again. We And this was their reply below ***All of our rooms should be cleaned thoroughly before anyone checks into them. I am sorry that the mattress topper had sweat stains on them. We have shared your feedback about the cleanliness levels with our hotel colleagues so that the team can make sure they are improved. As we are unable to issue a brand new topper for the mattress, I cannot promise that they will not have sweat stains on them.*** Just to ask you, the public, do the stains look like sweat stains to you? How can they not guarantee, for you as a customer to have a clean mattress topper, what has happened to Travelodge, their standards have dropped dramatically !! And because of this we will never stay at a Travelodge ever again
