Hotel Dambulla dengan Spa

I would say this is a very good 4.5 star hotel. I was very impressed snd would definitely choose this hotel again. The scenery was amazing and rooms were very clean. I only wish all my hotel picks were this good.

We came for my mother’s birthday. She was very happy regarding all. Overall staff were friendly and awesome. Specially restaurant service was outstanding. Specially Ishan at the restaurant. Chef deepal personally talked with us and food is delicious. Mix noodles and toast at the restaurant were fabulous. GRE Amanda you helped us lot. Thank you.

As someone who has visited quite a few places abroad and locally, I have never visited the hotel that was so well thought out from construction and where the owners put a lot of love and care into the creation of the property. That is tremendously let down by the distasteful lack of service and cost cutting by the management company, which in this case is Thilanka. Starting off with the welcome, the security attendant was not bothered and just directed us to another place. No welcome towels or ease of check in. As a local group we were treated as some sort of unwanted vagabonds. Upon check in, out of 6 rooms, 5 were checked in and a single was not. The front office manager Hasintha was rude and just said hotel policy is 2 pm check in. He did not offer any apology, any reason and he didn't make any effort to correct the situation. When we went to the rooms there was no linen, no bath mats, no amenities. We informed the reception and they reverted that the linen was in the laundry so therefore there aren't any towels! We made it a point to inform the GM and to try and rectify the situation. He did get the housekeeping to provide the linen. Along with a few amenities and this was appreciated. However this was followed up with even shoddier service from the hotel staff. The lunch was a cheap cost cutting approach of just a sri lankan lunch, with barely any meats. The same can be said for the breakfast, which was mediocre. The place is very overstaffed, but nobody is actually doing anything or making an actual effort. The management don't seem to be concerned. The 24 hour reception seemed to be closed at 10 30 pm. We were yelling for a staff member and a dishevelled individual came out, we requested for some water and he just informed they had run out of water! We were obviously irate so we started making a fuss, at which point he called the housekeeping department and we suddenly got water. The next day when we asked for toothpaste or a dental kit they informed they don't provide those. However for the foreigners they are provided with all the necessary amenities. I understand if they don't want to stock it, but if you call the reception and ask for a dental kit, it is completely unprofessional to refuse and just state that they don't issue them. The good things are about the property is the maintenance and the landscaping. However the service and food is what really destroys the reputation Its dissapointing because the property looks like it was a great property that is ruined by bad management. Cheap ideas like cutting off the air conditioning in the restaurant and just switching on the fans and opening the windows in the scorching weather is just short term gains, and affecting the future of the property. The construction and fittings have been done with care. However the property staff needs to have a major change in their approach to customer service.

Kalundewa retreat is a beutiful place designed preserving the nature. The service provided is also as expected and the food was also tasty. Staff is also nice and friendly and is always available for anything you need. We stayed at karanda chalet and the chalet was also spacious enough. The garden is also well maintained and overall it’s a beutiful place. Few recommendations that is better if done. 1. On top of the karanda chalet outdoor pool it’s a tree with lots of bats. As nature calls their feces also sometimes fall into the pool and a lot of leaves too fall into the pool. We are very happy to see the pool in the middle of nature but having a dip and swimming in that outdoor pool is a bit risky.. so we didnt swim. If you can please clean the pool as much as possible before the guests arrive and try to come up with an idea to cover the pool when not in use. 2. So many glasses at karanda chalet are at a location that is not possible to clean daily.. clean them as much as possible and try to clean the outdoor glass doors before the next guest arrives ( so they have a crystal clear view through the glasses) 3. When we arrived a lot of leaves were fallen on the outdoor deck and the day bed cushions were not cleaned. I understand that according to the location of the karanda chalet if is very hard to keep it clean with the monkeys and the massive amount of large trees on top of it but I feel you can give a bit more effort to clean and keep to give a good looking first impression about the chalet to the guests. Please clean the outdoor day bed cushions and keep them separately so the guests can use them when needed ( otherwise the monkeys sit on them and make it dirty) 4. Bathroom is nice but being a five star hotel the bathroom amneties could have been of better quality. When ever possible please replace them to a luxury category. Also please keep up with your service. We had a nice stay there.

We had a very relaxing stay, the hotel is beautiful as are all the staff. The buffet meals were great especially the fresh cooked while you watch - rice and noodle dishes, and the banana fritters. I would like to mention how lovely Nirasha Rathnayake is, she is a knowledgable local young lady from Kandy who is studying Hotel, Hospitality management. Nirasha spoke fluent English, she is very friendly, kind and helpful. We wish you well with your studies and hope you love your chosen career.

Since I had entered the hotel, the staff had been very helpful and friendly. Everytime I ask them for something, they would respond fast and help with whatever the task is. Then how they talk is also very friendly and respectful. Their service had been way greater than that of what you would expect. Furthermore, talking about one of the most important facts, the food. Well, the food had been very clean, well served and had been healthy as well; it had been always fresh. Then the buffet has a good variety of food ranging from Sri Lankan to foreign food. Then the rooms had been very clean and well maintained, it had been very comfortable, not the most luxurious but it is way worth the money. The atmosphere was great, it was surrounded by the nature from all sides, it had a great swimming pool good for all heights as the deepest side is 2m and the shortest 2ft. The water is very clean. Thus, this would be one of the few hotels that I would personally recommend to someone. This hotel helped create life long memories that's unforgettable with my family. The lodges are set among gardens and lakes with views over to Sigiriya. The quality of the rooms (lounge, bedroom and deck) was stunning. Our butler, Diman Kawshika swapped WhatsApp numbers and was always on hand to organise things for us. He was professional, attentive and always had a smile on his face. The quality of the restaurant was perfect. Plenty of Sri Lanka and international dishes with space to eat inside or outside. We only stayed 2 nights here on a tour but could easily imagine escaping here for a longer winter break. The hotel can organise plenty of activities locally, there's space to walk/cycle and a great gym/spa. I highly recommend starting the day with a yoga session with Rikki in the yoga pavilion, which looks out on water and has monkeys and peacocks milling around. Rikki’s a brilliant teacher and the yoga was different to yoga I’ve done at home. There’s more emphasis on breathing (something I’m a bit lazy about) and I felt like I was using my core differently. When you’ve got a busy itinerary there’s a lot of pressure to eat breakfast and be in the car by 9am, but starting the day with yoga/meditation was one of the highlights of my trip to Sri Lanka. I was so spaced out after one session I forgot how to unlock my phone (which is no small feat, since my face unlocks it)! Another day a monkey came to watch. I’d go back to Water Garden just for the yoga. Wonderful hotel fully deserving of its high feedback
