Pelham House Resort

We stayed at Pelham on Maine. It's a "renovated" motel. The stay wasn't good at all, the rooms smell so bad like if someone had thrown up and no one cleaned it properly. When I called after the stay to talk to the hotel Manager, they were extremely rude. If you're looking for a subpar stay, sure, but if you're looking for a more elevated experience nothing will beat Chatham Bars Inn.

On the whole, a very nice resort. A little pricey perhaps. Rooms are nice with a sea view. I was a little disappointed in the fact that there were no bathrobes in the room. Also, no food in the morning (opens at 11 am). There’s a nice rooftop lounge/restaurant but I was a little shocked by the prices ($18 for a glass of wine). Would I stay there again! Yes..

Had a great time. The staff were very friendly, courteous, and attentive. The food was delicious, and the pool and beach areas were also very nice. All in all a very nice stay. Stayed for two nights on a gift from our daughter and son in law. It was a very relaxing getaway.....

This resort is top notch in every way. Stayed here Friday - Sunday for a wedding. The grounds are gorgeous. The rooms were very spacious, updated and clean. The only downside of the room was the size of the bathroom area. The resort has a beautiful pool area, several excellent options for food with poolside and beachside service. Location is great- off the beaten path in a nice quiet neighborhood. One set of stairs leads down to a private beach. The best part of the experience was the staff - they were all friendly, helpful and attentive.

We came in for a wedding. Service was excellent including text updates. Bar staff and wait staff around the pool were excellent. Large room was great.... Wonderful views of pool beach and ocean from large balcony, very clean and updated with all amenities; hairdryer, iron. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was a little small (queen room). All rooms are accessed from out door covered walkways. We were on 3rd floor and despite a large wedding crowd it was very quiet. Black out blinds were the best. Parking was a little tough The only downside was the rates! Two night minimum and 800-900 a night. But it was the perfect setting for a wedding.

This was a last minute trip. There was one room left. I wasn’t expecting it to be that great but it was wonderful! View of the Sound and pool, with cute balcony (useful for drying swimsuits). Our experience was great! The hotel, rooms and grounds are clean and well maintained. Our room was already serviced when we returned from breakfast (a very short drive away). Everyone we encountered was, as other reviews noted, helpful, warm and welcoming. I traveled with two children and we were accommodated above and beyond. Not sure what the issue was with the parking lot. Another reviewer found it tough to navigate but we had no problem in our SUV. Yes, the spaces are tight, as they often are in small lots, but there was plenty of parking available. Plus, if it was a problem for you, you could valet. Pool was kept very clean during our 4 day stay. Beach is private, down some stairs, but you can wander on to other beaches on either side of Pelham’s. Very handy foot shower upon return. We had absolutely no complaints and were sad to leave. The Rooftop restaurant on site was dramatic and beautiful. Great food and service. Very kind to, and indulgent of, children! My kids repeated “We love this place. Thank you for taking us here!” over our entire visit. Big smiles. Will definitely return. Sweet to hear the waves at night. We were on ground floor but had no problem with noise (as mentioned by other guests). Very happy we chose Pelham. S
