Stables Ashbourne

Nice place, very clean, friendly staff throughout and great breakfast. We opted to book our evening meal at the pub/restaurant attached to the Stables bedroom suite conversions allowing us to have a walkabout around Ashbourne first. The evening meal food was great and staff as mentioned very friendly and polite but a small downer [only small] was the wait for food! We have no problem in going again the rooms are better than expected or imagined from the photos.

We stayed in a superior double room which was extremely comfortable and well appointed. The bed was certainly superior in size and comfort. We loved the quiet air con which kept the temperature stable in the day and cool for sleeping. The bathroom was luxurious with handy low level lighting which switched on and off automatically in the night, thus not disturbing anyone. The room was immaculately clean with snowy white towels. There were thoughtful touches included such as fresh milk in the fridge and homemade shortbread. Towels were changed each morning and all items consumed were replaced. Even though the room was dual aspect, the plush curtains blocked out any early morning daylight. All staff were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating and our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. The food next door at the Bowling Green was excellent and obviously freshly cooked. Would thoroughly recommend

Lovely, cosy room with massive, comfy bed. The hot tub was great on the balcony and was ready to use straight away. As others have said, you can hear the road a bit but it wasn't an issue, especially later on. We looked out onto the trees so felt like we were in a luxurious tree house. The adjoining pub was great for dinner and breakfast too and very handily placed. A great, little place for a relaxing night away.

Lovely place, room was beautiful, very clean, nice personalised note on the bed. Stocked fridge with milk, water and coke on the house, hot tub stays on for the duration or the stay which was amazing. Pub next door sells gorgeous food, breakfast was top. Came away for our 10 year anniversary! Looking to go back for my 30th in January but for two nights instead of one this time!

Stayed in room 1 for one night to celebrate a birthday - it was the suite, ground floor with terrace and hot tub. They put balloons and petals in the room as it was a special occasion. The room was spotless and beautiful. Huge comfortable bed, air con, powerful shower and the hot tub was ready when we arrived - this was perfect as we'd been walking the Peak District all day. Parking was not a problem. Had room service for drinks and then breakfast - both arrived quickly and with great service. The bowling green pub next door does great food so highly recommend for dinner! As others mentioned the traffic noise can be a bit distracting if you're trying to have a soak in the day but we were chatting so didn't really notice that much. It's a hill walk down into Ashbourne but within a few minutes you're in the town centre with shops and cafes. The tissington trail in a couple of minutes walk away too and Dovedale is 10 minute drive so also walkable if you've got a proper map!

Really lovely little hotel, very well done. Next door to a lovely pub with good food and very friendly staff. We only stayed one night whilst attending a wedding nearby, but would definitely stay again. Very convenient location for Ashbourne.
