Waidroka Bay Resort

We just spent a week at Waidroka Resort with our family, including three older teenagers. As we prefer a peaceful, more relaxed atmosphere over bustling resorts, Waidroka was the perfect choice. Set in a stunning location surrounded by lush tropical gardens, the resort offered an idyllic setting. The staff were exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. The resort caters to a variety of interests, with activities suited to all levels of adventure, from scuba diving and snorkeling to surfing and stand-up paddleboarding. Highlights included river tubing, surfing and the Beqa lagoon shark dive. We will leave here feeling full relaxed and replenished. The pool area is the perfect place to laze away the afternoons. Will definitely be back!

Wananavu!!! Fantastic. As a family of 4 with 2 late teens in tow, this was not the place we would normally pick, but our trusted travel agent suggested it and, on checking the place on line and sussing out the reviews we went for it. So glad we did. After 5 days doing very little on Matamanoa Island the second part of our trip was more about getting amongst it and that was Waidroka. It's a super chilled and relaxing environment with a strong sense of community. The seaside location is secluded, nestled in the rain forest. The staff are very helpful, friendly and always willing to do what they can to make your stay memorable. Clean and tidy, comfortable. We put our two kids through their open water dive certificates before we left Perth, Australia, and enjoyed coral dives and, the highlight of our trip to Fiji, two shark dives. Wow! The dive masters and boat captain made us feel safe and at ease. Great fresh and healthy food food. Super friendly staff. Relaxed and chilled vibe. Clean and comfortable with a sense of freedom to do as you please. Great place to meet people if you want, or you can take the time on your own as you choose. Accessible to other activities, and we feel the experience with River Tubing Fiji, as well as Zip Fiji were well and truly worth it. Both were great with the river tubing a must. Waidroka is a small adventure and boutique resort immediately creating a ‘Home-away-from-Home’ atmosphere for all, where they share their love for Fiji and the amazing Fijian people, combined with being a basis for adventure with some of Fiji’s best scuba diving. Definitely the coral capital of the world. Waidroka’s local staff has a passion for making the place a special and uniquely memorable experience. The diving in Beqa and shark diving and surfing and Yoga, are all great experiences which kept us busy and relaxed. The Waidroka experience was perfect for everybody in our family. Funnest part at the end of the day was when we shared stories amongst all at the joint dinner tables. We were all touched by the Waidroka spirit and most importantly by the amazing staff. Every year my brother and I take our young adult kids to a scuba diving place somewhere in the world different. This time was the first place everyone said they definitely wanted to come back again and soon. I would like to thank the amazing cooking staff that knew our names before we arrived the made eat meal a wonderful teat. Thank You :)

My wife and I stayed at Waidroka Bay Resort for some quality time together, surfing, snorkeling, and just chilling. Our stay was even better than we expected. The staff were awesome—super friendly and always ready to help us out. Our surf guide, Tim, was a total legend, fun and really helpful. The food was amazing, with a great variety of healthy and tasty options. We loved hanging out for Happy Hour on the porch and having meals 'family style' with the staff and other guests. If you're not into those big "5 Star" resorts and want an adventure spot with surfing, diving, and snorkeling, this is definitely the place to be.

The waidroka bay resort was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I was fortunate to come across this incredibly beautiful place through my PADI certification. Not only did I feel thoroughly cared for from the moment I reached out (2 days before arrival), but the staff’s attentiveness and support began before I arrived. Giving me suggestions on places to complete my PADI confined pool dives prior to arrival. Once at Waidroka, the scenary and grounds are well-kept and located on a gorgeous bay/inlet. Everyone was so kind and attentive to me. From checking in to checking out, it was the perfect trip. I completed my PADI cert with Jamie as my instructor. She was caring, supportive and reassuring, always giving me the belief that I could complete the dives. So much so, that the day after I completed my cert, I did the shark dives at Pacific Harbour nearby! Although Jamie was my instructor, I interacted daily and had wonderful conversations and received great tips from everyone at the resort from Ops Managers (Beth and Sandy) to other instructors (Grant, Tim, Simi). Jim was our boat captain, and i had the utmost respect for his ability to guide us to the appropriate dive site. I learned so much about medicinal plants in the area with our medicine walk, fijian culture with Taniela, and how to effectively dive with the whole dive team. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were expertly prepared, and the food was perfectly cooked. Special shoutout to the chefs at the incredible 3 course dinners we received and the best tomato bisque I have ever had. I would strongly recommend looking at Waidroka Bay Resort if you are looking to dive or surf in Fiji, what an unbelievable experience and entire staff at the resort.

Great trip. It was 10 days of diving, 2 or 3 guided dives a day. The weather was cooperative and the staff took great care of me, both the dive and resort staff. The two shark dives were awesome. This is my second trip to Waidroka in 9 years. I can't speak to the surfing or fishing, but those guests seemed to enjoy their time too.
