Waidroka Bay Resort

Waidroka was exactly what I was looking for - beautiful, peaceful views, yummy food, a lovely mangrove tour, diving and freediving, and free yoga. The yoga was honestly the best guided yoga I've ever had, and I walked away feeling refreshed and ready to start a very busy month. Stay at this location if you're looking for the seclusion of a beautiful rainforest and ocean views. The staff were amazing and I had lots of good conversations - the other guests were also lovely to chat with. I'd stay here again any time!

We stayed 4 days and had an amazing, relaxing, exhilarating experience! My partner got to surf his heart out. The staff is second to none. We stayed in an oceanfront bure and it was fantastic. Private, beautiful, comfortable bed, strong A/C.

Wananavu!!! Fantastic. As a family of 4 with 2 late teens in tow, this was not the place we would normally pick, but our trusted travel agent suggested it and, on checking the place on line and sussing out the reviews we went for it. So glad we did. After 5 days doing very little on Matamanoa Island the second part of our trip was more about getting amongst it and that was Waidroka. It's a super chilled and relaxing environment with a strong sense of community. The seaside location is secluded, nestled in the rain forest. The staff are very helpful, friendly and always willing to do what they can to make your stay memorable. Clean and tidy, comfortable. We put our two kids through their open water dive certificates before we left Perth, Australia, and enjoyed coral dives and, the highlight of our trip to Fiji, two shark dives. Wow! The dive masters and boat captain made us feel safe and at ease. Great fresh and healthy food food. Super friendly staff. Relaxed and chilled vibe. Clean and comfortable with a sense of freedom to do as you please. Great place to meet people if you want, or you can take the time on your own as you choose. Accessible to other activities, and we feel the experience with River Tubing Fiji, as well as Zip Fiji were well and truly worth it. Both were great with the river tubing a must. I arrived a bit unwell and they went out of there way to help my recovery. Sota Tale... see you again. Thank you Waidroka Bay Resort.

Highly recommend Waidroka Bay Resort. An amazing location with beautiful scenery, great surf breaks nearby, super welcoming team and great food. As a solo traveller was made to feel part of the family, everyone was so nice and chilled out.

If you have any reservations about staying here, take this as your sign to just do it! The diving was phenomenal as was the staff. I came as a solo female to Fiji the first time and felt very at home, accommodated, and completely safe. The staff were so friendly and I felt that there were always people to interact with if I wanted to despite being by myself. The food was the absolute best I’ve ever had at any resort, surpassing any 5 star resort I’ve been to. As a biologist, I really appreciated that one of the dive masters was an ichthyologist, and was able to talk about various underwater species in great detail. I felt that this was a unique and cool experience that I haven’t seen at another dive resort. I was safely able to travel around the country with an excellent guide they recommended and got to see everything I wanted. It was absolutely a beautiful island paradise and the online pictures don’t do it justice. This resort truly exceeded my expectations and I can’t recommend it enough!

This is a lovely place with very cute accommodations and beautiful tropical landscaping. The diving and divemasters were exceptional and the hotel staff were very warm, friendly and welcoming people. However, walking into that main building from the gorgeous surroundings outside was like walking into a cheap cafeteria with the bright floodlights. DIM DOWN THE DAMN LIGHTS!!! It's all you have to do to give the place a bit of ambiance which would make a world of difference.
