The staff make you feel very special without being to intrusive and as for the chef the food is absolutely sublime . Absolute knockout of a spot. Unbelievably tranquil place to stay with genuine and lovely staff who could not have been more helpful, rooms super clean and luxuriously comfy, relaxed vibe, best homemade bread ever, amazing food, a real haven. 1000 times worth the detour, an inspiring and peaceful place to stay.

Everything about our five night stay at Newhall Mains was simply extraordinary: the cottage was charming, roomy, and beautifully decorated. Euan, the owner and all the staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The dining experience was incredible as they have a magnificent chef in residence. Rebecca set up our transport to and from Edinburgh with JD and Richard, who are both wonderful, and Richard also took us on a few day excursions; his knowledge of Scotland and the area made those trips so much more fascinating . If you go to Scotland, make sure you head up to Newhall Mains to experience this one-of-a-kind gem!

Simply Superb! Excellent staff, amazing food and great location with so much to do. The Irene Cottage was everything we could have wished for and more. Perfect way to celebrate our Anniversary! Will definitely be back and hopefully for a longer stay next time. Maybe even go flying!!

Nestled away in the Highlands this absolute gem cozy haven is to be found. We visited this weekend for a special birthday treat and found, first class service, delicious food, amazing views and all reasonably priced. Could not recommend highly enough for a wonderful day out and can’t wait to revisit for the evening menu. Thank you so much for a delightful visit. Nosy round the grounds highly recommended.

Our second visit, we thought it was fabulous first time round but even better this time. The new lounge area and the restuarant added since our last visit are fabulous. A fantastic place to stay and relax. A fabulous experience and the staff were all incredibly helpful. We will definitely be back, sooner rather than later.

We spent two fabulous nights at this sumptuous hotel on the Black Isle. The staff were all charming and couldn’t do enough to be of help. The interiors are exquisite and the grounds are impeccably kept. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant both nights which was very good indeed. We were only sad that our stay was so short as we would have liked to explore the area in more depth. We were given a complimentary upgrade to one of the lovely cottages which was a real treat. My husband enjoyed a local tour on one of the hotel’s e-bikes.

A wonderful peaceful stay. Thanks Chris for your hospitality. The rooms are new, clean and lovely. Dinner was fantastic, great wine recommendation. Lovely touches such as the fire pit in the courtyard for an early evening drink. Highly recommended.

Staff excellent. Food excellent. Rooms excellent. Grounds excellent. JD gave us recommendations for hikes and scenic driving routes which were outstanding. We did the Isle of Skye excursion with Richard who was very knowledgeable on the history and geography. I would highly recommend staying here will stay again in the future. Thank you Euan!!
