Definitely sub- standard accommodation. We stayed one night and were desperate to leave by the following morning. Rooms are tiny, bed very uncomfortable, bed linen belonged to another era, and shower was uncontrollable. Won’t be returning!

This place is NOT a bed and breakfast. I booked through *******. When we arrived at the property no one was there to meet and greet and explain everything. A note had been left on the door. The rooms were tiny, old and uncomfortable. The linen was circa 1970. We found out very quickly that breakfast was NOT provided. The whole set up was most unsatisfactory. In my view the type of accommodation is seriously misrepresented. In fact I would say that it is close to fraud because when I said I didn't want to toake the booking my credit card was charged nevertheless. The place is substandard. The walls are thin. The rooms are tiny. The beds are uncomfortable. There was no room for out luggage. We were there for 15 minutes when we decided to quit the place. To be avoided at all costs.

They are listed as a 3-star hotel on *******, but according to themselves, they are a small guesthouse with strict check-in rules—you cannot check in after 7 pm. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were supposed to arrive around 1 am. We called, and they said that after 10 pm, it was impossible to check in. We had to change our trip itinerary, cancel our trip to Loch Ness, pay a higher fee for a better hotel in Loch Lomond, and travel to the Isle of Skye half a day earlier than planned. We filed a report with ******* for a refund, which was denied by the business (according to *******). A place is called a hotel due to its 24/7 services; as a person who has traveled extensively throughout the United States and most of Asia, this was new to me. As someone who teaches hospitality and tourism, I very well know hotel and guesthouse operations. Their practice is not only fraudulent but also far away from basic hospitality principles, especially considering we were distressed travelers in a foreign country. I am thankful to my bank for accepting our dispute claim, which was a small relief in the face of this awful business practice. To my fellow guides and travelers, avoid this shady business and its nasty attitude by selecting somewhere else to stay—in a REAL hotel. It is unfortunate that ******* not only offers such products but also does nothing to advocate for your rights when dealing with such awful business practices. I would call ******* a partner in crime in this case. I strongly recommend NOT using Aslaich’s or Expedia's service for accommodation in the Loch Ness area.

It’s not written but there is no breakfast in the Bed & Breakfast. We looked this kind of accommodation to have the breakfast before starting the day, but there is no breakfast. The bed is not really comfortable but it was fine for 2 nights. We were lucky as we had the room with the private bathroom so we didn’t have to cross the hall. We didn’t see the host. The room and bathroom were really clean. It’s really close to Urquart’s castle.

Disappointing. Was more like a hostel than a bed-and-breakfast. First, there’s no breakfast! For £70/$86 they should provide at least juices, pastries, etc. No refunds, & bathroom was across hall (no en suite). Never met the hosts, was greeted by a note on the door. Otherwise facilities were clean, comfortable bed and small but functional shower. Convenient to Great Glen Way walkers but not to the center of town, about a mile away. Can not recommend.
