Very clean and friendly hotel, excellent place to base oneself when visiting Dumfries.
Breakfast is outstanding and very generous.
Susan and her staff are courteous and helpful with very useful advice.
Rooms are spacious and the ensuites are 1st class.

Paid £82 for one night inc breakfast , good points , breakfast was good and bed was actually comfortable, minus was the decor , it was like being back in the 1970s , got woke up with the beer garden noise after midnight , not to mention the toilet system that was making huge noise when you flushed all night through , sorry , will never ever ever ever be back

Room was filthy, bathroom had mold in the shower and dirt in the vent, toilet dirty and no bathroom door. Cup was also dirty. Really run down inside. Very noisy, single glazing with 2 beer gardens directly underneathe. The place should be shut down, or at least inspected by environmental health.

A very good stay in the White Hart. Whilst it appears a bit run down our bedroom was large and clean and the enormous bed comfortable. The shower was brilliant and the breakfast excellent. Highly recommended if you’re on a tight budget. Dumfries was very nice to spend an afternoon shopping and looking around. There’s no shortage of pubs, restaurants and coffee shops in this lovely town where you get a friendly Scottish welcome.

First things first.....it's not the Ritz but for what I paid via Agoda , probably the best value for money I've spent for an overnight stay.I travelled to Bolton to buy a car for my wife and needed an overnight stay before heading home.Reviews I read to be fair were mostly accurate ....in need of a bit of TLC but my room was clean....I had a great and comfortable sleep.....in the morning, breakfast was exceptional...I just wanted somewhere overnight for a rest etc..... thoroughly enjoyed it.... very friendly service and staff.

Not in an area you would like to stay. The rooms were very dated, mouldy and dirty. We stayed in the hotel about 5 mins. We booked booked elsewhere asap. The man behind the bar was very polite. The reviews i read was ok.

Yes the hotel looks dated and the area is down by the River but the welcome is genuine and the owner and staff are very attentive. The breakfast as others have noted is very very good indeed. The Inn is old and the rooms reflect this but it was warm clean and the bed was super with lovely pillows and a vicious shower!! I slept so well and was not disturbed by the musician but heard the seagulls. The pub stays open late but thats fine as it appears quite usual in Dumfries and perhaps Scotland in general. A lovely stay and one i hope to repeat very soon. Thank you to the owner for her welcome.
