Quite decent, spacious and clean, friendly staff. It seems like there’s been some time since it was last renovated but everything is very well maintained and in working condition. Hot breakfast was okay, it was fun to cook my own waffle.

Only let down was the breakfast - waited 10 mins for hot food and as pics show was raw - paid for bed and breakfast only got bed I’m afraid I couldn’t eat after seeing that

We recently stayed at the Hampton by Hilton Dundee City Centre for three days, and the experience was underwhelming. From the moment we checked in, the issues began.
The room was unclean, with carpets that hadn’t been vacuumed properly and dust covering the side tables. To add to the frustration, the phone was missing its cord, so we had to use our mobile phone to call reception. The bed was uncomfortable, and despite trying to check out and move to another hotel, I couldn’t get a refund due to booking through Trip.com, which didn’t allow for cancellations.
The morning buffet was repetitive, offering the exact same selection every day with no variety. While the front desk staff were supportive, one particular staff member in a suit and tie was incredibly unprofessional. He ignored us, looked at us disrespectfully, and even laughed at us with another staff member during breakfast. When he realized I noticed, he quickly walked away. This behavior was unacceptable, especially from someone who appeared to be in a managerial position. Respect should be given to all guests, regardless of their ethnicity.
Parking was another inconvenience, costing £10 per day. On our last day, there was barely any parking available, and you also need to ensure your vehicle is LEZ compliant, or you’ll incur additional charges.
The bathroom was dirty upon check-in, with hardly any tissue provided. We were told housekeeping wasn’t available at night, so we had to wait until the following day for it to be cleaned. Adding to the chaos, the fire alarm went off unexpectedly, causing unnecessary panic. On top of this, some guests were excessively noisy, and the wall where the TV was kept shaking for unknown reasons.
Overall, this stay was far below expectations. While a few staff members were helpful, the lack of cleanliness, comfort, and respect from certain individuals made it a disappointing experience. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless significant improvements are made to their service and facilities.
