Stanbrook Abbey Hotel, Worcester

We were visiting the nearby Sixways Stadium (for which this hotel was very convenient) and also celebrating a special birthday in our family. The hotel suggested the walker package they offer, which includes stay, meal and packed lunch the following day. With four of us in one room it would have been a tight squeeze but we would have managed. The hotel kindly upgraded us to a suite with more room. This was perfect! It was spacious and well appointed with a lovely bathroom. The hotel were very attentive; they phoned beforehand to see if we had any needs/requests and left a chocolate treat and nice message for the birthday boy! The bar service was very attentive and having found out about the birthday, made a special request to the kitchen for our evening meal. We enjoyed a 3 course meal, which was delicious. The ‘request’ was a dessert wishing a happy birthday which was very thoughtful. We had fun playing snooker in the basement which was a little creepy, especially as the hotel was quite quiet! Overall, a lovely stay and would gladly recommend.

From right the beginning Meg at reception was so helpful and explained everything clearly. Always with a smile. Then Guy took our bags up to our room and he was all smiles, explaining everything in the room. It was a lovely bedroom with air conditioning. Lots of pillows and cushions. Bed comfortable and inviting. Great toiletries. We were told there would be complimentary champagne but as we don’t drink alcohol we were given alcohol free beer and loads of fruit juice. Staff went out of their way to help this visit be the wonderful visit it was. The grounds are stunning. We had lots to walk around. Sheep came and send hello. They have tried their best to keep the inside of,the hotel the way it was. Much of the original details of the convent have been treated well and any additions and renovations looked after respectfully. Lots of history to see when wandering the hotel. Quite fascinating. The wood, the stairs, the different rooms. Breakfast was fresh and cooked on the spot for you in the lovely Refectory. Service was great, thanks Ellie and Gracie. We had dinner at George’s bar and Lewis, Rob and Kevin were very attentive and looked after us well. All in all a wonderful stay and thanks everyone.

Called in with visiting family for a drink . Staff were so helpful , we wanted a snack but only something small the waiter Tom , went out of his way to get us a cream tea to share , the scones were delicious with homemade jam that was absolutely gorgeous, we went and had a good look around at the abbey and chapel it’s amazing and so interesting and staff were so accommodating didn’t mind us wandering around everywhere.

Treated my friend to afternoon tea here as it was somewhere she’d always wanted to go. It was lovely. The tea itself was very good, particularly the deserts - yummy. Driving into the Abbey grounds is a delight as it’s such an amazing building, hard to believe that when I first moved to the area it was still occupied by nuns. Do have a wander about as the building is wonderful, even the inside of the nuns powder room is impressive. We plan to go back next summer, lounge outside and soak up the country air

The grand setting of the callow great hall , the grounds, the open and spacious pavilion speak for themselves and are just some of the things that tempted us to view Stanbrook Abbey and as soon as we stepped in and met the people, shoutout to Becca and Ellie, we knew it was the one for us and would be worth the 3 hour drive our friends and family would have to take to get there - given the compliments we received from our guests, they found it worth it! I can't express enough how professional everyone was not only on the day but throughout the planning process. They go above and beyond to give you a stress free and seamless experience and I can't thank the team enough for helping us have the wedding of our dreams. Just incredible!

Our Afternoon Tea was excellent with the most divine food and service. Gorgeous champagne and lovely staff. We highly recommend and look forward to returning. The setting is beautiful and of course and the hotel has a wonderful history to explore.

We had a wonderful wedding at Stanbrook Abbey Hotel on 18th August 2024. The professionalism and organisational skills of the staff are second to non, they are experts in detail. Becca Francis, the organiser and Ellie Appwood, the events coordinator were efficient, thoughtful and very accommodating. The whole staff team at Stanbrook Abbey Hotel worked together to over a seamless experience and created a memorable day. All our guests were very impressed by the professionalism of the staff and how they went about their roles in an unobtrusive manor. Thank you, Stanbrook Abbey Hotel.

We had our wedding at Stanbrook Abbey a couple of weeks ago and the combination of the venue and staff gave us the most incredible day which we will remember for ever. The venue is beautiful and we chose to eat in the Callow Great Hall. The food and drink are some of the best. We loved the rural setting/location. Jodie was highly responsive and organised throughout the planning process which helped to make the arrangements come together. Clyde did the most amazing job the day before and on the day of the wedding making it come to life and be a success - he was passionate and extremely flexible. One downside / point of note that I was quite surprised by is no professional microphone system in the abbey. Personally I don’t think you can successfully hold a large wedding without one so you will need to sort this yourselves… we brought our own in at the last minute which just about did the job, but far from ideal. I’m summary, I would highly recommend this venue to anyone.
