Blinkbonny House

Blinkbonny House will be my first choice of any visit I make to Scotland. Host communication before our arrival was excellent, and our host graciously prepared a light super when we arrived starving! Our room was perfect and the bathroom surprisingly large. Breakfast (both mornings) was delicious and right on time. Our host helped us navigate our sight seeing with maps, brochures, advice & a quite handy bus stop. Blinkbonny House is located near 2 parks (gardens), as you walk to the bus stop.

it was the first time in edingburgh and the xperience was a lot of joy shaun gave the feeling we are special. A lovely place to stay in the first place because of the friendly host owner Sean. We had a beauriful room for two nights, very lovely tastfull room and a great bathroom. We Love the breakfast. very tasty. I love the tea so much. . the owners wher very helpfull, with the advices for dinner , shopping . we hat a lot of nice chats. the area is good locacated to the towncentre of Edingburg because the nearby busses. take 10 minutes to take you there. we look forward the next time vist

Warm welcome, family run, friendly little b&b. Very clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was always superb whether it was a fry up or porridge. Off road parking was a bonus. Sean the host was a lovely man who I’ve no doubt would do all he could to make his guests happy. Advice for the host would be to invest in some new bedding and bath towels as those he has are past their best - all was spotlessly clean, just a bit tired and old. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed with the Blinkbonny House for a total of 6 nights. The breakfast was carefully prepared per individual request and the room and private, ensuite bathroom was gorgeous. Large windows overlooked the lovely back garden and tall, detailed ceilings provided a sense of grandeur. Our room was beautifully decorated with fine wood furniture and a stunningly large mirror over the fireplace. The shower water pressure was divine and the bathroom modern and spacious. The location was perfect for a trip to Sainsbury or to grab a bus into the center of the city. The surrounding neighborhood was quiet, cute and picturesque with neat hedges and well-tended gardens. The hosts were wonderful souls with whom we instantly formed a friendship. They made our stay with the BlinkBonny House so pleasant and safe—like a home-away-from-home with very good friends. We genuinely wanted to spend time chatting and joking with them and we only wish we lived in the UK so we could see them more often. Shaun and Elaine, if you read this, thank you again for your kindness and hospitality. We look forward to when we can stay with you again.

From entering the front door to leaving the Blinkbonny hosts were excellent. Spotless well furnished bedrooms for the family & excellent breakfast will definitely book here if returning to Edinburgh. Mr E Brown

Stayed 2 nights in this delightful B&B. Room was perfect and perfectly cooked breakfast set us up for the day. Used public transport to get in and out of city centre which can be accessed at bottom of road. What can one say about Shaun that has not been said before. A charming host who made us feel so welcome. Next time we are in Edinburgh we shall (if we are lucky to get a reservation) stay in this extremely hospitable establishment.

Looking for somewhere in Edinburgh to stay for 2 nights preferably with parking I seen this b&b on ********** but decided to ring direct to see if there was availability. I booked direct with Mr Blinkbonny House .We arrived and were offered a hot drink there was also tea and coffee making facilities in the room .We had a lovely onsuite room at the back of the house.I would say country cottage style ,wardrobe and draws plenty of storage for clothes etc .the room was very spacious ,quiet, light and warm.Breakfasts both mornings was very well cooked and hot .we had full english ,tea,coffee,juice, toast .There is also off road parking .Our host was very friendly and informative.The location is excellent, buses into the city are cheap and frequent the bus stop being only a few mins walk away.We will definitely stay here again when returning to Edinburgh. My hubby and I stayed here for one night at the end of our road trip coming down from the Scottish Highlands and what a fantastic little find this place was. Situated on a quite street there is free private parking and is around 20 minutes amble into the city centre. Sean the owner met us at the door and made us feel so welcome right from the start, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was on the ground floor at the rear of the property overlooking the garden, it was spacious, immaculately clean and had its own private bathroom. Breakfast was served in a lovely room at the front of the property everything was set out beautifully and the breakfast was superb, Sean offered us Porridge to start with followed by a cooked breakfast which was delicious plus plenty of toast. To say we were well looked after is an understatement, Sean is a truly lovely person and a complete gentleman, we definitely will be returning at some point in the near future and will recommend to friends.

My girlfriend and I stayed for 4 nights and couldn’t have wished for a better stay. Sean greeted us upon arrival and was just so nice from when we arrived to when we left. Our room was clean, spacious, over looked the garden and an adjacent green space. The bed was very comfy and was a king bed so plenty of space. We also had a private bathroom which was very nice. Sean made us a lovely fry up every morning and you can request a time between 7-9 offering good flexibility. We were also able to order food from local places in on those busy days where we didn’t want to venture back into town and we’re able to use the dining room. The accommodation is a 20 minute walk from Edinburgh city and it’s a nice easy walk. The area itself is so quiet and seems away from the bustle of the city besides being so close. Uber is very accessible too and it’ll cost about £10 to get into the city or to Leith on the coast. It’s also about a 50 min walk to the zoo. There is also a complex with a Sainsbury’s, M&S, KFC, Boots, Costa and a few other shops about a 7-8 minute walk away which came in handy. Private parking was also available which was good for us as we drove down. All in all, if you’re looking for a place to stay close to the city and to plenty of amenities I couldn’t recommend Blinkbonny House anymore highly!! It was a lovely stay and should we visit Edinburgh again we would only look to stay here!!
