"I was quite satisfied with my stay. Although the hotel entrance is small, the room was surprisingly spacious. It even had some basic kitchen facilities, which was handy for simple cooking. My only minor gripe is that one of the room doors wouldn't stay open on its own and needed to be propped – hopefully, this can be improved. We booked a twin room, and it turned out to be two separate rooms, which was excellent for privacy and quiet sleep. It could actually accommodate four people. The only slight drawback was that parking required using a public car park located below the castle, about a 10-15 minute walk away."

"I have stayed at The Court before and really liked it, especially because of the location – it’s very convenient and central. However, I feel the recent changes have made the experience less enjoyable. The space is now smaller, and unfortunately, the kitchen has been removed. There used to be areas where you could cook, eat, and hang out with other guests, which made the place feel more social and flexible. Now, that is no longer available. It’s also not allowed to eat inside the rooms, so if you don’t want to order from their kitchen, there aren’t many options left. For me, this was disappointing because one of the best parts before was the freedom to prepare your own food and enjoy it in a shared space. Overall, the location is still great, but the new rules and reduced facilities make the stay less comfortable than it used to be."

"The room was on the smaller side, but the facilities and service were excellent. The staff were very accommodating and offered free luggage storage. The front desk staff were particularly warm and welcoming, making us feel very comfortable. The room itself was clean. However, given the hotel's age, some facilities were noticeably dated."

"When I checked in, I was told to ”overbook” and spent only the first day in a room without windows. I arrived at 22:00, so I didn't mind so much, but I was a little frustrated, but it was good that the staff were friendly. ２ Move to a room with windows from the night. Still, the size of the room was not so different from that of a Japanese business hotel. It was a room on the 4th floor, but the view was very good because there are not so many skyscrapers in Edinburgh. There is Haymarket station (there is also a supermarket in the station) in front of you, and there are plenty of places to eat around, so there is no difficulty finding a place to have breakfast. If you have the opportunity to come to Edinburgh next time, you can go somewhere else."

"The location of the hotel is very convenient and the car park facilities is also near if driving as it is in the city area. The room I booked is a queen's bed with the request of high floor. Actually I checked in quite early that day at around two o clock but the reception gave me a 2nd floor assessbility room which was out of my expectation. Upon my request, they can only changed to a standard twin room on 4th floor. The water pressure of the shower is very poor and made us very unpleasant. The breakfast was just up to standard. Only the food at 1802 restaurant is good at dinner time."

"Service wasn't very warm at check-in with this lady who delegated the task to another colleague. However, later interactions were more pleasant especially with 2 counter staff (Polish lady and gentleman - sorry, can't remember their names) who were very friendly and helpful. The location was great with easy walkable access to the attractions and restaurants."

"We are so satisfied with Aparthotel! It is very clean and has everything we need. Especially when you want to stay in the same place for a few days and don't know where to eat, this hotel is equipped with basic cooking ware, rubbish and recycling bins and a dishwasher! Is is also located in between the train station and city centre. When you feel tired you can always go back for a rest before heading out for dinner."

"The hotel is located in Edinburgh's New Town, which I quite liked, except that Edinburgh hotel prices are indeed expensive—no wonder, there are so many tourists! It's not too far from Waverley train station, and along Princes Street you'll pass the Scott Monument, as Edinburgh isn't very big. Hotel Check-in: Pay special attention to the emails sent by the hotel before check-in (email is still very frequently used in the UK). The emails will provide check-in instructions, especially the password for the main entrance downstairs; otherwise, you won't be able to get in. The password should be a six-digit number; don't use # or * before or after it, just enter it directly. If you enter it successfully, the number screen will turn green; red means you entered it incorrectly. Check-in is on the second floor (the first floor inside the elevator). There's no front desk upstairs; you enter your information at a machine to check in. When I arrived, it was almost 5 pm, well past check-in time, but the machine said the room wasn't ready. Actually, there was a system problem. There was a screen where you could call their staff; after the call, the staff restarted the system, and check-in was completed. The entire hotel's decor is very exquisite, sophisticated, and well-designed; many details are excellent. There's a tablet by the bed with information and you can send messages to staff. The room has a small kitchen with nice tableware, a microwave, kettle, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Besides water and milk, the refrigerator even has Irn Bru, a Scottish specialty – a thoughtful touch. The shower water was strong and hot, which was excellent. There's a common lounge area on the second floor, where coffee and snacks are served during the day. Two washing machines with dryers are on the fifth floor."

"I stayed at A&O Edinburgh Hostel during my trip to Edinburgh and had a solid experience overall. The location is excellent — right in the city center, within walking distance of the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, and plenty of pubs and restaurants. The hostel itself is clean, and relaxing after a day of exploring. The staff were helpful and friendly, but it took a while to check-in. Rooms were basic but comfortable, especially considering the affordable price. Bathrooms were shared but well-maintained. If you’re a budget traveler looking for a central, convenient place to stay in Edinburgh without fuss, A&O is a good choice. Just be prepared for the usual hostel vibe—shared spaces and some noise. Would definitely consider staying here again!"

"The hotel boasts an excellent location, right on Victoria Street, making it incredibly convenient to visit The Elephant House and shop for Harry Potter merchandise. We also enjoyed what we believe were the best fried noodles in Edinburgh at Mussel, the seafood restaurant located directly opposite. The room itself was larger than anticipated, and I particularly appreciated the bathroom having a bathtub – perfect for a relaxing soak after a long day of city walking!"
