I have to admit it was my fault, not noticing that the bathroom facilities were shared. There are SOME rooms with en-suites, but these are in the minority. I had also assumed i would be able to make a cup of tea, but the kitchen on my floor was in accessible, locked. The room was basic and tatty - grubby carpet and curtains coming off the rail. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised that it was below standard, but I think it’s overpriced at £79 per night. Breakfast was the redeeming feature - very good.

Good service staff, value for money as the hotel has full facilities like steam bath , sauna , indoor swimming and even gym rooms. That’s make our stay fruitful. Although the location a bit far from city centre but still easy to get into bus and tram to city.

I had a fantastic time at ”The Scholar” hotel and couldn't be more pleased with the overall experience. Firstly, the service was exceptional. The staff was incredibly welcoming and always ready to assist, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The facilities at the hotel were impressive as well. The rooms were spacious, elegantly decorated, and provided top-notch comfort. The clean and well-equipped bathroom, along with modern amenities, added to the overall appeal. Additionally, the leisure facilities such as the gym and swimming pool enriched the entire stay, making it more fulfilling and enjoyable. One of the highlights was the dining experience. The breakfast offered a diverse selection of high-quality options. I particularly enjoyed their signature dishes, which were flavorful and memorable. The restaurant staff exhibited professionalism and friendliness, enhancing the overall dining experience. In conclusion, I highly recommend ”The Scholar” hotel. Whether for business or leisure, it's a memorable choice. Looking forward to returning and relishing the warm and high-quality accommodation once again.

Hotel is close to Haymarket station and well connected to public transport just 10 min walk. Service is good

The room is quite small but it is close to the city centre and lots of restaurants nearby. The hotel is cosy and staffs are very friendly. The car park is £10 a day which I personally think it is quite expensive. Overall, our experience is good with Leonardo Royal.

The location was great and the room very spacious. Unfortunately the design of the shower meant the bathroom door had rotted by being continuously wet. The room service was extremely good and the facilities were excellent. Sadly although we had asked for late checkout confirmed and paid for it, we found that it had not been added to our booking and that the hotel was unable to accommodate us. Overrall a mediocre service for the money

We stayed here on the last days of the Fringe festival so we chose it for its reasonable price. Location is very good, I'd say 15 minutes walking from the centre. Nothing fancy as it's a student accommodation but overall clean and pleasant. The only thing I would improve is cleanliness and temperature in the corridors as the carpets are stained and old, and it was too hot. As for the room, despite being tiny, it didn't feel claustrophobic, thanks also to the the big window, and I liked the bathroom quite new, bright, and clean. In conclusion, I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Good value for money and excellent location in Edinburgh. Our flat was spacious and comfortable for a three-day stay. With each bedroom being en suite we all had comfortable sleeping and living arrangements. The kitchen was well appointed and the reception desk even gave us shampoo and dishwasher soap tablets. As it was warm, they also made fans available at no cost to anyone who wanted one. We travel to Edinburgh every summer. We absolutely plan to return to Destiny Murano next July.

Stayed overnight at the Leonardo Hotel as we were hosting friends visiting from Pensilvania USA and all I can say is it was outstanding! From check in, special mention to Steve the Concierge (who diligently stored our bags and offered advice) to the welcome complimentary glass of Prosecco all of the staff were tentative and exceptionally friendly! The rooms were clean and comfortable and the restaurant for breakfast outstanding. All in all fantastic value for money and we would definitely recommend it!

I am shocked to see the hotel with a 4-star rating on here. Everything about our experience was brilliant. We visited the hotel towards the end of March for a friends wedding. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, the drive in, the main reception building, the function room. A really special place to tie the knot. I think I can speak for most of the wedding party in saying the service was absolutely brilliant. All the staff were so attentive and really went above and beyond in catering to everybody’s needs. A special mention to Sofie and Johanna who were tending the bar. They really outdid themselves, professional and extremely pleasant throughout. I can’t imagine how hard it must be dealing with so many merry party goes but they did it with a smile and really went the extra mile and helped to make it a really great day. But thank you to everyone at the Dalmahoy, it was an amazing day.
