This hotel stay was amazing. Right from booking until check out, it was very smooth. While I was booking, I believe it was Keiran who helped me cancel and rebook with ease. We had the breakfast in the hotel which was good. But the location of this hotel is impressive everything is close by. All attractions, restaurants, bars, etc are close. Thank you Leonardo for this amazing experience. We will definitely look out for your other properties.
Asked for non allergenic bedding which was provided, however one of the pillows was still feather down which I was not aware of until leaving ( as it was my partners pillow) Was very allergic with itchy eyes and sneezing. Which only developed after being in the room. Bit difficult to work the heating system.
Other factors were adequate. Housekeeping staff are very attentive. Breakfast lacked more vegetarian options for the hot breakfast such as mushrooms, vegetarian sausages.
The hotel is about 10min away from the Edinburgh Waverley station. Next to Edinburgh conference centre. Good neighbourhood.
Paying for breakfast £13 each. Normal breakfast. Good Christmas decoration and very nice and cozy sofa set to sit and view the vibrant activities outside the big windows. A plus point.
Public transport needs at least 7-10 min walk to bus stop or tram station and restaurants

This review is mostly based on the hotel being ”5 star”. I travel a lot for work, so maybe after staying is some nice hotels I was expecting more. I stay in a number of hotels in Scotland and around the world and I can honestly say this is the most dissapointed I have been. It isn't the worst hotel I have stayed in, but its certainly the most over rated. The rooms are very dated with some attempts to modernise. For a 5 star hotel i would expect the very basics to be of quality like a decent shower, but this has the cheapest of cheap shower heads, the type that give very little pressure and hit about 5% of you. I ended sitting on the shower floor so i could actually get enough water. The head wasn't faulty, it was just cheap and nasty. There was nothing provided in room other than a couple cans of water and the cheapest of toiletries. The food menu was basic but well priced, the food quality was average but no complaints. The air cooling/heating unit was mostly useless. The bed was big, comfortable, clean and nice pillows and very random but its one of the first times iv stayed in a hotel where the TV isnt slow and a massive pain LOL. Having stayed in a few other hotels in Edinburgh i would say the Hilton Carlton close by was far better and with the Point A or Leonardo being a lot cheaper they are much better value. Given my work pays the cost, even though I could stay here again I likely wont and would rather stay at one of the others. Over all, this hotel should be nowhere near 5 star, i would honestly say that even a 4 start rating is generous as I have stayed in better 3 stars
Spacious rooms, twin rooms available for friends trip. Good shower and some complementary tea and cookie in the room. Unexpected that baggage storage was not free after checkout. Location is a bit far from the center, but close to Dean village and nice river walk. Could be good for a longer stay. Overall good experience.
We had an amazing stay at Moxy. The lobby is great, with loads of board games and reasonably priced drinks and meals. The room was also really good, with good soundproofing. I was afraid that the automatic bed light mentioned in other reviews would bother me but not at all - it only lights up if you get up, not when you’re in bed. Would stay again!
Very nice and modern hotel in the center of the city and close to the convention center. We stayed in much bigger since it was intended for disabled individuals. Very good breakfast included. Staff was wonderful in the front desk as well as the restaurant. The front desk staff gave us great ideas for places to visit as well as great restaurant recommendations. At the restaurant in the morning staff was kind and meeting all requests to the best of their abilities and in the being making recommendations for drinks, beers and whisky. The room was ample, clean and modern. Overall a great place to stay in Edinburgh.
In all honesty we decided on the apartments because it was the cheapest available for a bank holiday weekend and seeing Harry Styles. It was great and no complaints and we were pleasantly surprised, it worked well having a bedroom then separate living area with sofa bed and mini kitchen for privacy & snorers lol. We initially thought it was the west end so bit far out from Murrayfield stadium/princes street but it really wasn’t that far at all and was a nice sunny day. Would 100% stay here again
Very nice hotel! Beautiful and spacey room. Near to the haymarket train station.
The staff is very nice and helpful.
Will recommend this hotel so much!!
Our assessment of our 3 night stay at the Waldorf was mixed. The hotel was very nice and as a Diamond member we were upgraded to a castle view room. The complimentary breakfast was very good and the front desk staff were generally helpful. We did have a problem one night with the light fixture leaking water from the ceiling. This may have been due to a rainstorm one night and staff brought a bucket to catch the leaking water. The biggest problem, however, occurred after checkout. At the time of checkout I was told that the hotel printer wasn’t working so they would email me my receipt. Since all 3 nights were paid for with HH points I asked if there was a zero balance and was told yes. Later that day I received the final bill and was charged over $1,000 on my credit card for all three nights. I immediately called the hotel and was told by in house reservations staff that my reservation had been cancelled when I didn’t show up. I reminded them that we had been staying with them the last 3 nights and had no problem at checkin on the scheduled day. In fact I confirmed our arrival time several hours before checkin. So they didn’t know what the problem was but would talk to the reservations manager when they were free. In the meantime I called the Hilton diamond desk and again was told that someone had cancelled my stay with points and it had been rebooked by someone as a cash stay and they were not sure what the problem was. My points had even been put back onto my account by someone. By now I am a bit irritated. I finally receive a call back from the hotel reservation manager who tells me that the Waldorf had a computer glitch on our arrival date and that all hotel reservations had been cancelled and had to be manually reentered by hotel staff. However, Hilton hotels have no way to make reservations using points so they made them as a cash payment. Thereby the $1,000 bill. Now glitches are bound to occur sometimes. However, all of this angst could have been avoided by telling me at checkin about the problem and I could have immediately rebooked the room using points while standing at the front desk. The hotel did ultimately reverse the charges and apologize. However. this shouldn’t happen at a property like the Waldorf.

333769323We had 3 days at this beautifully restored apartment complex. I can't get over the ginormity of the place. The living room in Unit 1 is HUGE, with a decent-sized bedroom and bathroom, a smallish kitchen and a utility room with a washer/dryer combo machine. It even had an outdoor patio that we never touched. All was crystal clean and well-appointed, and it's a short walk to Haymarket station for trains and buses. We were much relieved that we were able to easily stow our luggage when we arrived early. The cleaner had our place clean and ready by 1 pm and told us we were able to clock in a bit early. Sadly, I came down with a horrible cold while in Edinburgh. I am so grateful we had such a lovely place to stay while I battled through it. Dean, Grassmarket, the Royal Mile and Prince's St are all walkable from the place, and there are plenty of places to eat and even a Sainsbury's just down the way if you want to make meals in. The kitchen is appointed with a cooktop, a mini fridge and a dishwasher. I would have liked a toaster oven or microwave, but we made do. We just happened to time our vacation during Fringe Festival and there was so much entertainment on offer within a short walk from our doorstep. In all, it was a fantastic place to stay.
PPengguna TetamuMy recent hotel stay was a bit of a mixed experience. While the hotel was clean and well-equipped, there were several issues that detracted from my overall satisfaction.
Before arriving, I had communicated with the hotel via email and was told that they could be reached via WhatsApp. However, upon arrival, I was unable to get a response from the hotel on WhatsApp. Additionally, there was no reception area, and check-in had to be done over the phone, which required multiple long-distance phone calls and extra fees.
The day before check-in, I received a last-minute email from the hotel requesting a deposit, but they did not provide any information on how to make the payment. Not all of the staff were willing to provide assistance, but the last person I spoke to was patient and helpful, which allowed me to check in smoothly.
One major safety concern was that there was a step outside the bathroom, but the floor was not marked, making it easy to trip and fall. Another hazard was the transparent coffee table in the living room, which caused several stumbling incidents that could have led to injuries.
Overall, while the hotel was clean and well-maintained, the issues with communication, extra fees, and safety hazards detracted from my experience.
PPengguna TetamuMy husband and I stayed at The Bonham for a week as part of our honeymoon. It was our first time in Edinburgh and we found the hotel to be perfectly placed. While it is outside the city center, it is close enough to walk in and far enough to enjoy the quiet and get away from the crowds. The staff were always friendly, helpful, and made us feel very welcome. Our room was beautiful, clean, comfortable and bigger than expected with a stunning view. The bed was harder than we prefer, but that was the only drawback. Overall we had a wonderful stay at The Bonham and we would be happy to come back next time we’re in Edinburgh!
On arrival everything with the hotel and room seemed fine. However, upon return to the room late in the evening the stench of sewage emanating from the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. A putrid foul smell engulfed the room which was now all but uninhabitable. We contacted reception requesting a room change, and were greeted by a pleasant but powerless night porter armed with a febreeze can of air freshner. Despite his feeble attempts, the disgusting smell of sewage remained. We were informed that there were no other rooms available and due to the lateness were unable to book elsewhere and thus either forced to stay in the disgusting room or on the streets. We reluctantly stayed and attempted to address the issue in the morning at reception. We requested a full refund in light of the hotel failing to meet their end of our contractual agreement, by providing a habitable room. We we’re offered only a 50% refund despite our concerns having been validated by hotel staff and neighbouring guests at the hotel. Had the hotel accepted they had not delivered the standard of service a human may expect and provided a full refund then that could of been the end of it. Instead they chose to highlight how little to no standards that they hold. Avoid this hotel at all costs!!
PPengguna TetamuThis is a rather disappointing stay. I hope we can get a proper compensation.
1. The bathroom does not have any basic toiletries, not even hand soap. We had to go down to reception to ask and was given hand lotion and told that it works as hand soap?!?
2. Breakfast is not ready at 7am. Breakfast is supposed to serve from 7 - 10am. On first morning, breakfast spread was not complete because chef came to work late. (Photo shows what was available to guests). We had to leave to catch our day tour bus so we barely ate anything. On the next day, no breakfast was served because there was issues with gas.
3. Room cleaning was not complete. Room cleaning only made the beds and refreshed the towels. The dustbins were not emptied and the toilet papers were not replenished.
This was clearly once a nicer hotel, but it's now rather shabby and needs some updates. I slept well enough and the room was spacious. Maybe it was just my room, but but the room didn't look like the photo on the website; it looked familiar but as though someone had gone in and taken out the nice things after the photo was taken. The heater needed an instruction card, sometimes we could figure out how to work it and sometimes we couldn't. The wardrobes were attached to the wall but were leaning so far forward they looked like they were going to fall over. There were only a few hangers provided, all but one of them children's size. The bathroom was what really let things down. There was a slight step up into the bathroom and the laminate was peeling off it, so quite a tripping hazard. The bath/shower was very tall and difficult to step out of - a step stool would have been a help. One day there was no warm water for my dad's shower, but then plenty for mine after and we couldn't figure out why. Then the next day despite setting the dial to warm and fiddling with it, my shower was pretty tepid. The toilet sometimes flushed better than others, which seemed to do with the looseness of the handle. There was a lot of empty space under the counter with the sink, which I think would be a good place to put a small shelf for towels and the hairdryer. The hairdryer was stored in a dresser drawer and we didn't find it until the last morning. The staff were friendly and the packaged pastries/granola bars/sweets available were handy to grab and go. Something we thought was kind of odd was that the staff would ask us to leave our keys at the desk when we went out and pick them up them we returned. The issue was that when we returned and ask for our keys, no one ever asked for any ID or to check that we were, in fact, the people staying in that room and there were new desk attendants at least once who had never seen us bit just handed over the room key without questions. You receive a discount for booking directly from their website, which was nice.
