Weald of Kent Golf Course and Hotel

We stayed here for two nights in July when attending a family funeral nearby. The surroundings were very pleasant. The hotel block is set away from the hotel reception, clubhouse and bar. On first glance the room looked fine but we soon found a number of issues. There was no milk provided on the tea tray. The general level of cleaning was terrible. The bathroom pedal bin and shower controls hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The bath panel was coming away from the bath. The tile grout was blackened and there was a gap between the tiles and the silicone sealant. No soap was provided for the wash-hand basin. There was a dispenser for hair and body wash but it was placed so high up on the wall over the bath that I couldn’t reach it from the ground. Our view from the window was of a fence and a bonfire pile, not the lovely greens and lake in the photos. The window frame opening was absolutely filthy and full of spider webs, the net curtains were frayed and there were even cobwebs on the curtains inside too. The drawer for our clothes was dusty inside and one bedside light had no bulb in it. The beds and linen were fine however. In the restaurant our ‘reserved’ table for dinner had food crumbs on the floor under it and the glasses were not clean. It was also very cold as they had the air/con on full pelt, quite unnecessarily (we were the only people in there). I asked three times for it to be turned up/off. The food was however very good and staff were pleasant. Breakfast was ok too, though very little choice of cereal unless you like muesli. We didn’t eat there the second night. We didn’t venture into the bar area as it was quite noisey with all the golfers and locals. It did not feel like a hotel should. It seemed to me to be just an add-on to their existing golf business. I got the impression it is used mainly by tradesmen/salesmen etc. working in the area. We would not go there again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else based on our experience.

Excellent golf course and hotel very clean and comfortable. Very polite and helpful staff, especially Gary on the first tee and Kerry in the breakfast restaurant. Both were brilliant and done all they could to help. Will definitely return soon.

A great value for money stay. I stayed in a Luxury Room next to the Golf Club upstairs, which may be a bit steep if you have any physical mobility issues. The room large and clean. Really well proportioned room with armchairs, fridge, and good size TV. Restaurant was good, menu in the evening offered a reasonable selection, curry night was very good value for money. Breakfast is great value, huge selection and really good cooked options. I stayed on a B&B basis and found it value for money. Do be prepared that you are staying in a Golf Club so lots of visiting player groups, who can be a bit boisterous, however I found it all quite entertaining. Overall staff excellent, particularly in the bar and restaurant and housekeeping! It was a great base to do the things I wished to visit over three days. Great value for money. The course is in really good condition and is really challenging for all levels. There are some well placed hazards ditches, bunkers and ponds. The hotel is very basic but it was very clean. I found the staff very friendly and competent on the whole there was a pleasant atmosphere provided by the staff who were very polite and accommodating. Dinner was very nice but the menu was quite small, breakfast was fantastic. Couldn’t fault any of the food we had. Only negative is it doesn’t have a pool hot tub or sauna Apart from that it was a fantastic break Highly recommended

Booked in for a one night stay and two games of golf with a party of friends. Can't fault the actual golf course, however, the hotel and it's staffing were not so great. The hotel receptionist was not welcoming and very off hand. The rooms were bog standard and my room had a slight sewage smell coming from the toilet. The evening club house staff and restaurant staff again were not welcoming and had no personality. Did not check to see if our meals were ok and took ages to clear our tables. The same can be said for the young ladies at breakfast. They ran out of pastries and the coffee machine ran out of milk!. The food both at dinner and breakfast was however excellent. I think they just lack the polish that other venues we have been to have.

Excellent off road parking. Restaurant and bar with friendly, unpretentious service. Lovely views across the golf course and good choice of meals and breakfast. Rooms are practical and well kitted out for travellers. Handy to Leeds castle. Good value for money.

Love this place , always stay here on route to France , fabulous food , rooms are clean and warm , Location is perfect for dover ferry , can't fault it , check out the steak and chips , sublime ! Keep up the good work , see you soon ....hopefully very soon ...

Found this Hotel looking for something in Kent that 6 friends could get to when a booking in Faversham was changed. It suited us all fine, pleasant rooms to lay our heads after a reunion dinner in the restaurant. Large rooms, lovely bathrooms, mid range price I guess. Meal was very good, obviously cooked to order. The one negative, pretty chilly in the restaurant and bar I'm afraid but on the whole I would recommend.

Had Christmas lunch with a group - meal choices submitted a few weeks ago. Think the roast turkey meal was cooked at that time too - it was dreadful, have had better at Toby Carvery for half the price. Felt like the roast potatoes had been in and out of the fryer so many times that there was no potato left inside 😒
