Nkuhlu Tented Camp

This was our second visit to Nkuhlu for our wedding anniversary. We absolutely loved it again, exceptional, luxury, spacious and clean. Very comfortable bed. Mosquito nets around the bed every night, and the table set for us. The staff are all lovely, friendly & kind. The ranger called us over the radio if there was anything in camp, we saw Hyena and Serval. As well as seeing Kudu, elephant over the river, lots of other small buck, and a very large Baboon on our patio😬) The gas braai, chairs and kitchenette are all sufficient and make for a great stay. Thankyou so much for making our 29th anniversary memorable.

This beautiful camp is located in one of the best areas of the Kruger park, right on the river and by the picnic site. The tents are very comfortable, new, very clean and those by the river, with a wonderful view. There is a kitchenette, an outdoor Weber grill, furnished terrace and a spacious bathroom. The downside is that you hear the noise from your neighbours. During our stay our neighbours on one side of the tent were quite loud at night and using flash lights all over the perimeter of the tent, which was rather disturbing.

This is a most welcome newcomer to the accommodation choices in Kruger. Booking was easy and efficient and queries were promptly answered. The setting is exquisite, the tents are thoughtfully and comprehensively kitted out and everything is in excellent condition. Above all the staff at the camp could not be more friendly, helpful and gracious. During our 2 night stay several Nyala grazed peacefully nearby and a troop of baboons thundered over the tent at dawn - so you really feel you are in the bush! The Nkuhlu picnic site shop is on your doorstep and both Lower Sabie and Skukuza are less half an hour away if you want a break from self-catering. The Skukuza /Lower Sabie road is renowned for good sightings and as a bonus one can even enjoy it when the day visitors have left and everyone else is heading back to camp. This camp fills a gap between the large, and these days sadly often rundown, SANParks camps and the fully catered high-end lodges. We have stayed in all these types of accommodation in Kruger and for us Nkuhlu Tented Camp is unquestionably the sweet spot in terms of price, setting and facilities. We will definitely return!

The unfenced camp makes for an umatched bush experience, with hyenas, hippo and bush buck making appearances throughout the evenings. The view over the Sabi River from the “river suite tent” we booked was absolutely incredible! The room is fully furnished with everything you need for a self-catering stay. Beautifully decorated and practically well thought through down to the finest detail - including a rechargeable light, free-standing battery, radio for communication with the team, aircon, fan and ammenities. The kitchen is equipped with a two plated gas stove, kettle for on the gas stove, fridge/freezer, an array of utensils, a microwave and ammenities (coffee, tea and milk). Also, outside on the patio, there is a gas webber. The staff were so friendly, helpful and attentive. Late in the afternoons the housekeeping ladies would not only do the usual turndowns, but also set a table in the room for dinner. On the bed you would receive a chocolate, plus a bed time story and souvenir relevant to the tale. The location of the camp/lodge is very convenient as it is situated at the Nkuhlu picnic site. Which has its own little shop and takeaway place (closes at 15:40). All in all expectations were exceeded. A stay at Nkuhlu Tented Camp is a MUST when visiting the Kruger.

We found out favourite camp after 9 years of going to Kruger! I can highly recommend this camp. Very seldom that you see staff so friendly and passionate about their camp! We will be back next year. Well done and keep it up!

Ottimo, meraviglioso, super....cosa aggiungere. La posizione lungo il fiume è incredibile, le camere molto belle e ben arredate. La terrazza con vista fiume impagabile. C'è un barbecue a gas dove è possibile cucinare per poi cenare sotto le stelle. Servizio molto attento e cortese. Dopo cena in terrazza sotto le stelle con gli animali sotto di noi...indimenticabile.
