Kau Yatún Hotel Boutique

The hotel is quite good, very comfortable bed and bedroom, very clean, hot bathtub, friendly staff and an amazing breakfast. I def recommend this hotel to stay in El Calafate. The only negative was the hotel's restaurant. The food was terrible, tasteless and expensive. I ordered a fish for dinner, and it came with lots of bones and no salt.

This is a very nice place to stay when in El Calafate. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to town, very doable, but away from the hubbub of the town center. Dinner here were quite good, breakfast was fine. Nice family feel. Scenic grounds. Worth a stay.

Loved the park like setting and the proximity to town- 10 minute walk along sidewalks. Room was large with a lovely view to green space. Breakfast was very tasty and filling with lots of hot and cold options and fresh pastries, juices , including Kombucha. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We were in and out of El Calafate on our tour and stayed 1 night, 2 nights with the tour group and 1 night on our own. We were very pleased and would come back again

Nice big rooms in a quiet ranch like setting. There is a towel drying rack in the bathroom so it is a good place to do a little laundry. Easy walk into town - straight walk for 15 minutes or so. Very pretty grounds with a nice small bar and patio. Outstanding breakfast.

Excellent stay because of their helpful staff and food at the hotel! Close to town and just a beautiful location. The staff at the hotel was super helpful and the breakfast provided was excellent with many options every day. The restaurant has many great food and wine options too and the food was very tasty. Rooms were very comfortable and nice.

We enjoyed our stay at Kau Yatun hotel -- our room was very comfortable and the onsite restaurant (El Alambique) was excellent. The grounds of the hotel are lovely, with beautiful flowers and planting. Wish we could have stayed more than one night! Would recommend!

We liked the room and the location. Walkable to town but quiet. I don't like to eat breakfast early and made a SMALL sandwich to take with me for when I got hungry. The waitress came up to me and told me I couldn't take it with me. I said ok. She stood there and said it 3 out 4 more times. She wouldn't leave the table and was rude and hostile. This is totally uncalled for. This may be a hotel policy, as it is everywhere, but I've never had an employee come up to me and tell me to take it out of my pocket, and not leave the table once I said ok. BAD HOTEL POLICY!!! RUDE EMPLOYEE

Excellent staff, particularly reception staff who went out of their way to assist. Whilst the on-site restaurant was not run by hotel itself the food and service were excellent and good value. The thing you need to consider is that hotel is a bit out of town, so be prepared to walk (15 mins) or take a taxi.

STAY FAR AWAY. I don’t even have words for how terrible my experience was at this hotel. We booked a superior room through a travel agency (Kallpa—also not great) and upon arrival, without any explanation were given a standard room. But not just any standard room, one that was unbelievably filthy and had multiple plumbing issues. They would not honor our reservation (that we paid for!), no apology, not even a free bottle of water. Sorry, not sorry, hotel is full even though you paid for a better room class you have to stay in this dingy one. I took a shower and the water took forever to drain and left a ring of soap and dirt on the tub. The left sink handle doesn’t work and all the tile in the bathroom is cracked, plus the sink was leaking onto the floor the entire time. The shower curtain smells like mildew. There was a smashed bug carcass on the wall next to the bed and so much mold in the bathroom. Someone came after 2 hours to “fix” the bathroom and only because my American travel agent contacted them. They promised us a suite the next night to make up for it but of course, when we get back from our excursion they just gave us the room we were originally supposed to have and played dumb about the suite upgrade. The woman at the front desk just rolled her eyes and said it’s a superior room and you had a standard, that’s the upgrade. Even though that was the room we were supposed to have and they didn’t honor it! We had to stay a night in a room that I could not sleep in! I had to fight for the thing they promised us the night before, the suite room and even then they were very reluctant to give it to us. The lock is like a bathroom button lock so it feels really unsafe and there are Google reviews saying cash was stolen. The paint is peeling everywhere, honestly I have no idea how it got a 4 star class rating because this is like staying at some scary horror hotel, plus it’s super far from the main area.
