The cottages are lovely and clean located near the beach. You can totally relax away from el nido and still go for dinner at a nice restaurant just by walking along the beach (takes around 20-30 min to walk to vanilla beach and have to consider the tide!). The breakfast was good, but otherwise we wouldn't recommend eating there - we tried the new year's eve dinner which was overpriced and a normal dinner when we got cold meat and seafood in a vegetarian dish! Also the food didn't come at the same time, so you couldn'r really enjoy eating with your partner. We booked through agoda and they didn't answer any of our emails or calls. The day of our arrival we finally got someone who answered the phone and organised a private transfer from puerto princesa ( around 6500 pesos). They also have a free ride by golf cart from mcdonalds/ vanilla beach to the resort. If you want to go to el nido a tricylce from mcdonals costs 150pesos.

We left on a bad note and so our review will start on a bad note! All this place cares about is soaking you for every cent your worth without regard to your happiness. Billing meals and drinks uses a system devised in the 17th century utilizing carbon paper, a pen, and pad. No computers. How could things go wrong? On our final day we received a call from the front desk confirming our early morning transport to the airport which we had already arranged and confirmed twice. We were quoted $44 for private transport to the airport at 5 am which was already way too much for the 15-minute 4.3-mile journey. Our flight left at 7 am so I was a little confused why the resort wanted to leave so early. To add to the confusion, we were quoted $26 for a private airport transfer earlier that week. So, during the phone call we confirmed the price which now was quoted at $61! I balked at this and was requoted at $53 than again at $61. I now proceeded to the front desk to find out what is going on and talked to the manager. She showed me the pricing and indeed, if you had private transport to the airport before 5 am the cost was $61. At 5 am and after, the price was $53. However, my transport was at 5 am so it should be $53. She did not agree. So I arranged for 5:15 am and she reluctantly charged us our original quote of $44. Ok, all is well now. However, I believe that the resort wanted us to leave early for the airport in order to charge us more money. We ate dinner and we had two bottles of water. We settled our tab at 8 pm due to our early departure the next day. During the settlement, I pointed out that the restaurant had not billed us for the two bottles of water, however the desk person said that they were included and pointed them out on the tab. Great all is well! At 10:30 pm while sleeping our phone rings and the same desk person says “I know your sleeping but could you come down and pay for two bottles of water which were not billed?” ***! I said no (I was so mad I actually cursed on the phone) and said I would pay the driver in the morning. Again, I was so mad I could not get back to sleep! I cannot believe a resort would wake someone for $5 which I tried to pay earlier, particularly after spending over $2,800 on our stay. Just let it go! But the money was more important than the guest’s happiness. Our room and balcony were noisy from the main highway below and was really hot and unusable in the afternoon because the sad little AC could not keep up with the direct sunlight from the balcony even with the curtains closed. No shade at the pool. The resort is super steep so if you have any mobility issues, don’t stay here. Can’t walk to town because of how steep the road is. Housekeeping locked us out twice and confiscated our key. We had to ask for coffee in our room every morning. The hardest bed ever (ouch). Some positives: the view from our balcony was amazing, the infinity pool and view from restaurant was also amazing. The room decor was impress

We arrived at this hotel after we cancelled a more expensive, horrendous hotel further up the road. There is nothing bad about this place... Its perfect! The rooms are clean, light and airy.. The bed is comfy and the deck area is stunning... You are literally on the beach. Everything works in it including the TV and Ac. The breakfast is good... I just wish they would add pancakes to the menu! The WiFi can be hit and miss but that is everywhere here so it's not a problem. There is a gorgeous resident cat and her kitten on site and as cat lovers we just loved them... Unfortunately we couldn't smuggle them home :) Overall this hotel saved my stay in el nido and turned what could have been a disaster into a dream... The staff can't do enough for you and I thank them for being so attentive. Gutted to be leaving but if you are after a comfortable, clean and happy stay ... Give this place a shot. You won't be disappointed!!

Pluses • Nice spacious room, very comfy bed and pillows, smart tv, a bottle of complementary wine, bathroom with full amenities, strong water pressure • Masseuse at the spa gave a wonderful full body massage • Breakfast was good – full spread and different dishes every day • We were allowed to keep our room until 2pm as our flight was at 5pm Minuses • For a high-end resort, service is everything. Lihim advertises “bespoke” service with its butler service, but the overall level of service we received was mediocre at best. The butter/s assigned to us had no initiative, did not go out of his/her way to make sure everything was all right, was absent most of the time except to text us and to have us sign for bills, were not knowledgeable about the tours being offered by the hotel. (1) I asked whether we could move our return flight to an earlier flight, the butler just said he didn’t know if there were earlier flights. I asked him to find out, he never did. (2) We had to go online to find out details on the tour we were taking because he could not provide any information. (3)) We asked for a pickup from the town square at 8pm at 7:30pm. At 7:50pm, the butler confirmed the car was on its way. By 8:30m we were still waiting in the street and followed up once again. The car arrived at 8:45pm. Turns out the driver was never informed of the pickup by the butler when she confirmed to us that the car was on the way. No personal apology for the inconvenience caused to us at all. (4) Upon check-out, both butlers came to our room to have us pay the bill. No “hope you enjoyed your staff, thank you for coming, hope you can come back”. One accompanied us to the airport, on bringing down our bags from the car, didn’t even offer to help us with our bags. He said bye, and got back in the car. (3) We did not see or speak to any general manager while in the resort. I don’t know if there was even on one on site. • The ala carte lunch we ordered at Gana upon arrival while our room was still being cleaned was pretty bad. After that, except for breakfast which was included in the package and which was good), we would eat in the restaurants in El Nido town square each evening and had yummy, tasty food at different restaurants at better prices (even if it meant being charged P1000 for the round-trip transfers). On our last day, we tried the higher-end Henri restaurant. Quality was better than Gana but we still preferred eating in El Nido town given the better choice of food outside the resort. • The “bespoke” tours offered by the resort are basic and overpriced for what you get. We did the Hapag and Cadlao tours – except for the use of speedboats instead of outrigger bancas, both could have been run by any tour operator in town, lacking in any differentiated service or experience given the premium price charges. Towels and cold bottled water were provided but that’s a bare minimum for the price they charge. It would have cost next to nothing to have a basket fille

My friends and I rented two of the villas each with a private pool. We had #1 and 2. 1 being the highest one up the hill. The view from the lounging terrace was spectacular In villa 1. The room itself was adequate. An L shaped open plan room with the bed tucked in the top of the L. It was against 2 walls and a tight passage on the only open side. There were no outlets near the bed. The bathroom was of good size. And was a wet shower set up. As is common elsewhere in the Philippines. What you wipe with goes in a bin on the side Villa 2 had a much more convenient square layout. Our friends were not sharing a bed, so we had the staff bring up an extra mattress to lay on the floor in front of the window. Both pools were very nice. Villa 1 pool had a waterfall. There was an issue with A bunch of kids getting into both pools while we were out. We came back to find them and politely shooed them away. Rumor was they were friends/family of the owners The big word of caution is what most other reviews have called out about the steep hill side and steps up to the villas. It was 100+ steps to Villa one. It became a challenge After a few days some Our less than fit in the group. For that reason alone, we should should've booked something in town on flatter ground The breakfast served was adequate. Be aware you must order the food the day before The staff was very helpful. They carried our luggage up. And down at our 430a departure I give this place 5 stars because of the views, the staff, affordable prices for a private pool. I wouldn't stay again because of the steps
