Pierre & Vacances Andorra El Tarter

We booked via the telephone in the UK as 3 couples advised 3 bedroom apartment with pull out beds would be booked for us. On arrival at 7.30pm given a 3 bedroom apartment with bunk beds. At checkin we were given very little information about ski locker set up of apartment etc. All very rushed. Apartment was not suitable for 3 couples. It was clean and would be suitable for a family, the apartment was clean and well maintained Disappointing response from Pierre Vacance when raising the issues that we had.

Stayed in a pleasant modern 1 bedroom apt operated by Pierre et Vacances booked through Crystal Ski. Disappointed to find reception didn't open until 3pm and rooms unavailable until 5pm having been dropped off at bus stop down the road by Crystal transfer coach from Toulouse. However we got into apt soon after 3pm. Reception staff v helpful. Hard to find our ski store room in basement car park and way out. This was also unheated and v wet. Should have hired a locker near lift as hard work with 2 young children walking uphill to gondola or chair lift carrying skis and crossing busy road. We asked for twin beds and got them. Heating good with lots of adjustable radiators for drying gear. No plug for kitchen sink or bath and not available. Toaster caused a power cut but easy to right in fuse box and reception provided a brand new toaster. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of crockery and good utensils. Big fridge freezer. Microwave and electric oven and 3 induction rings. Dishwasher and washing machine. Small pack of cleaning stuff provided. Towels and bed linen changed mid week but not cleaned. Fairly quiet except for the odd door bang. Lift. TV with BBC news. Good WiFi. No view. Easy to open windows with roller shutters. Good well lit and ventilated bathroom with bidet, loo and bath(unusable with no plug!) with shower over and drying lines. Not much in village and spoilt by busy main road. Lot of ongoing smart apt devpt. Food shop cafe and a few basic restaurants (pizza/pasta/burger) up steep hill behind (good for takeaways). Neilson Hotel le Clos nearby and has happy hour (-10%) 5.30-6.30. Supermarket 10 min walk down road and good shop in petrol station over the road. We used Euroski hotel's swimming pool and sauna (jacuzzi and steam room not working) 10 mins safe walk up road towards Soldeu. Towels provided but need to buy/hire swim caps. €7/10/14 admission depending on age and what's open. You can also go to Llop Gris pool in village near chair lift. All worked well for us but it's nothing special and lacks real charm and character like most of Andorra.

Nice location from slopes with a 5-10 minute walk to Gondola. Clean and functional self-catering apartment. Washing machine, fridge-freezer, oven. Cutlery and crockery supplied but take tea-towel. Nice and warm and heating can be controlled. Water in immersion tank and we had plenty for washing up and showers. There are lockers for skis in the garage but we hired lockers at the gondola for the week which was €22 a day (holds 4 x sets of skis/boots) Nice local store for groceries two streets behind the main reception and uphill away from the slopes. Has a small cafe/bakery as well. Larger supermarket is about 10-15 mins walk down past the gondola station and in the main El Tarter road. The street behind the apartments and where the small store is, also has a number of small restaurants, most offering take-away.

My partner and I stayed in the P&V 1 bedroom apartment in January 2023 for our first ski holiday and I would 100% recommend to anyone. The best part of this apartment is the location, we used the Pic Negre Lockers at the bottom of the chairlift/gondola (think it was €10 a day hire) which were only a 5 min walk away. There is a supermarket which has all necessary items in a 5/10 min walk away so that’s really handy. And the bus services to go into other towns like Canillo, Soldeu or the capital are close to the apartment and easy enough to use. There are some nice little restaurants in El Tarter but think Soldeu is a lot busier for pubs etc. The apartment has everything you would need, except tea towels. Luckily I had seen this on a different review and had taken them just in case so would recommend taking some. They give you small bits for cleaning eg washing up liquid, a few cloths, some dishwasher tablets. However there’s no washing machine tablets/detergent if you were planning to wash clothes whilst there. The only 2 things I wish we had known was they seemed to come into the apartment mid week to make the beds and change the towels which was great however no warning which would have been nice to make sure personal belongings/valuables were away. You also have to pay a €200 deposit on arrival in case of damage which is standard for apartments so no problem just again would’ve liked to have known prior. They hold the amount on a card and we got back less than a week ago and already they’ve cancelled the holding charge so easy enough to get the money back. There’s a tourist tax to pay- ours was about €30 euros for both of us for the week so not bad and again standard but just a prior warning. Would recommend to anyone planning to ski in El Tarter, resort was brilliant for skiing and apartment was lovely with perfect location. Reception staff were nice and easy enough to find keys etc on arrival. We plan to return to Andorra and these apartments in the future.

Appartement spacieux et agréable à 400 m des œufs vous amenant au cœur de la magnifique station de Grandvalira. Inconvénient, assez bruyant car situé sur la route principale mais nous avons pu laisser notre voiture sur le grand parking gratuit d'El Tarter et nous rendre à pied pour nous équiper pour la journée de ski. En revanche, l'endroit n'est pas intéressant pour les courses, juste pour refaire le plein d'essence à un tarif très avantageux, sinon arrêtez vous au Pas de la Case avant de passer la frontière ou poussez en voiture jusqu'à Andorra la vieille. Pour ceux qui veulent venir en camping car, ils sont tolérés sur un parking à proximité des oeufs, il y a juste un immense escalier à grimper.

Très bon accueil. Les appartements se situent un peu plus loin en voiture avec garage accessible (moyennant finances) L'appartement était plutôt propre (une serviette de salle de bains avec des traces, et en enlevant les draps le matin la couette avait plusieurs taches ainsi que les aleses...) Ce qui m'a le plus déçue c'est la vue.... je pensais avoir un petit balcon au vu des photos du site mais pas du tout, c'était plutôt vue chez les voisins et sans voir le ciel. Hormis cela l'appartement est équipée et à 5 minutes des œufs donc plutôt agréable
