We stayed here with Tui in December and absolutely loved it. Yes it’s mostly a trip to take your young ones to see Santa but as an only adult couple, I adored it! We stayed in a bungalow over the road and it was very warm and equipped with everything you needed. Staff and Tui staff at the hotel were amazing. Food was really lovely too. All trips were well organised and great. The coldest we had it was -28 but with the correct layers and clothing provided I didn’t feel it. Finland is such a beautiful country in the snow, I loved seeing all the local houses decorated for Christmas. The locals are very friendly too. The huskies were are favourite I’d do it all again in a heartbeat :)

I think I may just be in love with the landscape but this was one of two hotels that I really enjoyed during my visit to the region. Regarding style, the decor is certainly vintage but not worn out, giving it a real Wes Anderson vibe of pine and carpet. My room had a view over the lake and was nice and spacious. The only fault with my room (101) was a very loud buzzing ***** light over the window but I didn’t use it so it didn’t spoil the stay. The sauna and pool are a great addition, with the sauna operating from 4pm (I seem to remember) and the pool chilly but invigorating. The restaurant buffet was decent at €35 with plenty of options. After the meal, it was great to take a wander back down into the nearby town to burn off the calories.

It was very fun and the bus took us to all the things we wanted to see, the pool was cold tho. But that did not matter because the sauna was great. We went to see a lot of things and there is here a skiing place close to the hotel. You can also go shop for groceries but it does take half an hour to get there but the walking is not bad because the nature is beautiful.

I visited this hotel with my 8 year old daughter as part of a TUI Lapland experience. This review focuses just on the hotel, although the overall Tui experience was excellent. The half board food was good. Nice food, good quality and variety. The bar drinks were quite expensive (£8 for a 500ml beer), but that is generally the case in Finland. The hotel was always warm and clean. There's a pool table, sauna and swimming pool. The pool is a cold pool. Freezing in fact, so not suitable for young kids. About 10 minutes walk from the hotel is a supermarket. In a similar distance in the other direction is a ski slope, which was unused at the time I visited, meaning it could be used for sledging. Outside the back of the hotel is a lake, which was frozen over and could be walked on. The room was basic but clean and pleasant. TV, fridge and lots of storage space. WiFi throughout the hotel. Some rooms had saunas in. Getting an apartment with a mini kitchen was also an option. These were over the road from the hotel. Hetta is a small and remote village. It made for a relaxing yet fun Lapland experience. There were only around 35 guests in total for the TUI package, which meant a small and friendly group whose kids played with each other and made friends. The photos are the northern lights from the lake. And the hotel in the distance from across the frozen lake.

What a fantastic experience! We stayed for 4 nights at Hetta hotel in bungalow A. The bungalows are located opposite main hotel building. They are spacious, lovely and warm. Nice hot shower, everything needed to self cater if you wish - kettle, toaster, oven, hob, fridge freezer and microwave. Food at the hotel is outstanding, there's always something for the children (e.g. chicken nuggets and chips) and a special diet section too. Water available at meal times or drinks payable at the bar (to give an idea most beers and spirits are around €8 per glass). The staff are fantastic and make the stay extra special. Oli, jinglebobs, dasher dan, gingerbread Gina, Christmas cookie katie - you're all amazing, so hard working, and made our stay so special - thankyou!! Taster sessions are perfect 👌 such a magical day! We did the snowmobile excursion over the lake which was awesome! The village is a 15 min walk there's a supermarket and a few souvenir shops. The sledging slopes are 5 min walk in opposite direction and there's a lovely visitors centre with cafe there to warm up in. We were lucky enough to see the Northern lights twice too, such a fantastic experience we'll never forget!
