Agriturismo Don Carlo

The place is beautiful, set in quiet area. Rooms are spacious, clean and air conditioning is very good. The pool is nice and clean. The food is esquisite. They have a set menu of sicilian food which changes every night. The breakfast is also very good. We thank Rosa for her excellent cooking. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Don Carlo Agriturismo September 2023 for four nights.It is a quiet farm surrounded by the olive trees they grow and make olive oil from. The pool was so refreshing after very hot days of exploring Erice, Trapani and Segesta.At night we went up on the rooftop to relax, talk, have some wine and look out at the lights of Trapani. The atmosphere is relaxed and quiet. The rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable..I would have like the towels changed at least once in our four nights. Leonardo arranged for a tour of the salt pans which was so appreciated since all of the places were already booked. Anna had breakfast every morning and all the cappuccino we needed.But the real highlight were the dinners that Rosa cooked for us. Each night there was an appetizer of authentic vegetables, olives , cheese and other surprises, a first course pasta with different sauces and pastas - all typical of the region, then a main course of sausage, or pork cutlets and other delicious entrees with salad/vegetable and amazing homemade dessert. I could write a lot about each dinner and go on forever, but just to say that each night was as excellent as the night before. Rosa served us right on time and had a beautiful table set and a smile. We loved her!!! Also, we didn't have to navigate the dark country roads to get to a restaurant and back to the farm. In our month in Sicily these meals were a highlight. Our stay at Don Carlo was easy and carefree in every way. We would definitely come again.

When reading this review please remember 3 stars is still "very good". The location is slightly isolated being in the countryside. Some will prefer this as we did. Everything in the room was just fine. The pool and the views out over the hills were great. We took advantage of the in house dinner on one occasion and this is appreciated to avoid driving although there are restaurants within 15 minutes by car. The issue is that the dinner was adequate but not such a good quality/price ratio. I need not go into detail but the meal should have been better. Finally, although the greeting and interaction with personnel was professional it was not particularly warm nor informative.

Our stay at Agriturismo Don Carlo was exceptional. Leonardo, Anna and Rosa were very helpful from beginning till the end of our stay. The atmosphere at Don Carlo is very relaxed, peaceful and calm. Breakfast is delicious, everything homemade by Anna, including jams and biscuits! We also had dinner at Don Carlo several times during our stay. All was prepared by chef Rosa. Simply delicious, especially the pasta Trapanese and the almond ice cream! Both Anna and Rosa are so caring and make you feel so welcome and looked after. The space is also ideal for children. Our 4 year old and 4 month old baby loved it in their own ways. The location is also ideal to visit nearby places of interest including Castellammare del Golfo, Trapani, San Vito lo Capo etc. Don Carlo is secluded but conveniently located at the same time. Will surely return should we decide to visit the are again. Highly recommend.

Set in a lovely peaceful location, this place is great as a base from which to explore west Sicily. Lovely big room with aircon and fridge, wonderful food. Anna was extremely helpful and friendly, making sure we had all we needed, and she always prepared beautiful fresh fruit for breakfast, and made lovely cakes. Rosa cooked delicious fresh and tasty meals in the evening, which were very varied (we had hardly anything twice throughout our 2-week stay). Lovely pool to go back to in the afternoon after a morning's sightseeing. The owner, Leonardo, was also very friendly, and he is very eco-conscious, with solar panels currently providing about 40% of electricity needs, and more in the pipeline. Would definitely go back if we returned to the region.

Ospitalità ed ottimo cibo sono le peculiarità di questo agriturismo. Un grazie ad Anna e Rosa che ci hanno coccolato durante la vacanza ed un ulteriore grazie a Rosa che in occasione del compleanno di nostra mamma ci ha deliziato con una delle sue gustosissime torte.
