The good: The hotel is conveniently located to the train station. I think that the room is a typical Premier Inn - well laid out and comfortable with a good nights sleep to be had. The bathroom is well laid out with good water pressure. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of choices. There were about 6 staff available in the morning. All staff were very helpful. The not so good: Parking - first come first served - I understand, however, not sure why you do not allow a prebook. Also, it was hard to explain when there were 3 spots out the back that were not utilised at arrival. Parking - a bit more of an explanation of alternate parking options would be good. Being told that there is a car park 3 mins down the road, struggling to find said car park and then walking in the dark down a dimly lit path with young children in an unfamiliar city is not the best welcome to either Essen or the Hotel. Evening Staffing/Restaurant/Bar - I arrived at 19.30h there were only 2 staff on duty. I came downstairs at 19.45 to arrange some dinner for my children and me. Unfortunately, the 2nd staff member was (rightly) taking a break to have some dinner. I queried, and I was told to wait at the bar. Whilst waiting at the bar, other people also came to wait for their drinks. After other people were served before me despite being first, I was finally served at 20.15h. Food was finally served at 20.50h. It is a long wait with children. Yes, I could have fed my children before coming to the hotel, however, Premier Inn has a restaurant and a menu... I could have researched alternative car parks should this one not be available. I just would have expected a little more assistance from a Premier Inn. So, not all Premier Inn's fault, but it is an accurate portrayal of the Saturday evening. So, in summary, if the staff had not been so nice I would have dropped the star level down further. I know it could be a one-off, but on a Saturday night, I would have expected a little more from a Premier Inn. Will I stay again, most probably not, but if you are going to Essen for business then it possibly is a good hotel to stay in and worth a go. The standardisation of the Premier Inn offer always ensures a good nights sleep.

The hotel being next up the railway station helps in commute. The overall stay was fine. The room amenities should be placed as per the occupancy. One of the days the room was not serviced. The breakfast is good. The Bar at the hotel is good too.

Have spent more nights in premier inns that I can remember. Have used them in the UK for years. They're all pretty much the same (Zip and Hub aside of course) both of which I also like. The German offering is either aimed at a slightly higher niceness or are maybe just newer. Anyhoo, the rooms are nice. But. I've stayed at the Essen hotel before and the beds weren't great then and don't seem to have been replaced in the last year. The result is (my 2p) that the beds are too soft and when I sit on them, the springs bottom out and I can feel the base. It's not much better when trying to sleep. This is a bit weird as the ones in premier inns in the UK are excellent, to the point where I considered buying one of same type of mattresses/beds for home. This last weekend, the TV was Broken in the first room, so asked to move because the bed was rubbish. Bed also rubbish in second room. By the time I got to the third room I was too embarrassed to ask to move again but the bed thing isn't restricted to one room. Staff were good, the lady on reception was excellent even when facing an avalanche of customers as six pm approached. Overall, an average stay but the beds would mean I'll probably head to Dortmund and the Mercure next time.

Incredible price for the location, situated a short walk from Essen train station. Rooms are also big, spacious and crystal quiet. Reception was less helpful, asked twice for a replacement kettle and they said one would be delivered to my room but never arrived either time. Additionally, I had two separate bookings and wanted to roll these into one and stay in the same room but they said this wasn't possible.

We have stayed at this hotel in the past, and have been most impressed with the level of service and the price. Yasho Greeted us upon our arrival but it took a while before we got our keys as it was a very busy check in time with lots of people checking in at the same time. I had communicated a few Simple special requests by email, and they were all met. Dominic Yasho and Louanna (in the restaurant) made us feel at home and very welcome. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the breakfast was really delicious. I would thoroughly recommend it. We had hired a car as we were in Essen for a family wedding . parking was available most of the time. Nothing was too much trouble for these three members of staff, and I would like to suggest that the hotel Management acknowledges their professionalism, and customer service. I would definitely stay here again as the location is very central for all amenities, including a train station, supermarket, shops and restaurants.

I organized a cocktail reception in this hotel, and I just would like to give a special thanks to Markus and Patrik. Everyone was very nice and helpful. You guys do a great job! Thank you very much for helping our company to succeed in our event!

Very well locaties next to main station. Very friendly staff. We felt welcome. Check in and out was fast and friendly. Nice room, clean, great shower. Excellent value for oude money. Def. Recommand it.

I recently stayed at a hotel in Essen next to the main train station, and I have to say that my experience was great. The location was perfect for exploring the city, and the hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. I would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Essen

WE WERE 50 MEMBERS STAYED AT PREMIER IN HOTEL ESSEN FROM 11TH NOV TO 18TH NOV AND WE ALL WERE VERY HAPPY BECAUSE OF VERY KIND AND HELPFUL HOTEL STAFF. SPECIAL THANKS TO MR.
