Mill on the Exe

We’ve stayed here 3-4 times a year for the last 3 years while our daughter is at university , always try to book early as they are busy and do get full. Everyone is always very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and have everything you will need, with comfy beds and modern bathrooms The setting is perfect as you overlook the river. Parking is onsite and private. The city centre is about 1/2 mile walk away I couldn’t really recommend the place highly enough and honestly would not stay anywhere else given the choice.

Such a Beautiful hotel,great location,lovely restaurant very good food and staff friendly and helpful. We took our Dog and he was treated like a VIP. The rooms good size and comfy beds Couldn't recommend highly enough.

A very enjoyable experience. The hotel is well maintained & both the bedrooms & dining area are clean and tidy.The staff were very efficient & even when my wife asked to refine her dish the kitchen was most accommodating. Location spot on, we will return.

We had a lovely stay in one of the double rooms overlooking the river. Staff were all very friendly, we also had breakfast which was brilliant. Service was excellent throughout our stay and I am looking forward to when we can return to Exeter where we will stay in Mill on the Exe without doubt. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for comfort and great service.

Friendly staff and lovely overall atmosphere and value for money with charm. Super comfortable beds too. A converted old paper mill on the river. It is now a restaurant/pub busy with a few room. It was busy with diners when we visited. It felt more restaurant than pub. I suppose in summer, when one sits outdoors it may be more of a pub? The rooms were quiet, well appointed, looking over the river and with comfortable beds. There’s also separate parking just for the hotel guests.

From our arrival to our departure, we had a very enjoyable and relaxing time. This was despite arriving on a Sunday afternoon and struggling to find a place to park. Had not realised there's a separate car park for Residents. Duly moved the car into this dedicated area, where there was much more space. Very impressed with our Room. Facing the River. Very comfortable and super warm. Excellent choice of teas and the coffee machine was easy to use. The bottles of water were a welcome surprise and they were replaced throughput our 3 night stay. Some nice touches too, like the attention to detail with the "bath mat" being rolled up neatly and placed in the shower tray. Toiletries were lovely also and the shower was easy to use, with plenty of instant hot water. We booked a table for our Evening Meals. Service and food was excellent. Nice atmosphere in the Restaurant. Plenty of choices on the menu. Staff throughout our stay were friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast was very good. Again, there was something to satisfy everyone and staff were very cheerful in the morning. Location was excellent too. We walked along the river, into the City, which made a very pleasant walk. Lots of street signage, so no chance of getting lost. Another morning, we toom the more direct way into the City. This took under 15 minutes at a slow pace. We arrived feeling quite stressed and left feeling chilled and relaxed. Speaks volumes. We shall definitely return and we have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to others.

Lovely, quiet, warm room even in a storm. Large comfy bed! Room spotlessly clean but please clean the TV remote in room 3, it was really dirty! Allocated parking a bonus. Short walk to centre although in the dark, not comfortable on own - this is no fault of the venue though. Breakfast was fantastic! 8am start felt a little late and a rush when I needed to be at work for 9am

Only stayed night should have been more ,staff could not do more for you .Room was spotless, warm as it was very cold out side .Food was great not the cheapest but you get what you pay for , staff in the restaurant were very good and friendly . Not to far to walk into city I am in my late 70s and walked it in 15 mins .Will be booking again but not in January

We had a lovely room overlooking the river. It was large, contemporary in design, quiet and nice and warm ! The coffee machine along the facilities was a nice touch. It's the second time we have dined in the restaurant and the service and food was excellent. The reserved car sparking space for each room was an added bonus. We will be returning !
