A warm, comfortable room and a very pleasant bar/restaurant area made for a very pleasant stay. Staff very friendly. Food was very good, a varied menu in the evening and a good choice at breakfast. A very pleasant stay at The Pheasant Inn!!!!

We went visited here last Sunday and what a gorgeous surprise. We drove the whole way to Keilder for a long walk to realise it had all been closed because of the storms. We don’t often get a Sunday off work so a Sunday roast was a must. After the disaster of no walking route we decided to drive home. Via a pit stop for a pint for the non driver - anyway stopped at the first place we found and couldn’t have been more impressed. Gorgeous country style pub with open fires. Which we were able to sit right beside which was amazing. Waitress who we thought was the manager (Mel) was fabulous. Gave us the perfect seat. Could answer all our questions and of courses twisted our arm into dessert but also had a fabulous sense of humour when we had our desserts eaten in about 30 seconds. Excellent service. Amazing food I had the beef dinner - served pink which was a stunning surprise considering it wasn’t offered and my partner had steak and kidney pie which was the pie of the day. Couldn’t have been happier. The most perfect afternoon. Would drive the 1 hour and 20 just to come back here! Thank you x

The Pheasant is a comfortable and welcoming traditional English inn. Very clean, serving decent food and perfectly located for visiting the Kielder Observatory. Good hearty breakfasts and a pleasing selection of home cooked fresh dishes for dinner.

Charming country pub / restaurant with rooms - ideally placed for Kielder attractions, including the Observatory. Slight mix up with room allocation on arrival, but was quickly resolved. The room we had (family room) is on the small side, but the main bed is very large and extremely comfortable. Decent TV too, with Netflix etc should you be in the room for any length of time! A fantastic breakfast rounded off a nice trip.

The pub was great ,the beer which was Timothy Taylor's was good they had other types of ale as well, the food was fantastic, the owners and all the staff made us feel very welcome, there is plenty of parking and the room was good and always warm , there is some good walks to go on at Kielder dam you buy a parking ticket and you can use any of the car parks with the same ticket

I stayed for a night with friends to watch the Geminids meteor shower. The rooms were lovely and the beds were very comfy. We had delicious food and wine in the cosy bar and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

We would highly recommend staying at The Pheasant Inn. Ideal location when visiting Kielder and the dark skies observatory. The accommodation is superb with great attention to detail for a comfortable stay. The food is absolutely delicious and locally sourced. A wonderful family business who really do care about their customers and made us feel very welcome. My husband enjoyed tasting the vast array of whiskies.

Went with my girlfriend, had a great time and was well looked after by the staff, I would definitely recommend if your wanting to come to kielder and are wanting somewhere to stay. Overall had a good time and food was lovely so I am pleased with this stay👍🏼

Me and my partner Megan booked to stay for our 5 year anniversary and we absolutely loved the Pheasant Inn. The staff were extremely helpful, polite and knowledgeable. Storm Darragh made it difficult for us to travel or enjoy the outdoor area so we were met with great food, conversation and music in the dining/drinks area. The room was tidy, had plenty of refreshment choices, the WiFi worked perfect to watch a movie or 2 and the food was lush on an evening. The chef, Robin, takes pride in his work and more than delivered! All round 10 out of 10, atmosphere is everything and The Pheasant certainly accommodates for all! Will be staying again in the summer, thanks again! - Connor and Megs

Beautiful cosy pub. The children loved the bunk beds, the staff were really friendly and the food was high quality. Breakfast was delicious. Winter wonderland was cancelled but the trip and overnight stay cheered everyone up and allowed us to relax. We also got the chance to see a display of Waggons go past the pub.

Simply excellent small hotel. So clean and fresh. Staff so friendly. Forget silly, expensive named fine dining, if you want fabulous food, go to this hotel. The food is so good. Dinner is fabulous and the breakfast alone is worth the visit. Looking forward to going back for our third visit. Thank you to the Pheasant. Graham.

Stunning location, lovely people, superb food and accommodation was exactly as needed. We went to venture and walk around Kielder which we did over 3 days and were treated to heavy snow and a quick thaw to make it perfect. We ate at the inn on 3 nights and varied our menu between us. The food was superb and the attention to detail from Robin the chef certainly needs a mention as not one thing could be improved from our choice of starters and mains. All the serving team were superb, friendly and made us feel welcome from arriving till leaving. Well done team, hope to be back in warmer weather , Michael and Warren

The Pheasant Inn is a wonderful, cosy , traditional Pub in a beautiful location very close to Kielder Water and only 20 minutes drive from the Kielder Observatory . Staff are very warm, welcoming and friendly and the food is excellent . Hopefully we can return soon . Highly recommended .

Booked last minute as a stop on route but wish we could have stayed longer ! Clean modern rooms , comfy bed and tastefully decorated . Free parking on site in a beautiful location but the restaurant stole the show . Both dinner and breakfast were one of the best pub meals I have had in a long time and the family running the business are delightful . Congratulations on running a fantastic authentic inn
