Grab an outside seat in front of the hotel, order a 45 - 55 Euro decent Tuscan bottle of red and sit back, enjoy the Florence City Centre ambience and the best Olives you will ever eat, plus crisps. They happen to be complimentary Olives, but money can buy no finer Olives anyhow. The staff are stylish, ultra professional and friendly. Technically you are sitting in the outside veranda of the Irene restaurant, of the Hotel Savoy, one of Ultra Hotelier Rocco Forte's properties. I have literally palatial historical holiday apartment nearby (please take that as not a brag but adult channelled childhood excitement that I got so luck, plus context for not staying) which means I have never needed to stay at Hotel Savoy, but I have come for breakfast with my wife and son...and also with friends and even alone. Breakfast was 45 Euro plus tip service charge per adult and my 3 year old was politely uncharged despite a healthy appetite from my plate. It is an excellent feast and the orange juice is excellent quality ..if you order from the kitchen (price included) you will not feel hungry until the evening. Staying at Hotel Savoy will usually put you back real money (think 1190 Euro a night for standard room in mid May 2024) but I have never heard a friend who stayed here do anything but praise the staff and rooms and food..with a sometimes guilty ”jeepers it cost a bit”. I have had maybe 4 dinners at the Restaurant Irene, all excellent in every way. The Hotel Savoy has the best (in my opinion) 5* hotel location in Florence, on the Piazza della Repubblica and every meal I have had there is 5*. Going back for breakfast on the 11th April and cannot wait. There is a small gym I've noted, and on a couple of occasions the lovely staff have allowed me to have lunch served in a large underground room that sometimes serves as a playroom, allowing my toddler free range as I have a relatively calm lunch, that experience alone is priceless and especially thoughtful towards a a non residential hotel guest Overall 5* in all ways I have experienced.

Very good and charismatic place right in the middle of everything in Florence: shops, museums and restaurants, you can get anywhere within few minutes of walking. The front desk in very limited time arranged for us a short (we stayed 4 nights only), but not easy to execute program including a day in Chianti with 2 private winery visits (wineries from my list) and provided us with plenty restaurant recommendations. Which truth be told turned out to be better than couple of restaurants we found ourselves searching and reading reviews. The minuses. We were staying in a suite on the 2nd floor, which in Vecchietti is actually quite high due to high ceilings on each floor. The windows were to a side street and upon arrival we were assured that the windows are soundproof. But every night we were woken-up several times first by various partygoers returning back to the hotels/apartments and next by communal services collecting the garbage. The shower is tiny, has stone tiles floor and a big window that saw better times, which is letting in plenty of air from the outside. Even sitting on the toilet, which is located next to the shower door, (excuse me for details) one can feel cold air blowing from the shower door, which can’t be closed completely. On top of that one of the maids always found it a good idea to leave that window open for the whole day after leaving the room doing the cleaning. This being in November already. So, going into that shower was an ordeal every time.

From the moment we arrived to when we left we were very well looked after. On arrival we were greeted and offered complimentary drinks in an area near reception. We were then shown to our room, rather than being told which floor we were. Our bedroom was very large and the air conditioning was a bonus as it was very warm outside. We had a comfortable bed, nice touch staff coming in early evening to turn bedsheets down and putting water beside beds. Separate toilet/bathroom with two sinks and decent shower. Reception staff, sorry too many of you to mention, were really helpful, whether it be getting taxis, booking restaurants for us and where to go. Breakfast was brought to your table and there was plenty of it. Perhaps more hot food rather than just eggs in different forms? Star man for us was Alessandro. We met him on our first night, we were here for 5 nights, and no matter what time of day we saw him he always came up and chatted with us and is a really nice person. Overall this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in and is close to all main attractions in the city and only a short walk from train station. We will definitely return at some stage. The hotel is in a good location, very near city center and attractions. The hotel is renovated and very clean and luxurious. The check-in process was smooth, and the reception staff was very pleasant. The room they called junior suite but was just a bed with two chairs at the bottom of the bed. Still the room was nice, housekeeping did a good job. We were very happy the first day. From doormen to the reception and concierge, the staff members were pleasant. Concierge was very helpful. Next day at breakfast, however, we were disappointed by a small spread. Way smaller than other hotels in that category. Then a worker in the buffet area (didn’t catch his name, wears a black uniform) and another staff member were unprofessional and annoying, not just us but some other guests too. I asked if I could get crispy bacon, the fellow started lecturing me as to how rare is better and so on. He did serve it but showed resentment. Another server gave coffee in open pot (just like a soup pot) instead of a properly closed pot and when I mentioned that it will get cold, the waiter started lecturing that it is real silver and does not get cold, (coffee will get cold if left open and in fact colder as silver is a metal than in ceramic) Flaunting that it was a real silver was weird as most guests who can afford this hotel probably do have several silver sets at home ( we do). After that encounter, the previous fellow (in black uniform) came to our table and started grilling us with questions, asking our room number again and asking where we came from and sarcastically attempted to ridicule us. Then I found that he was also misbehaving with other American tourists, especially the ones dressed in shorts and casual outfits. A couple walked in 10 minutes before the closing time and this person started taking away the items as this couple was approaching to take them in the buffet area. Coincidently we met that couple at a tour, they mentioned that his dislike of Americans and people of another ethnicity is so obvious that they would skip breakfast to avoid spoiling another morning. After that experience, we decided not to eat in their restaurants or bar that evening as probably we would have more bad experiences.

When we arrived at Hotel La Gemma, it had been opened a grand total of 15 days. But no one could tell because Gianluca, the Hotel Manager, was in charge and everything was already in full swing and running smoothly. Gianluca himself showed us to our suite and made us feel welcomed. He was warm, engaging and very helpful throughout our 3-night stay. He even showed me how to make the stamps stick on my postcard by gently peeling off the back of them - they were adhesive like stickers. Before Gianluca came to the rescue, I was licking the back of the stamps like a fast-melting gelato but they still wouldn't stick. Gianluca also patiently walked me through the Tren Italia website to book our train tickets to Venice - all on my mobile phone. Eduardo at the Front Desk was earnest, lively and of great assistance. At breakfast, Luca the waiter was very good at explaining the extensive menu and choices available. He was solicitous and anticipated our needs. We missed him when he was not on duty. The hotel’s location is excellent, right in the heart of Florence and a stone’s throw from the Post Office. It is a very short walk to Piazza Republica, Ponte Vecchio and the beautiful landscape of the River Arno. The rooms are very well-appointed; huge comfy beds with fluffy pillows, a wide array of fragrant toiletries and, thick body-encompassing towels. The impression is one of old-world sophistication and luxury. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning to Hotel La Gemma.

I arrived early and the offered to store my luggage at the reception and they delivered to my room, that’s nice. There was no briefing on the breakfast arrangements at check in, they assume bay you know. My room is an end unit with a single bed, which is good for me, the bathroom is pleasantly big, and I do enjoyed the bath. Shower is good too with good water pressure. I found a pair of slippers inside the drawer of the bedside table instead of in the closet, they are comfortable. The whole 3 nights I stayed without Wi-Fi, they couldn’t fix it! The electric outlet has three holes so you need to bring the specific adapter as there no usb port to charge gadgets. I changed mine in the bathroom as my two pint adapters worked there. No kettle in the room but they kindly delivered some hot water to my room when I requested. The second night they told me to go downstairs to get it. TV has international news channels except CNN but that’s ok for me. Lifts are efficient.

This is a lovely, clean hotel with good facilities and location and an excellent breakfast. It has a very traditional decor, with a modern bathroom. Our room was pleasant enough but the window faced a wall and had huge shutters which we couldn't open. Hence, there was hardly any natural light in the room. I also found the staff a bit unfriendly, especially at the reception desk. There was no greeting if you walked past, and they did seem slightly condescending - not the usual friendliness you would expect on a reception desk. The staff at breakfast were much nicer. I liked this hotel, but a little friendliness and a smile go a long way and would have enhanced our stay.

Fabulous location, friendly staff. Rooms appear clean, and the wifi is decent when you can connect. This place could be excellent, but the devil is in the details. The water temperatures (hot/cold) were reversed in the shower. There is no minibar, and the vending machine on the floor was indecipherable when it came to payment, rendering it useless. The elevators are slow and make grating noises when the doors open and are inadequate given the extremely high traffic in and out. The laundry service was good and on time. Breakfast was adequate at best. I may consider staying here again, but not at €300+/night.

I have seen there are no recent reviews so will update you on our visit. First off this is NOT a hotel and they do not have any services at all. They don't advertise that so it is what is says a B&B. Our room way extremely small even for europe rooms. The bathroon was the size of a telephone booth. The drain did not work at all and within 2 minutes the pan was filled and overflowing into the bathroom. You can not use the shower bascially. The air conditioning works but sounds like there are coins bashing around in it and can't really be used at all. No way to sleep in the room with that noise.. its not just a little noise it rattling really loudly. The person that run the place is only there from 2-6pm. He was very nice and helpful. If you need anything after that you are on your own. He said call him and he can come back. But hardly feels right calling a guy to run over to bring extra towels. While the location is excellent..... without a fan or air conditioning the outside noise it unbearable. Loud parties and people have fun below until at least 4:00am. I think I was dosing here and there as I heard about 30 people signing happy birthday at 3:30am. I know we had the smallest room but had I been there a second night I would have checked out a day early. This again is not a hotel I would say its a dorm room with a view.

We originally booked A Florence View B&B for 2020 which was postponed due to COVID & we had a voucher for a future stay. Giuliana at the B&B was extremely helpful in responding quickly to all our emails providing information for our new 4 night booking. The B&B is wonderfully situated you are literally surrounded by the main sites overlooking the Cathedral, Duomo, Bell Tower (it really is that close!) We were met by Leonardo who talked us through the main Florence sites & provided some great restaurants to try. A Florence View is situated in an historical building with old style furniture & decor, we had a Duomo view room which looked out onto the square (truly amazing you can’t be closer!) our accommodation had a room with a sofa, small table, fridge with tea & coffee making facilities. A separate bedroom plus bathroom with a powerful jet shower. All very clean. Breakfast was delivered to our room which was a lovely personal touch (there isn’t a separate dining room) All the main sites are within easy walking distance including the train station approx 10 mins. The friendliness & customer service was fantastic we would definitely recommend staying at A Florence View.

We went for location over luxury and boy did we get the most amazing location!! The Duomo was almost touching distance !! The bells were amazing to hear ( but when the windows were shut we got peace and quiet). To walk out the door and right into the thick of the activity of Florence, was a wonderful experience. The B and B was clean, we were given a kettle and cups and tea bags when I asked if we could make tea. We really did have a comfortable sleep and we were allowed to leave our bags for the whole day we checked out which was great! There was an amazing lift up to the B and B ( but a flight of stairs to get to the lift so not accessible for those with mobility issues). We had such a memorable time. Thankyou so much to the staff.

Ho soggiornato per 2 notti in questo piccolo hotel nel pieno centro di Firenze,posizione ottima per tornare dopo pranzo per riposarsi e anche per uscire la sera!camera molto pulita e con letto alla francese, anche il bagno piccolo ma funzionale e pulito. Personale molto gentile, peccato solo che a colazione in questo periodo vengano solo offerte bevande calde erogate da una macchina, peraltro molto buone! Per accedere all'Hotel in qualsiasi momento, oltre all'orario della reception, vengono forniti dei codici di accesso, molto comodo, il check in viene fatto dopo le 14, mentre check out entro le 11, ma mi è stato permesso di lasciare la valigia in deposito fino a metà pomeriggio, una grande cortesia. Mi sono trovata benissimo e sono certa che tornerò molto preso in questa struttura

I couldn’t have picked a better located hotel if I had tried!! It is literal steps from the Duomo and the views from the rooftop terrace make any flaw inconsequential. I would absolutely stay here again if I came back to Florence. The hotel is located on the fourth floor of the building, but there is an elevator to take you up. The rooms are a little worn, and could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they are nice. The beds could also be updated, they are definitely on the firm side, but they aren’t uncomfortable. The bathroom towels were far better than the average hotel. Other people said the staff was rude, but I didn’t find that. There was an older gentleman who wasn’t particularly friendly, but he wasn’t rude at all. Breakfast was good, I just wish it started a little earlier.

The Lanzi Hotel situated in real heart of Florence, near the Duomo. Very clean and comfortable hotel. Large room (206), with nice view. Daily room cleaning. Helpfully staff. Taste breakfast. Good wifi. Thank you guys 🤝 We will be back again. Sure 👍
