Wow! Just back from an 18 night trip to Italy. Mostly airbnb and only three nights in hotels. After a mix up in Tuscany, I decided to book this for one night. See Florence for a day and then be close to train station the next morning, and to drop off our rental car. It ended up being close to our favorite stay. We stayed in the Orangerie room and were blown away! The largest space by far, huge bathroom, and two sets of French doors opening on to the gardens with a view! Beautiful stone arched ceilings, tastefull decorating. All top notch. Super relaxed workers, like you're on your own, no one bugging you. Great dining too with a view over Florence. If driving super easy free parking. And really 10 minutes if that from downtown Florence. do the sites all day, and come back and unwind here. Really romantic stay, way to short!!

Villa le Fontanelle is a breathtaking property. We chose this as primary lodging for a honeymoon visit to Florence and Tuscany. We would both recommend it to anyone...but particularly to honeymooners, or folks looking for an intimate destination wedding. The grounds and gardens are spectacular, and the area boasts one of the better panoramas of Florence. Personally, I think Fiesole has the loveliest view of the city, but this offers a sweeping vista--and the birds adore the area around VLF, which makes for a lovely and memorable beginning to the day. We stayed in La Torre and the Limonaia. The view from the tower (and, OK, having one's own private tower) is the stuff of E.M. Forster, particularly by night when the city is aglow. The grounds, the chapel and the staff make this a very special property. We were treated with kindness and grace all throughout the stay. If you book here, you probably do know what you're signing up for. This is a slightly out of the way property, so it's logistically trickier to get into the center of Florence, if you intend to hit the older city centre. We had to phone for taxis a handful of times, because of some very early morning commitments. The staff were incredible about helping us to coordinate with the local taxi services (which can be a real art unto itself) and making sure that we had any and all logistics completely squared away. For the two of us, Citrarium was also a huge part of what made our stay feel so magical. The food is slow and superb. We so enjoyed coming back to the Villa at the end of our days in Florence to linger over the multi-course meals and some of the staff's suggested wine and amaro pairings. We're forever indebted to the waiter who introduced us to a dazzling super-botanical southern amaro...since returning, we've shared it with many of our friends and family. We hope to return, but thank Villa le Fontanelle for the incredible hospitality and the beautiful memories!

Wonderful view,very kind and smiling staff,the food is restaurant is really amazing.Wonderful atmosphere.Very nice and clean hotel.Very beautiful nature.Everyting was wonderful.We will come back again.Favorite place in Tuscany.

TOP IN TUTTI I SENSI Non si puo' cominciare a fare una recensione sul "Citrarium" senza prime mettere in evidenza la veduta su tutta Firenze. Sembra di poter toccare il Campanile di Giotto,la Cupola e Palazzo Vecchio con un dito. E solo questo da solo meriterebbe di venire a cenare qui. Proseguendo, gli arredi interni, veramente in tono con la bellezza e particolarità della struttura. Per la ristorazione il mio giudizio non si discosta dal livello di quanto gia' precedentemente sottolineato. IL TOP Servizio attento, perfetto, sobrio e nel contempo familiare, per il cibo segnalo un risotto allo champagne da favola , un picio alla gricia ottimo ed una bistecca alla fiorentina ben cotta saporita e tenerissima. Era la festa di laurea di mia figlia e ringrazio tutto il personale per la perfetta riuscita dell'evento. Grazie di nuovo a tutti Mostra meno

Villa Le Fontanelle is absolutely amazing! We stayed here for 3 nights and the rooms are absolutely exquisite and comfortable. We highly recommend booking Limonaia or Orangerie if available. The pool area was lovely and the staff was incredibly helpful and kind. They have a STUNNING new restaurant with great food and ambiance! We will be back in the future.

We were lucky enough to have our wedding at Villa le Fontanelle in April this year. There are not enough words to capture how perfect and amazing VLF was. In terms of the villa itself, the grounds are stunning, the rooms romantic and clean, and the building is impeccably decorated. The food is also phenomenal - every meal we had was absolutely fantastic - the cacio e pepe gnocchi is the best gnocchi we have ever had! And finally, the staff. Ilaria, Vincenzo, and all of the VLF team were so kind, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. We felt so fortunate and lucky to have our wedding in such a special, beautiful place. Our only wish is that we could have stayed longer!

Questo luogo silenzioso e di grande eleganza si trova a pochi minuti dal centro di Firenze. Non pensavo ci fosse ancora qualcuno a cui interessasse curare così la propria casa! Proprio la proprietaria, con cui ho parlato mi ha dato l’idea di persona umile ma allo stesso tempo attenta alle mie domande, per esempio, del perché vi fosse un odore di cloro nella nostra stanza. Oltre alla location paradisiaca ci sono state degli elementi che mi hanno davvero conquistato tra cui l’amore verso gli animali nonché l’arredamento molto British. Al nostro attivo siamo stati accolti da ben due pastori tedeschi di una bontà incredibile che ci hanno condotto dal parcheggio alla reception. Un Golden che si aggirava per la villa ci ha tramesso amore e gioia. In merito alla accoglienza “ umana” devo dire al di sopra delle mie aspettative: cordialità, professionalità ma soprattutto semplicità ed umiltà. Stanza incredibile! Se dico incredibile, credeteci. La pulizia mi ha stupito anche perché sei immerso nel verde difronte alla Limonaia quindi ci poteva stare qualche insetto o ragnatela o giù di lì ma nulla di ciò abbiamo trovato! Bagno stupendo! Sembrava di essere in uno di quei castelli inglesi a nord di Londra. In merito al loro Ristornate da voto 10 con lode farò una recensione a parte. Colazione giusta con l’ indispensabile ma anch’essa disposta in modo elegante e con prodotti fatti in casa. Avrei introdotto delle crostate della “ nonna”. Cosa che mi ha dato molto fastidio è la maleducazione di una coppia di signori nella parte opposta al nostro tavolo che hanno preso tutti e dico tutti i pancake che erano sul tavolo! Non è colpa della struttura ma una cafonaggine così in una chicca come questa villa io non riesco ad accettarla. Ma se ci sono 10 pancake ma pensare agli altri no eh? Fatelo a casa vostra ignoranti maleducati! Servizio al tavolo grazioso e dolce anche grazie alla presenza del Golden che ci dava il buongiorno. Prezzo Corretto senza ombra di dubbio. Unico consiglio è di venire qui con una auto non sportiva poiché la salita per arrivare in villa è un po’ tortuosa e non asfaltata: io parlavo da solo mentre salivo poiché ho un auto alquanto bassa. Vista su Firenze: Mozzafiato. Altra cosa che mi è piaciuta tanto è stato il sapere che la Proprietà vive in villa a prova che ci tengono tanto. Unico consiglio è: Noi eravamo alla stanza Limonaia: poiché le nostre finestre danno proprio su quest’ultima, limiterei l’accesso agli ospiti su quella parte poiché si va a limitare la privacy obbligando a chiudere le tende soprattutto di giorno limitando la vista su Firenze che ne fa da padrona. Vi faccio davvero i miei più sinceri complimenti! Torneremo con il caldo per goderci la vostra piscina.
