Ardarroch Cottage B&B

Ardarroch Cottage is conveniently located for all the activities around Fort William and Glen Coe. The bathroom and rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated and very clean. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. We had dinner twice. The food was very well prepared and served in a stylish atmosphere. Ellie is the perfect host.

From the minute we arrived Ellie made us feel totally at home, more like friends than customers, but still remaining completely professional. The B&B is beautiful and immaculately clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the optional 3 course meal, everything was delicious, probably one of the best meals we've had the pleasure of eating. The location is brilliant and we were lucky enough to see the family of deer that frequently visit, also being able to see Ben Nevis from the bedroom window too. We stayed in this stunning B& B for 2 nights, could easily have stayed longer if time allowed. Ellie is the perfect host and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. Lovely little touches, including home baked cake for our hill walk. The food was fresh and beautifully made - we stayed for dinner one night which we would recommend. This B&B is a gem, we shall definitely return. Thank you Ellie!

We had a wonderful one night stay at Ardarroch B&B. Ellie was extremely welcoming and a great start to our stay was her introducing us to the deer who came right up to the fence at the back of the property. The room was extremely comfortable and we appreciated the extra little touches, such as chocolate by the bed. We had a two course meal and both the salmon and venison sausages were delicious. We both had sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was also very tasty. I would highly recommend Ellie's cooking. In the morning we also enjoyed a delicious cooked breakfast (Full Scottish and pancakes with bacon). There is also a range of continental breakfast items to choose from. We also opted to have packed lunches prepared as we were getting the train from the nearby Locheilside (5 minutes walk) train station to Glasgow. The packed lunches contained plenty of tasty treats to keep us going on our journey back home. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend staying here!

Ardarroch Cottage is a gem. It is in a perfect location overlooking Loch Eil with views of Ben Nevis and the surrounding hills. In the morning and late afternoon, a train goes by to add to the charm. It is within striking distance of Glen Coe, Fort William, Glenfinnan and the Scottish coast. Our host Ellie was welcoming and knowledgeable, full of useful tips about getting around and places to see or dine. The room was lovely and pristinely clean with all necessary conveniences (shower, water, coffee/tea maker, and WiFi). The view from the window was beautiful (see attached). All the food was delicious, home-made or locally source and served in her lovely dining room where we felt a home. And, we had the best sticky toffee pudding ever.

We had such a lovely stay here. The cottage is clean and welcoming and so was the room, which makes such a difference when you want to rest after a day out. We had great views of Ben Nevis and the Loch Eli from our room and closer by, the deer and sheep. The room has a fridge with fresh milk and water. Tea and coffee making facilities, with a good choice of hot drink options and sweet treats were left every day. Ellie is such a great host. She is really knowledgeable about the area and will provide maps and other helpful information. This was great for us as we have no definite plans but she provided us with plenty of options of what we could do. We opted for the dinner on our first night and I think it was the best meal I had during our trip. The breakfast was also delicious with various options and where possible ingredients are locally sourced. When we were heading back to the airport we had the breakfast to go option which was generous and tasted lovely and is much better than the airport food. Ellie puts a lot of thought and love into her BnB and it really shows. I’d definitely recommend her cottage to anyone wanting to visit the area.

Absolutely amazing place to stay, could not recommend enough. The room was very comfortable and clean, coffee machine, fresh milk and water in the fridge (in the room). Fresh chocolates left in the room every day, which was a lovely treat! Breakfast was fabulous every morning and kept us well fed for most of the day. Ellie was so friendly and welcoming. So knowledgeable about the area and gave us plenty of helpful tips on places we should go visit and the best places to park for free 😀 There was an added bonus of getting to feed a wild deer each morning that came to the fence, which was great! 100% recommend and will be going back.

There are some hosts who know exactly what is needed for a truly wonderful stay; Ardarroch cottage is exceptional and we couldn’t fault one thing while there. From the first greeting on arrival, the beautifully prepared rooms and the delicious breakfasts cooked to order from the menu, nothing was missed in execution and preparation. Dinner (if you wish) is another culinary delight, and the table setting for both was beautiful and to a very high standard. The cottage is spotlessly clean and the rooms are serviced each day with little delights left on the bedside tables. Coffee (espresso machine) and tea provided in room with little treats as well. But all this was secondary to the wonderful hosts who went out of their way to make sure we had a warm welcome and a happy stay, and we have beautiful memories to take with us because they cared.

I really enjoyed my stay at the self serve cottage! Wonderful setup and very clean! Ellie does a really good job in maintaining the cottage and she the food she made for breakfast and dinner was excellent! She has a very nice menu for breakfast and for dinner! But above all else, she is very, very nice and loves to give really good recommendations on where to go and what to see when visiting! Thank you Ellie for such a memorable experience!
