The staff who greeted us escorted us to our room and even observed our body types to provide the right size yukata. Every service member was smiling, and when we left, they saw us off at the door, waving until our car was out of sight, which was very touching. The Japanese aesthetic was evident everywhere.

We are a group of four ladies who stayed in Suite 841, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience at Kaneyamaen. The breathtaking view of Mount Fuji from our room was truly unforgettable. The entire environment is serene and calming, and we felt warmly welcomed at every corner of the hotel. Everything is impeccably maintained and spotlessly clean. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kaneyamaen to all my friends, and I definitely hope to return for more relaxation therapy in the future. Thank you, Kaneyamaen, for everything!

The hotel is absolutely amazing. I loved everything, from beautiful location and Fuji-san views to the hotel design, wonderful rooms, beautiful garden, wine lounge, onsen with Fuji-san view, kaiseki dinners, attention to details and wonderful stuff. The hotel has touched my soul. I feel so blessed to have the experience of staying in this place and truly wish to be back again next year. Arigatou gozaimasu!

This hotel offers plenty of activities to keep you busy. I particularly enjoyed the welcome matcha tea from an authentic tea house. The rustic sake room provides complimentary sake, which definitely warms you up and relieves tiredness. There’s also an open-air foot bath available. I had a spacious room with a marvelous view of Mount Fuji every morning upon waking. The gourmet dining experience is definitely worth mentioning. The unforgettable drum show and bingo game at night were incredibly exciting. The onsen experience was perfect.

The first night's dinner was very lavish, but the second night's was a bit underwhelming. The courtyard view is beautiful; you could easily spend half a day exploring it. Although it's an older hotel, the cleanliness and environment are excellent. The service is also on point. The hotel has shops, restaurants, a coffee shop, afternoon tea, an observation deck, and hot springs – all very comfortable.

Yamanashi Lounge: Can get you tipsy. Dinner: Different menu every day. Cleanliness: Japanese standard, very clean. Ambiance: Different every day. Service: Chinese and English translation available. You can stay in all day, drink tea, taste wine, and watch shows.

We stayed at Kaneyamaen and had a wonderful experience. Our room came with a private open-air bath, which made the stay even more special. Pros: 1) The hotel staff provided excellent service throughout our stay. There were evening activities such as a taiko drum performance and a bingo game, which added a fun and lively atmosphere. Although some staff members were not fluent in English, they quickly noticed that we could speak Mandarin and thoughtfully arranged a Mandarin-speaking staff member to assist us. Special thanks to Huang, who did an amazing job explaining the fine dining dishes, including the preparation methods and stories behind them. His effort and attention made the dining experience even more enjoyable. We would also like to express our appreciation to the other staff members who served us earlier as well. Although we did not manage to catch their names, their professionalism, patience, and warm service were equally commendable. 2) The hotel offers both a wine lounge and a club lounge, which we truly enjoyed. It was a great experience being able to try a variety of wines within the hotel in such a relaxing environment. 3) The public bath offers a clear and stunning view of Mount Fuji. Even better, our room’s private open-air bath also had a Mount Fuji view. Being able to enjoy the scenery in such comfort really made this stay great value for money. Cons: Honestly, none that I can think of. Overall, this was an excellent stay. I would definitely return to Kaneyamaen again on my next visit to Japan.

I booked a room with a view of Mount Fuji, but the weather wasn't cooperative, so the view wasn't ideal. The tatami room was very clean, and mattresses were provided as per our booking. It was my first time sleeping on a tatami, which was quite a novel experience. The hotel's internal scenery is fantastic, and the set dinner was also very good. The only downside is that it feels a bit out of the way, with not many dining options nearby.

Came with high expectations, left utterly disappointed. Not worth the money; I definitely won't be choosing this place again. First, the good points: The 'two meals and one night' package offered great food. Both breakfast and dinner were extensive and delicious. There's a bar where you can enjoy complimentary drinks, with a wide selection of wines and some snacks – that was a pleasant surprise. The hotel has a very Japanese aesthetic, and the garden looked like it would be beautiful (though we couldn't explore it due to rain). The drumming performance in the lobby in the evening was quite impressive. There are two onsen baths. I missed the women's hours for the 10th-floor bath with Mount Fuji views, which was a shame. The ground-floor bath was also nice. Average points: The location is between Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako, so it's not a lakeside hotel. While the hotel offers views of Mount Fuji, the weather was bad on the day we checked in, so we didn't get to see it. Now for the bad: The room facilities are quite old. There was a strong, unpleasant smell from the drain in the room. The bathroom sink water shuts off automatically, which was very inconvenient, and the lack of hot water there was incomprehensible. The service was genuinely disappointing. Most staff spoke very poor English, and the service was not proactive. Their solution for the drain smell was highly unsatisfactory; they didn't offer a room change, only a superficial deodorizing attempt. The sewer smell persisted and was very unpleasant.

It was a perfect stay at Kaneyama my family and I really appreciated the superb service the staff provided my family with. I had left some items in the room and they promptly had it couriered to me in Tokyo. The dinners each night were very well prepared, each day was just fun-filled with so many activities. The Taiko show was done so professionally I was surprised that the drummers were all staff of the resort!! I would love to re-visit the resort again some day.
