Doug When we arrived we noticed that the only lift in the hotel was out of order which made it impossible for anyone in a wheelchair or anyone with a mobility disability to reach reception or rooms. This building is an old Mill so the entrance and stairwells are extremely cold, there was cages full of dirty linen sat at the entrance too which wasn’t very welcoming. When we got to reception there was nobody there took a few minutes for someone to come out of the office, asked to check in he asked for our surname and walked back into the office and checked us in from there instead of out front on the reception desk, we were given room 130 and he directed us in the wrong direction but Doug corrected him and told us where to go the guy that checked us in then said “you can tell I don’t work here” unsure if he was being serious or not, he wore a dark patterned shirt, wore a lanyard but no name badge. When we got to the room the cleanliness of the room was disgusting, there was also a few maintenance issues; loads of hair and dark stains on the beds, light switches and bed lights were full of dust, bedside shelf also matted in dust, carpet behind the bed was yet again matted in dust, wardrobe where the spare pillows were was dusty, spotlights in the bathroom did not work so bathroom was extremely dull, the divider between the carpet and bathroom floor was full of dirt there was also a toenail which was extremely noticeable, bed base was badly ripped, wall had been scratched which has actually ripped the paint off and the groove is really quite deep, the back of the curtains were literally black full of dirt (hand prints, stains etc) headboard light coved was badly snapped in half, picture above bed was matted in dust, window did not open at all, the peep hole cover on the door was broken, floor in the bathroom was easily ripped up no sealant around the edge to hold it down..would also cause water to go under the floor and rot the wood underneath and stains on the shower curtain. It was absolutely filthy never seen a Travelodge like it! We then left the room went to reception to complain, Doug changed us room but unfortunately never gave us a chance to fully tell him what was wrong with the room stopped us mid conversation, we then got moved to 117 which he said was cleaned by himself, when we got to that room the hand towel had a very noticeable brown stain on it we took this back to reception and got a clean one, there was also a dirty used towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door. The windowsill was covered in dirt, dust hanging from the ceiling, and again the floor was not sealed down in the bathroom. The only thing that I like about this hotel is the view of the hills from the room. Overall very disappointed and disgusted with this hotel would not stay here again or recommend to anyone.

Nice relaxing overnight stay. Staff were all pleasant, friendly and welcoming. The room was clean, modern and most of all quiet. An overall pleasant stay.

Lovely travel lodge, only drawback, noise from wetherspoons late night below. Had to ask for a room change, lady on reception wasn't keen & chose to make a point, but reluctantly helped us, which solved the problem.

When my eldest son was in primary school, we decided to cycle Coast 2 Coast on the Trans Penine Trail when he finished his GCSE's. He completed his exams June '24 and, the following week, we set off from Liverpool. First stop was Glossop, and we booked the travelodge earlier that day for that night. After cycling all day we arrived at the hotel ready to rest, but getting up to reception, we found the booking was for the following Sunday. The hotel had been fully booked that day so the website had changed the date to the next available day, 6 days later. Staff on reception gave a list of local hotels and wished us luck. (We eventually found somewhere else, not on the list) I called Travelodge, twice, trying to sort a change of hotel so the booking could be moved but Travelodge said they couldn't do anything to help, it had to be Travelodge Glossop. They refused any refund, refused to change the booking, refused to find a solution. I do not recommend Travelodge anymore.

This is a clean, comfortable and recently renovated hotel situated in the centre of Glossop, close to all restaurants, shops and local activities. Hotel staff are friendly and courteous and acted on any additional requests promptly. A big bonus is that the hotel is just a short dash from the Peak District national park.

Nice room with everything you need. Good location very close to the train station and town centre where you can grab something to eat or drink. Surprisingly quiet and peaceful for a hotel. I had no issues whatsoever and would stay here again.

No breakfast even when we paid for it. No kitchen No bar No arrangement for a local partner business discount. Totally sub standard for almost £150 for 1 night and buy in your own food on top!!!!

Fast time at a Travelodge but won’t be our last, it represented excellent value for money and all the staff were very polite and nothing was too much trouble

As the title says. Our room was very hot and stuffy but we couldn't open the windows due to the excessive noise from the pub below. The hotel is also very basic and not worth the price paid. Upgrading our room was also a waste of money as we were unable to access the WiFi,something supposedly included in the upgrade.
