Cozy hotel with friendly personnel, and an okay single room. It wasn’t large, but it was clean. More than good enough for the two nights I stayed there. But it was in need of maintenance though: the doors and such were quite badly damaged. I’ve added breakfast to my booking, and this was really good! Lots to choose from, and delicious. One complaint: the rooms facing the street are not soundproofed enough in my opinion, too much of the noise of the quite busy road outside came in😕 Would stay again though, and I heard the double rooms are less noisy as these don’t face the street.

Lovely hotel with a vintage feel. Very clean rooms, great breakfast, and I particularly enjoyed the tea/coffee bar downstairs, available at all times of the day.

Fantastic stay at the hotel, provided us with an extra space heater as requested and all in all great customer service!

Location is good, a cozy and clean hotel. Breakfast is also choiceful and delicious. Staff is kind and helpful. Thanks for the nice stay.

Lagom stort hotell! Varit där många gånger

The review is based on the fact that it is a three star hotel and I think it meet that standard very well. The staff were excellent, always there to help with a smile on their face. My single room was spacious enough with a well planned bathroom that felt quite new. I even had a small sofa with a table which was great. Hotel is located just opposite Scandinavium, Ullevi and Liseberg just around the corner. So if you are going to Gothenburg for an event its a perfect place to stay. It's just two tram stops from central station and about a ten minute walk to the Avenue. The breakfast was very good, not a huge selection but well thought through and I didn't miss anything. The elevator is tiny, and I mean tiny, but it is an old building so not much they can do about it. But good to know if you are travelling with a lot of luggage, you would have to take it up in turns :) Few things needs improvment though, even for a three star hotel: The free wifi was very unreliable, it worked for a few minutes (at the best), then lost contact, worked again, lost contact etc. A bit annoying since I was trying to use my computer but just gave up. And it was like that during my stay for three nights. Also think that in these times more channels on the television than five (all Swedish) wouldn't be to much to ask for. For me it wasn't a problem, but when travelling around the world I always appreciate at least one channel in a language I understand like BBC News especially when wifi is bad.

A lovely stay here! The room we had was beautifully decorated, with very nice toiletries and a really comfy bed. The breakfast is plentiful with lots of choice, and there is free tea, coffee and sweet treats 24/7. There is a comfy area to just sit and watch the world go by, and a basic but tasty restaurant menu, although there are lots of places to eat nearby if you want to go out. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, with friendly staff who keep everything running smoothly.

The breakfast is the best we had so far in Sweden. Especially the homemade biscuits, just love it. Definitely book the largest room type, which has the private sauna room & rooftop. We had an wonderful accommodation experience in Gothenburg.

It was a good stay! The rooms are quite large, and the decor is very expressive. There are paintings everywhere, and I think they're for sale! The breakfast was ok- a good selection of cheese, fruit, and bread. The elevator is rather small- it has a capacity for 2 people at a time, so that's something to keep in mind.

Excellent stay for me & my family of 3 in Goteburg (12 - 15 Aug). Room is spacious and very comfortable (Deluxe room for 3) with many in room amenities (coffee machine, diffuser...). Breakfast excellent quality (bread, cheese, fruits, pastries & nice coffee). Very importantly, the staff were all very helpful (what to see, where & how to go e.g. Nordstan, Liseberg etc). Location of the hotel is also fantastic: walking distance to Liseberg, a MacDonalds opposite the road, tram station/~15 mins walk to Gotenburg central, Haga (old town) & tram/train to South Archipelago

Very Nice hotel. Great location and fresh rooms. The breakfast was really nice!! The staff was very nice and checkin was also easy. Easy to park and drop off bags in front of the hotel. The different dishes in the breakfast was super, especially the mozzarella salad.

Very clean hotel, very friendly staff, with a complete breakfast! Hotel was in a great and central location with very beautiful decor. The only small thing was that the elevator was a bit small, but still perfectly functional! Would go again.

Our stay at Hotell Onyxen was so lovely and comfortable and the staff were really helpful. We had forgotten that breakfast was included and was pleasantly surprised to find the largest and best breakfast spread we've come across on our month long trip with fresh bread, local ingredients, tons of interesting jams, and shockingly delicious tea. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Sweden!
