Bear Track Inn

Great staff - friendly and very hospitable. Lots of things to do at the inn from hiking to fishing to playing one of the several games, or going off site on an expedition. The food was very good. It was nice to just hang out in the lobby enjoying the view, looking for wildlife and chatting with other guests.

Great lodge food and service. Staff was helpful across the board with trip planning and every need Lots of food offerings. Spacious rooms, fun amenities and a vast kitchen and living room. Day trip from here to Glacier Bay National park is a must

The Glacier Bay’s Bear Track Inn is a famous boutique hotel experience in the small town of Gustavus, Alaska in the Glacier Bay Area. The building itself is worth a visit as it is a magnificent log cabin designed and built by the current owner’s father. The lobby is an incredible site to behold, as you can see from the photos I have included. The owners are very familiar with the area and can arrange group or private tours to all the sights in the area. Popular excursions such as Glacier Bay tours and whale watching are great. The best part of the experience might just be the meals which are included in the price of the room. The current chef has cooked at several Michelin star restaurants in New York and the Washington, DC area. We had expertly prepared halibut but the best dinners included wild caught Alaska king salmon and Dungeness crab which were the best I had had. Service is top notch and personal. The owners and staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs. All in all, it was a great experience.

This is a beautiful location - perfect if you want to be away from the crowds and experience the heart of Alaska! Michell and Dave (owners) have created a beautiful space and they and the staff are over the top wonderful! They are super friendly and always looking for ways to make your stay more enjoyable. The rooms are super comfy and the living room space is perfect for just hanging, reading, napping. There are lots of great trails near by, and great expeditions to experience - like whale watching, fishing, kayaking and e-biking! We would highly recommend staying here. The only draw back that had me give this a 4 rating instead of a 5 was the food. We were there for a week and the dinner options were the same 3 protein options each night. More variety would have been great. Breakfast was amazing though, and Rowen’s pastries are to die for!

We stayed here as part of our science of glacier bay trip with steve spangler, jack spangler and john scheerens. It was amazing. Great food, beautiful surroundings and awesome hosts. The rooms were comfy, and lovely. The shuttle service was fantastic. Would recommend 100% if you are here.

We stayed at Bear Track for a week long self-guided fishing trip. The staff here is unmatched,; great people who always help in anyway they can. Property is gorgous with open areas to play cornhole, axe toss, volleyball, hiking etc. Beautiful log lodge and fantastic food; they serve full breakfast & dinner everyday with pro chef. Shuttle service to dock & airport was timely and convenient. 5 stars in every way, HIGHLY recommend.
