Hotel berhampiran Torrey Square, Harris County

I checked in very late - around 8-9pm - and the woman at the counter was extremely friendly and nice. She made conversation with us about our trip and our jobs and told us all the available amenities. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast in the morning was your average hotel breakfast, but had more options than I usually see so close to the end of breakfast time. They did not begin cleaning up breakfast right at the end time, which was nice because they let us keep grazing on what was left before finally taking it away about 20 minutes after breakfast had ended. The vending machines were really cool. There were cheap toiletries in the vending machine that you could buy in case you forgot something at home, and the cola vending machine had ice cold drinks for pretty cheap. I had a great time staying at this hotel and would definitely return if I'm ever in the area again. I've stayed at this brand of hotel (Choice Hotels) before and I've always had a great experience.

Stayed at this holiday inn for 3 days. We checked in on a Thursday evening, the line at the front desk took 20 minutes. When we go to the room we noticed no bath towels or soap in the bathroom. When I called the front desk they said they were out of soap & shampoo and to come down and get towels from the front desk. Which is strange, most hotels would send it to your room. When we made it down to the front desk they said they were out of bath towels and gave us a few hand towels. We ended up having to buy soap & shampoo from a gas station. Then had to chase down the cleaning lady the next morning and beg for some towels. We also met another guest who had their truck broken into overnight and their catalytic converter stripped. When they informed the front desk they said it’s not their problem and to call the police. Also while checking out in the morning we saw a rapid possum running around the parking lot. It was in the same spot going in circles for over and hour (this is the sign of a rapid animal). When I informed the staff they just laughed and said it was not their problem. This could be a significant risk for small children and other guests!!!! We also called down and asked for a late check out as my son was ill with an upset stomach to which they replied “check out is at 11, no exceptions” The wifi was also spotty and the free coffee was either out or tasted horrible. I booked this Holiday Inn thru the IHG site and I am an IHG rewards member. This didn’t make any difference to the staff or in getting better service. At one point I was told they would give me some extra points. However when asked about it during check out they just looked at me like I was crazy. I won’t be staying at any holiday inn ever again!!!

Danial was amazing he helped me get a valuable item left behind. He is the epitome of good costumer service. We had a great breakfast with coffee. I enjoyed the great service offered at the the Hampton Inn Houston.

I normally don't write a review even when it is subpar. But this was beyond subpar. I was thoroughly disappointed with my recent stay at Home2Suites. Initially, when we arrived at the hotel, the first room had a large red stain in the bathroom and the room was not cleaned, which made me wonder how well the rooms were cleaned in this time of COVID. We were then moved to another room. In this room, the Sofa-bed had a tattered pillow, they had not stocked the room with toiletries, and the soap gel mounted to the wall was not filled. When we asked housekeeping if they could refill the soap gel, they replied that they did not have time then and would get to it later, with a very callous attitude. Finally, they had only one cook and would start breakfast a half an hour late because the cook came late. The staff wrapped up breakfast half an hour before the breakfast time ended every single day. In addition, they would reduce the amount of the food they had one and a half hours before the breakfast time ended and would reply that they had run out of food by that time. For everything above, this was the most uncomfortable stay I have ever had in a Hilton. Overall this was not a Hilton experience and hopefully they are reading these subpar reviews and taking action to fix it.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and everything worked. It seems that for business travel is 2022, this has become the ceiling instead of the floor for expectations. Everywhere is understaffed and doing the best they can with who they have. That said, this was close to a pre-COVID experience. Also, there’s a Hilton Home2Suites next door. I stayed there a few months ago - avoid it at all costs. The HGI has an on-site restaurant with good food. It shares a parking lot with PF Changs.
