The people there were very nice. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was nice. Could have used some scrambled eggs but what they had was good. Would stay there again. Was very pleased.

I chose to stay at Red Roof in Hickory because I am working out of town, and our company employees received a discount code. So my wife made me a reservation for 11 nights. After 5 nights of no room cleaning, no sheet change, no fresh towels, or even garbage take out, I inquired at the front desk about their cleaning policy. Nobody was watching front desk, although I could hear someone having a conversation in the back room. The guest in front of me just wanted fresh towels, but after 10 minutes of no help, she gave up and left. I called out ”Hello!” and finally a furious assistant manager came out, and yelled at me that she was on a phone call. I replied that I'd like some clean towels, and asked when I could expect my room to be cleaned. She screamed at me that my room would be cleaned when I checked out. I told her this wasn't acceptable for an 11 night stay, and I'd already been inconvenienced by the fact that my room key never worked. (No exaggeration - every day when I left for work my key quit working and I'd have to go to the office and ask for new key. This assistant manager never apologized for the inconvenience either.) At this point the assistant manager told me I could leave, and she was canceling my reservation! She said if I didn't leave, she would call her manager. This blew my mind because I had not raised my voice to her or been the slightest bit belligerent. She was the one yelling and being unreasonable! So I am now at an Airbnb, and I am still waiting on a refund from Hickory Red Roof to be put on my credit card. I understand Covid has put a strain on companies being able to find enough workers, but this lady takes the cake. Most times I visited the front desk, she would be sitting with a group of friends shooting the breeze instead of doing any type of actual work. She has no hospitality skills, and either needs serious re-training or a new job. I can't imagine a worse person to have representing your business.

Good customer service front desk ladies are great and family oriented I have stayed here a lot and everyone is amazing

My wife and I were on a furniture hunting trip to the Hickory Furniture Mart, and this Property seemed nice and quite close to the Mart. Pictures looked nice, and it seemed a good choice. It was a lousy choice. To begin with, there is no mention anywhere on their website that there is NO ELEVATOR, so guests must muscle their luggage up metal stairs to the second floor. If handicapped, only ground level rooms will do. Unlike most hotels, access from the outside requires a key card to unlock an outer door. Not here. These stairwell access doors not only don't have locks, they are left propped open, allowing anyone to come in off the street whether they are guests or not.In fact, we found two people who clearly weren't guests squatting by an ice machine at the foot of the stairs charging a cellphone. When we got up to the second floor landing, (again, NO elevator) we were shocked to find the clearly marked fire doors on both the left and right had been propped open. Someone had jammed a ball point pen into a hole in the floor to keep the doors open. Housekeeping, to make it easier to move their carts down the hall? We left for a while, but when we came back, they were still propped open, so I closed them. We went out to dinner, and when we came back, they are propped open again. The room was adequate enough for the price, but the experience with the lack of security, the disregard for fire codes, and the really rundown nature of the place means we will NEVER use this hotel again, ever. We have stayed in hotels all across America and Europe. Some are better than others, but you at least can reasonably expect basic security and safety. Not here.

The customer service is good i love that they make it feel like home

This is a great renovated Fairfield Inn, I was well treated as a platinum elite member, our suite was spacious and comfortable. Quiet as well. :) Nice & polite staff! It was a good option and value with Marriott Bonvoy points. Lots of restaurants, stores & services nearby. We used this hotel to visit nearby Charlotte and Asheville, easy drive by car for day trips! Difficult to fault this property. Enjoy!

Spent one night during a business trip. No issues at all from me. Front desk staff very friendly at check-in and check out. Room was clean, Beds were comfortable - no issues, A/C worked, TV worked, and breakfast I would say was very good. I would stay again without hesitation. If I could offer two bits of advice to hotel ownership, bath towels need to be replaced, they were very much on the thin side. Also, maybe a bigger TV in the room, it was a little on the small side but it worked fine and I am not staying in a room based on watching TV so no worries.
