I think for memory this was the cheapest place we stayed at in Iceland. There is a lock on the front door with a pin. We arrived at 3.00pm and couldn't get in or make ourselves heard. By chance another couple arrived and had their phone number so we were let in. We received an email at 7.00 pm that night with the pin number so I think they need to review this process. There was little contact with anyone there; it really was just a case of a bed for the night. The room was clean but quite small. Breakfast was basic but OK. It was only a five minute walk to some very good restaurants specialising in yummy fresh seafood.

By this point in our trip we were used to places sending us emails with entry codes and Guesthouse Mikael was no different. However what was different about this place was that we had a bathroom in our room which was a nice change. As with almost every place we stayed in Iceland they had comfortable beds and pillows. A nice little breakfast in the kitchen area outside our room. The rooms aren't well insulated enough against sound that the first group of people through in the morning made enough noise to wake us up. Great location next to several restaurants, and a small park with a running path and a few sculptures that provided a nice morning walk before we set off driving again.

We were in room 8 on the ground floor and were very pleased with the room and it’s facilities for our one night stay. Parking is plentiful and near the front door. You need a code to get in to the front door and then into your room. The hotel is well situated with at least 5 restaurants within 100m. We had a quiet comfortable nights sleep and were very pleased with the continental breakfast with a wide range of items. We only saw any staff in the morning when breakfast was available but he was very friendly and helpful. The hotel may not look much from outside and the view from our bedroom was just of the local sports centre but we would have no hesitation in staying there again and recommending it.

We spend a nice time in this hotel. The room was not big, but clear and comfortable, good bed, slept like a baby Good breakfast, easy access with the late arrival. Friendly and helpful staff Highly recommend

When we reserved this hotel, we could not find any review in **********. We were a little bit worried. Now we can say that we had a good experience with Hotel Mikael. The hotel sent us the access code for the lockbox the day before our arrival. The check in was easy. Staff was friendly. The room is small but it is clean. The location is great.

We were in island an did a road-trip, including a stay in the hotel Mikael. Both were very friendly and there was also a very cute cat, we think that she’s the housecat of the hostel, very cute! The breakfast was ver good and the mood was always really familiar.

Bella guesthouse a hofn, dotata di cucina e tutte le comodità. ＞stanze non grandissime ma comunque adeguate agli standard.. Stanze al piano superiore un poco scomode per le valigie per la scala stretta.. Stanze pulite e personale cortese e disponibile

In un albergo o in una guesthouse il 50 per cento lo fa l’accoglienza: la guesthouse Mikael, gestita da due simpatici ragazzi sorridenti, parte già con questo bonus iniziale. Aggiungete la posizione perfetta, la stanza abbastanza grande in confronto al prezzo e il parcheggio comodissimo e otterrete una buona sistemazione. Pecca: non c’è l’ascensore. Il check-in è autonomo ma i gestori sono sempre presenti. La colazione in una saletta deliziosa non spicca per quantità ma è più che accettabile.
