PPengguna TetamuWhile not in the cbd this place is so quiet and peaceful.just a 5 minute drive from town but a world away for peace and quiet.the cabins are very comfortable and we had a lovely outlook to the water. The rooms are nicely decorated. While value is similar to staying in motels here you get a quiet and peaceful time. We would encourage visitors to look at these holiday parks for excellent value and a more outdoor experience

PPengguna TetamuWe visited here for our only short break from work, 5 days, with the kids on the school holidays just before school started and discovered that the pool shut at 7.00 pm. We paid premium rates to book this place on school holidays, nearly double the amount that is advertised now. Our main draw card for booking was having access to the pool. We do not have a pool at home and we came from heatwave conditions in Melbourne and was really looking forward to this trip. We were all exhausted from work and school and this was our only time off to spend together as a family and we just wanted to relax by the pool. We placed great emphasis on there being a pool and 7.00pm was way to early to shut down a pool. Most of the advertising of this place is based around the pool and that was the basis of us booking this place. If we had known that the pool shut at 7.00pm I would not have spent a penny here and would rather have gone elsewhere. Very Disappointed !!!

PPengguna TetamuI totally recommend a stay at this amazing B&B. A unique, architect-designed wooden house with beautiful features inside and out, it has views of Bass Strait and is decorated with an extensive, eclectic glory of antiques, collectables, artworks and fun objects. There are four different suites (one being a penthouse) and a large dining/leisure area with balcony seating. I stayed for one night in the “deluxe double room with sea view” which had a four-poster bed (with an electric blanket) and contemporary claw-foot bath amongst other attractive inclusions. I loved the freestanding chandelier-like teelight candle holder (candles supplied), the varied art prints and the snowflake stickers on the windows. The glass between the bedroom and bathroom gave a sense of greater space and there was a furnished balcony with views of the Strait. For a closer look, binoculars were provided! The manager made delicious scones for afternoon tea which were left in the kitchen area along with jam and freshly whipped cream for guests to help themselves. When I checked out the next morning, she insisted I take two of the leftover ones with me. My “kitchenette” - mini-fridge, microwave, toaster and electric jug, with crockery and food supplies - was just outside the suite in what was the “dead end” of a corridor. Washing up could be done in the kitchen a short walk away, although I gather it wasn’t required for guests to do their own. Supplies included bread for toasting and cereal (and fresh orange juice!) but a hot breakfast was also available. The only issue I had was there wasn’t a powerpoint near the small table to connect my iPad and its hub, so I had to improvise a working space (I guess the communal area may have had a more convenient set-up) but I didn’t mind as it was such a pleasure staying in this lovely and interesting place.

PPengguna TetamuThe cottage was spacious - two bedrooms, a kitchen/family room as well as a bathroom with a separate toilet. I would suggest that each cottage ought to have a vegetable knife in addition to the bread knife and meat cleaver supplied. Outside each unit was a table, chairs and a BBQ. TV receptions was dreadful, but the WIFI was perfect. The host, Alex was as helpful as could be, and offered 24/7 access. Donna was friendly and helpful. We travelled with two classic vehicles and were warned that access was not the best. What an understatement - once we left the bitumen and entered the property the road was absolutely atrocious - the road was unmade, rutted and had very large holes along the way to our cottage. My car is low to the ground and although I am a very experienced driver I could not avoid the monstrous holes and did a fair amount of damage to my vehicle. This is a pity, as the cottages are lovely and in a beautiful bush setting. Because of the road I could not recommend Kalimna Woods Cottages, which is sad because the cottages are lovely - clean and comfortable.
