I’ve been to this motel multiple times as a one or 2 night stay when in the area. The usual man wasn’t working today. But the experience was so rude, embarrassing and just won’t even let us go back. The air isn’t on in the room so expect a hot room until it cools down. You go to check out and wait for your deposit of $30. As I wait, the new older man working tells me I destroyed the towels and linens and shower curtain. So my fiancé furious goes to the room where we were, there was a chocolate spot on one washcloth and a little drool on my daughters pillow case. Those all are white and are most likely bleached every wash by the smell. They showed an old strange mark on the shower curtain way up top that looked like nail polish which we didn’t have. It was a late check in for my fiancé and 18 month old daughter who slept in her pack and play. I’ve never not got a deposit back in my life as I try to make sure things are in order. Even after explaining they wouldn’t refund. And they can see in my file I’ve rented jacuzzi rooms and stayed multiple times prior, never any issues. So they won’t get our business anymore… they have a competition up the road with a pool worth the drive.

I love Red Roof. I travel extensively with my dogs and Red Roof has always fit my needs and budget in the past. This location just didn't live up to it. When I made my reservation I requested a ground floor room. When I checked in I was told they had only a single ground floor room but the TV was not working. I figured I would only be using the room to sleep anyway so I accepted it. The front desk staff was very nice and did offer me a small discount for the broken TV. I went to the room (112) and was not able to get the door open, although the light turned green when I scanned the key. I returned to the office for help. They came to the room to show me that the handle sticks and I had to wrench it all the way up and push hard in the short time the light was green. So every single time I needed to enter my room, I had to use both hands to wrench the handle up and to the left and throw my body weight against the door at the same time to get into my room. Often I had to make several attempts to do it correctly. This was a huge hassle especially with having my hands full with dinner or two dogs and trying to get into my room. Also, I woke up on the next morning and realized wires were sticking out of the wall where the smoke detector should be. It was simply missing. I had another problem with the deadbolt popping out while I had the door open and I was unable to move it back in to close the door. I called the front desk and the clerk came to my room to help me with it. Again, the staff was exceptional. She showed me how to release it from the inside by working the handle up and down rather than using the deadbolt lever to move it. She offered to relocate me to a room on the second floor but advised me the TV was also broken in the replacement room. I had no interest in hauling all my things and two dogs upstairs to another room so I just stayed in 112. There was no coffee in the room and when I went to the lobby in the morning the large pot was empty. There was no breakfast included. Pros: The bed was comfortable and clean. Nice cold refrigerator. Microwave in the room. No idea if it worked. I didn't use it. I'm assuming it works and it's nice to have one in a room. Hot water in the shower. Great, convenient location. Safe area. Very responsive and pleasant front desk clerks. Very quiet in the room even with a fully booked hotel. Cons: Faulty door latches and sticky door (This was a HUGE issue for me to literally fight with my door every time I entered the room.) Missing smoke detector. Broken TV. No stopper in the bathroom to allow me to soak in the tub. Shower water pressure was low.. No coffee in room. No breakfast. $94 a night AFTER discount. Hair on the shower walls when I went to take a shower. The hotel is in a great location but next time I'll stay elsewhere. We travel frequently from Toronto to events at the Henry Ford / Greenfield Village and have been staying at this location for over 15 years. Covid border closures kept us (like most Canadians) away the past few years, and during this time we'd heard concerns about safety and quality at this location. Well, we just returned from our third exceptional stay (in as many months) and whatever issues may have existed before, this location has proven again that a true commitment by management and staff to the property and caring about guests safety and security is the sort of thing only guest reviews can truly reveal. There are an abundance of other reasons why we'll continue to return again and again, starting with the remarkable Miss Kay to Freddie and everyone else who makes visiting so special. We love that we can bring even our cherished collector cars with the confidence and convenience of parking right by our room door. The location is excellent, security and oversight unmatched. Thank you to the staff RRI 182 for all your efforts to keep us happy and regularly returning guests!

For the most part room was clean. There was no bath mat in the rest room and hair on the walls of the shower. Nice pool and hot tub. Had to go to the front desk because no towels on the shelve. Convenient to soaring eagle ******.

This is not your typical Red Roof Inn, as soon as you walk through the entrance door you can tell that is a much nicer RRI than one might expect. First off the corridors are all indoor, not outdoor as is the case with many of the old RRI hotels. The lobby is very nicely decorated, sadly though the fitness room is not open due to covid. My room was #216 near the top of the stairs and near the elevator. The room was very clean and featured a king bed, hot tub, and fireplace, although its not needed in August. Large TV and a nice sitting area with a sofa and lounge chair. I think this was a junior suite or something. Would most definitely stay here again. Also to note: this is a quiet neighborhood, I felt very safe here.

This hotel is motel style (no inside hallways and parking right outside your door). This location is fine to stay at on a long road trip, which was my situation; however, it is dingy and only just clean enough. There were dead flies (one which I found in the water reservoir of the coffee maker), mold in the bathroom, wall paper peeling away, and a hair on one of the washcloths. Also, the window lock was broken and the door was difficult to open and close. Despite all of this, the location is just under 10 minutes from the Headlands Dark Sky Preserve and not far from the Macinac Bridge. The price was just under $80 after taxes and fees so it is very doable. Another thing to be aware of is that the free breakfast ends an hour before checkout and is only coffee, apples, and granola bars so it is actually free snacks, not breakfast. Overall, this place is just fine for a single night stay
