I love this hotel I stay here alot for work an it's just amazing could be a Lil cleaner but still over all love the vibe

If you need a place to stay.....keep driving. This was the absolute worst Super 8 Hotel we have ever stayed in. Upon arriving, we needed to use the restroom. We were informed that there were no public restrooms. What hotel doesn't have restrooms in the lobby. When we were given our room card, it was evident that the small envelop that held the card had been used many times before. It has filthy. As we entered the hallway the entire place reeked of cigarette smoke. When we entered the room, I immediately noticed that the bedspread had stains all over it. I took that off the bed only to reveal a blanket that was full of burn holes. We were literally there to sleep, otherwise I would have left. The sheets were clean. I didn't pay too much attention to the bathroom that night. But in the morning when I went to take a shower I discovered that the bathtub was filthy. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The bottom of the tube was black and there were long black hairs everywhere. I turned the shower on as hot as is would go to make me feel better about stepping in, only to see that the bottom of the shower curtain was also black. After showering I reached for a towel. The towel had a hole in it larger than my fist and had 4 large brown stains on it. I used hand towels to dry off. If this hotel had a breakfast, like most Super 8's, I couldn't say because the people checking me in didn't mention it and I definitely wouldn't have eaten there based on the smell of the hotel and the filth in my room. We have stayed in many Super 8's across the country and have never had such a bad experience.

I love Red Roof. I travel extensively with my dogs and Red Roof has always fit my needs and budget in the past. This location just didn't live up to it. When I made my reservation I requested a ground floor room. When I checked in I was told they had only a single ground floor room but the TV was not working. I figured I would only be using the room to sleep anyway so I accepted it. The front desk staff was very nice and did offer me a small discount for the broken TV. I went to the room (112) and was not able to get the door open, although the light turned green when I scanned the key. I returned to the office for help. They came to the room to show me that the handle sticks and I had to wrench it all the way up and push hard in the short time the light was green. So every single time I needed to enter my room, I had to use both hands to wrench the handle up and to the left and throw my body weight against the door at the same time to get into my room. Often I had to make several attempts to do it correctly. This was a huge hassle especially with having my hands full with dinner or two dogs and trying to get into my room. Also, I woke up on the next morning and realized wires were sticking out of the wall where the smoke detector should be. It was simply missing. I had another problem with the deadbolt popping out while I had the door open and I was unable to move it back in to close the door. I called the front desk and the clerk came to my room to help me with it. Again, the staff was exceptional. She showed me how to release it from the inside by working the handle up and down rather than using the deadbolt lever to move it. She offered to relocate me to a room on the second floor but advised me the TV was also broken in the replacement room. I had no interest in hauling all my things and two dogs upstairs to another room so I just stayed in 112. There was no coffee in the room and when I went to the lobby in the morning the large pot was empty. There was no breakfast included. Pros: The bed was comfortable and clean. Nice cold refrigerator. Microwave in the room. No idea if it worked. I didn't use it. I'm assuming it works and it's nice to have one in a room. Hot water in the shower. Great, convenient location. Safe area. Very responsive and pleasant front desk clerks. Very quiet in the room even with a fully booked hotel. Cons: Faulty door latches and sticky door (This was a HUGE issue for me to literally fight with my door every time I entered the room.) Missing smoke detector. Broken TV. No stopper in the bathroom to allow me to soak in the tub. Shower water pressure was low.. No coffee in room. No breakfast. $94 a night AFTER discount. Hair on the shower walls when I went to take a shower. The hotel is in a great location but next time I'll stay elsewhere. Any one of the above issues would be an annoyance, but dealing with all of these issues in one stay just points to poor maintenance and management. The door, smoke detector and d

This is the worst hotel that my husband and I have ever stayed at. When we checked in and got to our room, we found that the room was dirty, the lock to the bathroom door was on the outside of the handle, and our bedroom door leading to the main hallway wouldn't lock. We informed the front desk of this, and they gave us a new room. The new room, aside from a door that actually locked, was worse than the first. The bathtub had clearly not been cleaned, the towels had yellow stains on them, and the chair in the room was broken. Our friends in the room across from ours had hair in their sink, and the window into their room looked as though someone had tried to break into it. Since we checked in late and we couldn't find any other hotels with open rooms nearby, we decided to stay there over night. All of us felt extremely unsafe and uncomfortable. The next morning, we decided to check out and find a different place to stay. We went and talked with the front desk and asked for our money back for the next 5 nights that we originally planned to stay. The man working said his manager wasn't there and that he wouldn't be in until noon, so we decided to wait. The manager never showed up. We complained, and the man working called someone who he said was the owner. He handed my friend the phone, and the owner simply told my friend that he was unable to refund us since we booked through Hotels.com. We would have to go through them to get the refund. We stayed inside the hotel while we called hotels.com about the refund. Hotels.com attempted to contact Hometown Inn, but nobody answered their phone calls. Hotels.com informed us that they would have to send an email to them instead, so we'd have to wait up to 48 hours for their reply. We decided to leave since we wouldn't hear anything back until at least the next day. When the next day came, hotels.com informed us that the Hometown Inn denied our request for a refund, even though the owner told us that Hotels.com was responsible for that decision. Every single time we or Hotels.com has attempted to contact Hometown Inn since then, there is conveniently no manager there. The Hometown Inn gave us a receipt that showed a negative balance since we checked out early, but are refusing to refund us for the nights we didn't use. This has been an extremely frustrating experiences. We paid a lot of money to only stay one night at a very unclean and unsafe hotel. I absolutely will never recommend that anyone stay here.

I went to get a free kind and a clear head and found it there.. The staff was great. Just wish the kept fresh coffee!!

Stayed with my friend and a dog for 3 nights. We booked a two bed room and were put on the second floor. There was no elevator, so it wasn't convenient, but not the end of the world when lugging a cage, bags and the dog up and down the stairs. Check in went fine and they had our room done slightly early. The property is older and the grounds were mostly clean. Some trash here and there. The room was clean enough for an older hotel. The fridge and microwave were clean and worked well. We had plenty of space for luggage and the dog cage, plus a large work desk. The room was lit fairly well when usually these types of rooms aren't. We also had a chair in the corner, so plenty of room for our staff. The beds were firm, and the linens were pretty clean, but a little scratchy. We had a few layers of sheets and blankets which made it nice in the winter time. However, there was only one pillow for one bed and only two for the other. Odd, but we made it work. The Wifi wasn't the best. The bathroom was a bit worn, but clean. We had enough towels, but they were pretty small and scratchy. The tub was a bit old, but everything was in working order. At least the counter top was big enough for all our items. Taking the dog out was a bit tough as there was hardly any grass to walk them. And the little bit you found was slightly trashy. There's a lot around, but it's not very walker friendly. We tried the little diner restaurant next door and it was pretty good. If you need something simple in Farmington Hills, this is good enough.

Arrived at the hotel. The clerk at the front desk was most friendly and helpful. I went up to my room to find it smelled of stale smoke. I found no furniture at all, no night stand, no chairs, not even a phone or alarm clock. It appears as though they are trying to upgrade but, sorry, not at guest's expense. I went back to the lobby and the clerk apologized several times and gave me a different room. It was better but is obvious that this inn has seen better days. When I returned the key to the first room, I got hit on by one of the employees (not the clerk), saying, I could sleep in her bed anytime. Yikes! I' here for two nights. It isn't the end of the world but I surely will not stay in this Red Roof ever again.

We travel frequently from Toronto to events at the Henry Ford / Greenfield Village and have been staying at this location for over 15 years. Covid border closures kept us (like most Canadians) away the past few years, and during this time we'd heard concerns about safety and quality at this location. Well, we just returned from our third exceptional stay (in as many months) and whatever issues may have existed before, this location has proven again that a true commitment by management and staff to the property and caring about guests safety and security is the sort of thing only guest reviews can truly reveal. There are an abundance of other reasons why we'll continue to return again and again, starting with the remarkable Miss Kay to Freddie and everyone else who makes visiting so special. We love that we can bring even our cherished collector cars with the confidence and convenience of parking right by our room door. The location is excellent, security and oversight unmatched. Thank you to the staff RRI 182 for all your efforts to keep us happy and regularly returning guests!

I’ve been to this motel multiple times as a one or 2 night stay when in the area. The usual man wasn’t working today. But the experience was so rude, embarrassing and just won’t even let us go back. The air isn’t on in the room so expect a hot room until it cools down. You go to check out and wait for your deposit of $30. As I wait, the new older man working tells me I destroyed the towels and linens and shower curtain. So my fiancé furious goes to the room where we were, there was a chocolate spot on one washcloth and a little drool on my daughters pillow case. Those all are white and are most likely bleached every wash by the smell. They showed an old strange mark on the shower curtain way up top that looked like nail polish which we didn’t have. It was a late check in for my fiancé and 18 month old daughter who slept in her pack and play. I’ve never not got a deposit back in my life as I try to make sure things are in order. Even after explaining they wouldn’t refund. And they can see in my file I’ve rented jacuzzi rooms and stayed multiple times prior, never any issues. So they won’t get our business anymore… they have a competition up the road with a pool worth the drive.

This is not your typical Red Roof Inn, as soon as you walk through the entrance door you can tell that is a much nicer RRI than one might expect. First off the corridors are all indoor, not outdoor as is the case with many of the old RRI hotels. The lobby is very nicely decorated, sadly though the fitness room is not open due to covid. My room was #216 near the top of the stairs and near the elevator. The room was very clean and featured a king bed, hot tub, and fireplace, although its not needed in August. Large TV and a nice sitting area with a sofa and lounge chair. I think this was a junior suite or something. Would most definitely stay here again. Also to note: this is a quiet neighborhood, I felt very safe here.

Place is cheap and nice, I’m happy that it’s really clean too!
