Homestays di Brighton and Hove

This booking was made months ago & for some reason all Brighton hotels were sky high in price, so we opted for the best bang for buck…. £150 for 1 night B&B. This is not a hotel, it’s a small room above a pub. Really nice area though, but quite a trot to central Brighton (doable for us, but further than we’re used to). Breakfast was a light affair left in the room/little fridge. Mini cereal selections, some fresh croissants, yoghurts, orange juice & some fruit - we didn’t realise this until we arrived & were expecting a full English as per our usual trips away, gutted! 😂 Landlord & Landlady are nice, but the accommodation is looking tired….. stair carpets filthy, stains on room carpets, toilet was ‘interesting’ & we literally thought it was going to explode!!! Upon departure we were told that there was a blockage & a plumber couldn’t be sourced prior to our arrival. We were disappointed, but it was somewhere to rest our heads after a lovely day in Brighton & awesome gig (Kraftwerk) @ The Brighton Centre.

It was a decent stay and at off peak for £80 on a Saturday it’s not too bad. It’s a nice area of town and near to everything whilst still being quiet. The key code system as helpful asyou could come and go at any time and no check in process was needed. The room was a reasonable size but the bathroom was very small and tight. The room gad basic creature comforts like soap, small shower gel/shampoo pots and hot drinks facilities. The overall cleanliness was fine but the extractor fan in the bathroom was very dusty and the shower could’ve been cleaner with some hairs in it. The bed and key hygiene elements were clean though. The floors were quite thin so you could hear neighbours at times and the room could’ve done with a blackout blind really. If it was cheap to stay again I’d consider here, but I wouldn’t pay more than I did given the overall experience as some basics were overlooked as mentioned. Hopefully the feedback is constructive.

Room was really clean and good for the price. Pretty happy with my stay. Only criticism being internal noise from the shared bathroom, and no glasses etc in the room.  Room has all essentials, and served well for a single nights stay for the price. Address was also incorrect on the map. It’s at the court at the top of the street, not #4 as stated.

I was given great and speedy customer service at check-in and check out. The single ground floor room was room clean, quiet, and had a comfy bed. Unfortunately, there was no breakfast on offer, which was stated on the booking platform, but I found an adequate alternative locally. I would visit again when I'm on holiday in the Brighton area next time.

the location is great - near the sea! The weather was great, so we are satisfied. We did not expect more amenities from the hotel, because everything was appropriate for the old city. The owner of the hotel was friendly, even allowed to leave things until the evening. we recommend!

This was the worst hotel a person could stay the is so small the water in the shower keeps coming your personal details are being compromised by the workers at the hotel I was being harassed by the workers who tried numerous times to get in to my room.

Good place to stay… Cant sleep with the noice of Dove in the early morning…Neat and tidy rooms and kitchen facilities.

Great location. Basic but cosy room. Problems when we arrived - Toilet has been used and not flushed. Bathroom door handle didn’t work so bathroom door couldn’t be closed. Shelf in the bathroom cabinet fell off when I opened it. Later that day I also reported toilet being blocked. Toilet was unblocked however none of the other issues were fixed during our stay. Also bathroom ventilator didn’t work as we noticed at night but I didn’t bother to report it.

Easy to book via Trip.com, reasonable price for room with ensuite in great location. I liked the decor and the bathroom. Lovely clean fluffy white towels, good wifi, password clearly indicated, useful blackout blind, HOWEVER, the lights were falling out of the ceiling, bedside lamps were sort of attached to the wall, very wobbly and dusty and the bed was cobbled together from two mismatched divans so that there was a downhill slope towards the head end of several inches. I have never seen anything like it. I slept for an hour or two using the pillows to prop me up, but still woke with all the blood gone to my head so I had to sleep upside down on top of the bed. A bed to sleep in is THE basic requirement for a hotel room, so really guys, install an actual bed!!!!!!

The staff is amazing from a to z, also bed linens and towels are clean like new. The mattress was very comfortable and good quality. The breakfast was very basic English with filtered coffee. But the building is almost falling apart which is a shame. It takes 15-20 minutes in bus A5 or 5 for £3 one way, which is quite handy. The free parking is fairly good and also handy. The cost for a double room was £175 and I believe that was way higher than it should. All I’m saying is that if I would have known, I could get a much nicer hotel for that amount.
