Pros: - Fast check in/check out - Friendly and courteous staff - Walking distance to the beach - Many shops nearby (food & shopping) - Allow take out for breakfast to eat in your room Cons: - Room is quite small, especially if you have many luggages. - Toilet is also very small - Laundry level feels abit unsafe, especially at night - Pool is very small, yet we have to pay $25 amenities per night

The hotel is located within Ala Moana district which is a 15 to 20 mins walk towards Waikiki Beach. Shopping wise it's very near to Ala Moana Mall which houses everything you can possibly want in a shopping mall. The staff are friendly and the service is great too. The hotel room deco is slightly dated but is still perfectly fine. Overall a great stay if you're looking for value for money and great stay in Honolulu.

The hotel, it’s really good location my room was floor 17 is clean nice view from balcony very quiet stuff, friendly and good and professional very good breakfast, the front desk it’s professional staff special the girl her name Cassandra she really helpful and one guy on the front desk Also when a check in I forget his name was good and friendly, I will back again thank you :-)

Wanted to stay on the beach but out of the main area so we chose to stay on the Diamond Head end of the beach.. We splurged for the ocean front room- it was totally worth it. The view was spectacular and in the morning the ocean front balconies are not in direct sunlight yet so you can enjoy your coffee with a view. The place to borrow beach chairs and umbrella was very conveniently located. We appreciated the use of them as we were on the beach daily. The Diamond head end of the ***** is a close walk to great restaurants and poke shops at a more reasonable price.

Had an amazing stay at the white sands for my birthday! Hospitality team was great Izzy and Jericho checked me in and they were amazing! Randy helped us with our bags! Pool was so cool and it truly is an old school Hawaii hotel! Garfield I think his name was also had great service he checked us out! Can’t wait to come back.

Staff is awesome and attentive. Rooms are very clean and housekeeping does a awesome job keeping rooms clean. Stayed in a deluxe room with plates/utensils. Great views of the mountains. Location is great. Just off the main *****, close enough to lots of restaurants and shopping.

Strategically located with popular eateries down the corner, further up and you will hit hyatt and the beach. We had the tunnel view of the beach at the corridor too. The recept is polite and detailed, providing necessities such as toiletries upon request. There's complimentary breakfast too and the spread is decent and awesome - only shortcoming is the hard boiled eggs and strawberry tasting tad sour-ish. There's complimentary necessities to the beach too. The valet is great - polite and efficient. All good.

Second time staying at the SurfJack this year and honestly I’ll never stay anywhere else! It has the best retro vibes and the staff is always top notch! Such an eclectic atmosphere. The evening entertainment is always good. Love the music they play throughout the day as well. Rooms are very nice. I couldn’t ask for anything more.

The elevator at the hotel was down for majority of our stay and We were there for a special occasion so that was disappointing especially when we received zero sincerity when we complained about this. There was no urgency or transparency around when it would be fixed. Additionally our shower only got barely luke warm and there was banging somewhere in the hotel which woke us. Anytime we left our room it took like 20-30 Minutes to get or from our room because you had to wait for the elevator. Then due to only one elevator working, there were signs everywhere that said the limit was 7 people per elevator as to not stress the only one left working. Yet their own staff were not adhering to this, putting customers at risk everytime of being stuck in there and 17 floors is too high to take stairs. We were in the elevator one day with 7 people and two employees still got on, surely they are more than aware of the limit being they are employed there. We had been trying to be patient and tried to wait it out but we had been woken up on multiple mornings to the sound of drilling or something obnoxious above us, no hot water and no proper working elevators and were told our whole stay it was being worked on and nothing was fixed until the end of our stay and none of that is the expectation we paid for prior to arriving there. Multiple times we had to get off the elevator because staff got on making the elevator over capacity. It was shocking on top of everything else happening that week. If we had gotten stuck in there in that heat with that many people it would have been a liability.
