Never EVER under any circumstance should anyone stay in the ‘patio’ room at this hotel. My husband and I had booked a room at this Doubletree that is on Lake Hamilton, naively assuming that a hotel on a lake would not construct a wall that would prevent one from seeing anything other than that wall. When we got to the room and realized how awful this room truly was (as far as a view), I went back to the front desk hoping to get the chance to change our room - happy to pay more for a room that didn’t look out to a wall. Front desk attendant Antonio was rude in explaining that I’d ‘made a contract’ with ******* and therefore there was ‘absolutely nothing’ to be done. Personally I don’t understand why Hilton would not take more money from me to change my room, but Antonio made it abundantly clear that he was not going to be going to any trouble whatsoever to contact ******* or even Hilton for that matter to see what could be done. One of the worst Hilton experiences I’ve ever had. Aside from not offering a completely useless first floor of hotel rooms, it might be a good idea to put Antonio in a non customer facing role. He really didn’t seem to want to be there on a Friday night or even pretend to act like he’d like to help.
