I stopped here one night with friends for my birthday. The hotel is easy to get to, and the location is excellent as it’s located on Broad Street, near Brindley Place which hosts a wide range of bars and pubs. So if you’re visiting Birmingham to have a drunken, night out or a special occasion then this hotel is perfect. There’s also parking on site behind the hotel which is very handy, unfortunately the car park isn’t discounted for guests stopping in the hotel. After waiting in a small queue, we attempted to check in at 14:30 (half hour earlier than check in ‘opens’) we were told the room wasn’t ready. Which wasn’t an issue as they had luggage storage available. We can back to check in at 16:00 and the queue was horrendous. I’ve never seen a queue as big as this to check in for a hotel before. We waited for 20 minutes until we checked in. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. Although there were coffee cups left behind the curtains upon entry. The bathroom was very modern and had a walk in shower. The beds were unbelievably comfy and had plug sockets by the side of the bed which is a massive plus as not every hotel has this. Luckily, it was a quicker process checking out as you can just pop your keys in the ‘express checkout box’. Overall, a comfortable night stay in the heart of Birmingham, unfortunately the check in was horrific.

The toilet is not very sanitary and cannot get in water in the bathroom You have to use a floor mop to push the water back and it takes at least an hour to get the water. I stayed for two nights, but on the first night I found two towels that were quite dirty, so I called them. I asked for two relatively clean towels, but after waiting for 40 minutes, no one changed them, so I took them myself. The staff who answered the phone should have forgotten. Maybe they forgot all the guests' problems while chatting!

Close to Birmingham Colmore Business District, this aparthotel suits both business trips and leisure stays. It offers 108 comfortable and carefully furnished studios and one-bedroom apartments, with a fully equipped kitchen, living area with a flat-screen TV and free WIFI. Breakfast, fitness room, laundry room, snacks and mini bar at reception are also available for our guests.

The location was in a prime spot. Next to all the main shopping and Christmas market areas.
The room was modern, spacious, and very clean. The kitchenette was well equipped for self-catering if required.
The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful.
Although no parking on site, they have a deal with the nearby car park for £5 for 24 hours. The car park was safe and secure, and it was located a few minutes away.
Overall, it was an enjoyable stay. It's definitely a consideration for future trips.

Visually appealing hotel with huge rolls of carpet in the lobby, ground floor drilling going on, and construction going on. Stocking is a standard for hotel rooms. Rather of vacuuming the carpets, there are scuff marks and coffee stains all over the walls. It's a filthy reaction. From the exterior, the hotel appears well-maintained

Best stay in the UK so far, its affordable for families and my stay was very comfortable…the reception was so helpful on EVERYTHING 💙parking was convenient…The amenities 11/10🤩 everything was included dishwasher, hob, pans, spoons, both AC & heater was in the unit…AMAZING💌 and to top it all off being a creative i absolutely adore the attention to detail and design of the place😌↕️ would definitely book another stay with Staycity😊

Stayed here for one night and we stayed in the superior room with the city view, which was really nice as we were on the 18th floor so the view was amazing. The room was clean but the bed and pillows were horrible. The mattress was so soft you would sink into it when laying down, the pillows were the same too, they were really soft and flat and we didn’t get a good nights sleep. Other than that, everything else was fine.

A very pleasant stay in a clean room with decent amenities. The bed was comfy and I didn’t hear noise from other guests, it was good to have blackout blinds too. The location was perfect for my conference and walking distance to the city centre (about 15 mins). The breakfast is decent and there are snacks and drinks available as well.

Location of the hotel was excellent. Parking is £13 for the night on site. Room was clean. The aircon did not work and it’s was so got my partner almost fainted. I called up the manager who came along with the housekeeping. The housekeeping tried to say oh it’s motion sensored and you got to wait 30 minutes or so to come on. I’m standing there looking at her like say what again?! I explained to her nobody has time to wait around for the air con to come on for that long like tia 1994! Even the manager stood there who agreed it was hot. All our food had gone cold. And eventually 30 mins later they moved us to the room next door and from the word go it was so much cooler and the air con was working.. wait for it.. without anybody being there for the “motion a/c” to work. They didn’t do anything about the food that went cold, the inconvenience. Manager did offer to get us drinks but we don’t drink so pointless. He offered to reimburse £13 for parking again not worth it. Overall it was a poor experience but slightly made up for it when we moved room. This is not really the marriot experience and we made the mistake not to use the usual aloft hotel east side who are always 5/5!

Great location, parking is worth staying here for alone but arrive early or pre book to avoid missing out on one of the 50 spaces. Rooms a little tired but clean and functional. TV seems to have a problem with the BBC! Probably one of the best hotels for Utilita Arena. Would stay again.

A lovely basic hotel , does exactly what it needs to do. Plenty of ample secure parking , would recommend parking and arriving at the hotel before the evening when the car park does get busier. Greeted with a warm welcome and given all the information we needed on the hotel, great ground floor location. Booked a twin room which was lovely and spacious, clean , plenty of tea and coffee, plenty of space to hang / store clothes and items, bathroom was lovely , clean , spacious. No issues with noise being next to the mian road. A really nice overall stay at this hotel . And the complementary Hot and continental breakfast cannot be faulted.

PPengguna TetamuEvery member of the Hilton Team we met during our stay were fabulous- receptionist, bar staff, executive lounge team, Brightsmith Restaurant, house keeping, breakfast, concierge - all keen to help, have a pleasant chat and a laugh- yet continue to work and remain professional - very tuned in to guests and the guest experience. A credit to themselves and the hotel. Our room was exceptionally clean and I have to say the bed and pillows were the best I have ever slept in, amazing. The hotel was busy which added to the atmosphere and buzz. Yet the bedrooms were really quiet. In my opinion The Metropole has the edge over other hotels. We stayed here a few years ago and it still has that 'plush' appeal, it is a treat to stay here - it was like coming home and we intend not leave it so long before we return again. Thank you all.

TTashaThere was no parking even though I had emailed ahead of my booking to enquire about it and was informed the sight had parking. Front desk staff were rude and unhelpful. Location was amazing and the room was as described on the booking information. Probably wouldn’t come back.

Even though our room was close to the railway, we did not have any issues when trains passed. Bathroom was a bit cold but it was not a problem. We'd like to thank them for listening to our preferences for the room and their prompt replies.

GGavinGreat old historic building to stay in around 10/15 minute walk from Birmingham New Street train station & Bullring shopping centre. Nice bar downstairs with large beer garden & food available. Tall people will have to be careful of the low beams. Shared bathrooms were clean & looked to be kept tidy.

But the hotel needs a lot of improvements! The breakfast buffet you are left waiting for them to replenish food items , you have to keep asking staff where are the cups for tea as none replaced there was queues because of the location of the toaster, be careful if you ask for water to be replaced in room as I was charged but then got a refund after complaining..the executive room was good but I know the standard rooms are not great. The staff were good but there needs better organisation. The pool area dated and no set time they seem to pick and choose open close times. We had quite a few issues not all mentioned here which we told reception about we was not happy and noticed other customers complaining.. we would not stay again and certainly not 4 star 3 at most .. can’t comment on spa treatments as did not use but looking at the spa I’m sure there are better ones around. Golf course 9 hole in good condition but outside hotel area need tidying up bit scruffy.

JJSTWComfort Inn Location is great, just next to Birmingham New Street train station and within 3 mins walking distance to Birmingham China town, so plenty of restaurants and cafe surround this hotel.
The only downside is the shower area, the curtain was short and water spilling everywhere when take shower.
Overall I would rate 4.0 for Comfort Inn due to excellent location and reasonable price

PPengguna TetamuInteresting hotel The positives - SUPERB location (on New St and clearly an old Railway Co hotel). Wonderful reception, marble halls and stairways. Staff superb too. In nice condition too. Bar was good (if a touch pricey) but i am nitpicking... Room was well decorated and nice bathroom, but stupidly warm with a very noisy radiator - again perhaps nitpicking.. For £170 a night though I would expect more than a standard double bed. Sure it was comfortable, but the bed was lost in the size of the room which could easily have had a bigger bed. I mean, come on, you get a bigger bed in a Travelodge.. We are both 6 foot to 6 foot four and the nights sleep was terrible due to the small bed.. oh, and also bad because of....... ROOM NOISE - we were on floor two facing New Street Station. I had TERRIBLE sleep due to trams, station announcements, delivery mopeds buzzing with deliveroo food, people shouting outside - I used to live in central London and have stayed in cities all over the UK with work.. I KNOW that city hotels can be noisy - but this was crazy - in fact the worst I can remember. At one point in the night I had to check if a window was open. Double glazing badly needed. Breakfast... very nice - but very slow. And charging £3 extra for eggs benedict which was a third of the size of my (included) full breakfast plate is cynical. Checkout - was told we had a discount code for the Grand Central car park at New Street - a nice touch.. got to the car park, went to pay - car park fee for 24 hours is £10.00 (to be expected in a city).. but hey - no worries.. we have a DISCOUNT CODE!!! (the new price? £9.50... Oh how we both laughed...) Still. Nice location. Not worth the asking price though. Nowhere near.

WWanderbustWe had a great time. The pool was my favourite bit. They're doing some work right now, but it didn't disturb our stay at all. Room service was delicious and reasonably priced for room service.

PPengguna TetamuDespite being a clean and comfortable hotel, we are still annoyed over their customer service when we wanted to change our booking as our pet died on our check in date. They would not change our booking. We did not want a refund just to move the booking to a date the following week. They refused.
