Very nice room. Looks like it has just been refurbished. However, the bed was slightly hard and creaked. So didn't sleep brilliantly. Breakfast had a very good selection and was well cooked. However the evening meal was only average and a tendency to be over facing. O.K. for someone with a large appetite. Staff were good and very helpful. Satnav got us in the carpark o.k. but we found exiting wasn't very well sign posted and ended up going round more than once. In the end we had to follow somebody out as he obviously knew the way

I have been visiting Racecourse for the best part of a year. Given that a new work role has taken me away, I felt now was the time to give a final review of a hotel I have so enjoyed staying at. The staff are brilliant. Special shout outs to the lady on breakfast who always sorted my poached eggs (I’m sorry I’m bad with names) the receptionist who sorted the shower head (you’ll know who you are!) and the dapper chap who put up with my colleague Mr Mutch and his lemonade demands. The rooms are consistently good. The mini gym is well equipped. The food is excellent. The EV charging is good (use the 7kw if you are staying!) I have no criticism of this hotel and there is a reason I returned every week for nearly a year. I will miss the hotel and the staff! Unfortunately I assumed all HI’s would offer the same quality and have found this to not be the case. A really credit to the IHG brand.

This little hotel was an absolute find! Set in an archetypal english village, it could have been the setof a Midsomer Murders episode. Only 2 rooms upstairs in what appears to be an Elizabethan pub. The rooms are plenty big enough, clean and the beds comfy. The staff were just fantastic and the breakfast was delish! The floors upstairs are all uneven, but that reflects the buildings age. We would stay again in a heartbeat,
