Mr & MRS Smith Hurley House Hotel

We visited HHH last weekend, as a family of 15, after an emotional, final goodbye to the matriarch of our family. We started with drinks outside in the sun; the outside space is utterly glorious. We then came inside for a long and I admit, rather loud lunch. We were a bit giddy with relief and boy did we eat & drink. The wonderful staff (as always) looked after us with 24/7 attention and always with enthusiasm and a smile. The food was outstanding (we had 2 chefs and 1 could-be chef - all impressed). This day will go down as one of our core memories. Thank you HHH for making so special. PS returned for Sunday lunch 2 days later and another great meal. Book it gets busy.

So I can only say thank you for an amazing lunch outside on the terrace/garden. Impeccably polite and efficient service, incredible menu covering Japanese, Sunday roast, Pizza, Pasta and standard fare. The pictures say it all with a perfect medium rare T bone. We stayed 1.30 to 5.15 pm and never felt rushed. Just the most delightful afternoon which I cant wait to repeat, Thank you. Should also mention the hotel and facilities are immaculate.

It's very rare we get chance to get away without the kids, but we always make sure we have a special night away for our Wedding Anniversary each year. This year we chose the Hurley House Hotel for this occasion. We increased our normal budget this year and chose their best room (room 1), as it was a special occasion. I asked when I booked, if they would kindly be able to add a small touch to the room as it was our Wedding Anniversary, just expecting something little like a small cake / some chocolates / card, but when we arrived, they had exceeded my expectations. They had left us some amazing chocolates with Happy Anniversary written on the plate, two towels folded into kissing swans and rose petals spread all over the bed. My wife was in owe ;-) Even taking all this away, the room itself was amazing. The first hotel room I can say I have been to that honestly looked better in real life than in the pictures (and it looked stunning in the pictures!) Decor was stunning, extremely comfy bed, beautiful roll top bath, lovely powerful shower and a private secluded patio. The staff were all lovely and extremely welcoming. We enjoyed some lovely wine in the bar and had a spectacular meal in their restaurant. Cannot rate this place highly enough. Will definitely be back next year if not before ;-). Many thanks to all the staff for making our stay and Wedding Anniversary so special... Much appreciated !

We were delighted with our stay at the Hurley House. Five star review all round. Everything was spot on from check in to check out. Thank you for making it a memorable stay. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

I have just read the response to our review of Hurley House given we were entirely unimpressed with the behaviour of the bar staff and find it in keeping with exactly what was posted in the 'Fawlty Towers' review we made earlier. The managements' rebuttal is complete fiction and is in no way and accurate reflection on events that afternoon. My wife and are are well know within the Marlow community and anyone that knows us could not fathom us 'yelling' at anyone let alone being rude. The barmaid did indeed drop the tip intended for her on the table; it was no accident. I could in no way point out anyone's 'thick' accent as suggested as that would also be rude. There was no swearing; I am 57 and my wife is 63. People of our maturity just don't act like that described!! I would dearly love to see the CCTV footage showing me 'throwing coins back at her'! Hurley House can't produce it because it is a complete fabrication and would result in grounds for assault. If Hurley House deemed it not important what car we left in (my mistake, forgot we were in the X5!) then why mention it in a rebuttal. The only hateful actions that day were the reserve of Hurley House staff, not my wife or I. We stand entirely behind our review and gladly grant Hurley House their wish that we never return. Removing posts from Trip Advisor just isn't going to happen. What would be the point of the platform if that was the case!!! We are by the way not the only people to leave a review that the management at Hurley House might take exception with.

We tried the Omakases sushi bar within Hurley House Hotel. The sushi experience was absolutely amazing and tasty. There are 2 Sessions at 18.30 & 20.30. It is a priciest treat at £135 pp but we opted for the Dragon 16 course. It only seats six people but it was worth it with the chef freshly prepared each course in front of you. We were so welcomed, I cannot fault the host and sushi chef. We had a wonderful evening getting beforehand for cocktails. We have been in the restaurant too and the menu, services and food are all excellent. It is an exceptional experience for us sushi 🍣 lovers. The Christmas decorations were added bonus and made the place magical. The hotel only has sixteen rooms but each one was a totally 5 star standard.

Another lovely stay at Hurley, from the minute we arrived it was great. The weather was good when we stayed so we were able to sit outside which was lovely. Really nice little touches, so many familiar faces, it is such a fantastic place to relax. Forget the overpriced hotels in nearby, this little hotel really is exceptional. Not only faultless, but way above expectations in every detail and from everyone! A very special thanks to Izabella - from pre-booking emails, to welcoming me on arrival, to remembering the details of why we were in Hurley, to welcoming my sister (staying at another hotel) for the most fabulous and caring breakfast on Sunday morning … Izabella you are the most wonderful human being and professional customer service provider it has been our pleasure to meet. Thank you so much. And as that same standard was replicated by everyone all weekend in every detail … WOW! A very sincere thank you from me!

Every aspect of this hotel stay was spectacular from the pristine rooms — gorgeous bathrooms, lovely comfortable bedding, quality functional furniture, and high-end decor — to the delicious breakfast and wonderful staff, WOW! Great location to visit Highclere Castle. **Hurley House was not open for dinner one evening so we enjoyed The Crown Burchetts Green (located nearby) -- highly recommend
