"We stayed at Hotel Butterfly for three nights during our visit to Zermatt. Overall, the experience was average and there are several areas that could be improved. The rooms were acceptable but not as clean as expected, and the bedsheets had an unpleasant smell. Amenities were very basic only towels and an all-in-one soap were provided. Items such as slippers, moisturiser, and other standard amenities were not available, and there was no fridge in the room. Drinking water was only provided on the first day, although guests can refill water at the ground floor, which we appreciated. Breakfast was below expectations, and the service could be improved. We were not informed that eggs could be ordered until we noticed them being served to another table on our last day. Additionally, items like butter ran out and were not replenished promptly. We hope the hotel will take this feedback constructively and make improvements, as Zermatt is a beautiful destination and guests would benefit from a more comfortable and attentive stay."

"The hotel was in 5 minutes walking from Zermatt train station and it offered free shuttle for check in and out as there was a steep path to the hotel entrance, not good to walk with luggages. I booked 2 bedrooms family suite but only with one bathroom which was the downside. However, the total space of 60 meter sq with a decent living room and a small balcony facing Matterhorn were a plus to the overall stay. There were some minor defects and the staff fixed efficiently. They had an indoor pool, a jacuzzi and a sauna room. I had to mention that the jacuzzi was of high standard and you must go after a day of hiking. So bring your swimming suit. However, please note that in there culture, no clothes are allowed to enter the sauna room and it is in mixed genders. The breakfast buffet was lack of choices. But I had to specially name Mr Fernando, he always welcome us with very good coffee and of course his warm greetings in the morning. Suggestion to the hotel: 1. Stated clearly the number of bathroom/ toilet in the booking details regarding my booking is a 2 bedrooms suite. 2. More choices for breakfast, my family stays 4 nights there. Everyday, the menu is same. 3. The pool was closed at 8pm, will be better if it closes at 9pm as it was rather rush for the guests to use after dinner. Overall, I recommend this hotel to family. I will come back again."

"My stay at this hotel was a wonderful experience! The hotel was priced at 500 euros per night for my room... Personally, I thought it was well worth it! This is because (1) A light course dinner is included (2) Breakfast buffet is included (3) It costs 60 euros round trip & takes about 1.5 hours to climb up here, so you can't get up and down so much and you don't know the weather on the mountain. The mountain railroad ends at 20:00 at night, so from then until morning, the top of the mountain will be monopolized by hotel guests. So, considering all these factors, I thought it was rather a good deal. In fact, I was able to capture the cloudless Matterhorn on my way home after checking out at the very end! So I recommend this hotel"

"Hotel ini mempunyai beberapa jejak sejarah. Ia adalah hotel kabin gunung tradisional, sangat asli. Lokasinya agak jauh dari stesen kereta api Zermatt, tetapi sangat dekat dengan stesen kereta kabel, menjadikannya sangat mudah untuk pergi ke Glacier Paradise. Bilik ini sangat luas dan selesa. Walaupun kemudahannya agak lama, ia mempunyai semua yang anda perlukan. Ia adalah hotel yang sangat selesa. Terima kasih kepada kakitangan kerana menaik taraf bilik kami kepada bilik teres berkembar! Salah satu teres menghadap Matterhorn! Teres lain menawarkan pemandangan sungai. Duduk di atas teres pada waktu petang, makan malam ringkas, menikmati pemandangan gunung dan bunyi air yang mengalir, ia sangat menenangkan. dan! Apabila anda bangun pada waktu pagi, anda boleh melihat matahari terbit keemasan di atas Matterhorn! Sarapan pagi di sini juga sedap! Paling suka croissant mereka. Sangat berpuas hati dengan penginapan ini~"

"A 3 minute walk from the train station right off of the Main Street in Zermatt and a block away from McDonald’s lol. Super clean, super cute room. The bathroom was older but I was fine with it bc it was well maintained and clean. They provided a hot water kettle and cup which I used every morning. They didn’t provide coffee, but the Coop market was down the street so I was able to get the things I needed for breakfast. There is a very mini fridge in the room, big enough for small things. I’m a solo traveler so this room was plenty for me. They do have breakfast from, I believe 7a - 10a. Different types of bread, fruit, yogurts, it’s not an American breakfast so don’t Great location, 3 minute walk to the free bus stop to take you to any of the gondolas. Highly recommended. I’d stay here again."

"Great location! In front of the station. Only 100 m can walk about 1-2 mins from the station. Very kindly and nice staff and owner. Breakfast is good. Room is clean and large. It feel like home with staff. I recommend you to stay in this hotel. If I come back Zermatt again, I’ll stay this hotel again. I’m in Snow storm disaster in Zermatt on 17th-19th April 2025. Once you arrive, you’re greeted by panoramic mountain views in every direction, with the iconic Matterhorn standing proudly in front of you. The setting is perfect for ski-in/ski-out access in winter and stunning hiking trails in summer. Rooms – 9/10 The rooms are cozy, modern, and well-equipped while still maintaining a classic Swiss alpine charm. Many rooms come with Matterhorn views, and waking up to this scenery is an experience in itself. The beds are comfortable, and the rustic wooden decor gives a warm, welcoming feel. Some rooms have balconies, which I highly recommend booking for the full experience. Service – 9/10 The staff is friendly, professional, and attentive. Despite the hotel’s remote location, the service is top-notch, with staff going out of their way to accommodate special requests. From seamless check-in to helpful local recommendations, they make the stay even more special. Dining – 8.5/10 The on-site restaurant serves delicious Swiss cuisine, including traditional dishes like fondue and rösti. The breakfast is generous, featuring fresh bread, cheeses, meats, and eggs cooked to order. The only downside is that, due to the remote location, dining options are limited to the hotel restaurant, but the quality makes up for it. Wellness & Spa – 10/10 The outdoor hot tub with a view of the Matterhorn is an absolute highlight! There’s also a sauna and steam bath, perfect after a day of skiing or hiking. Soaking in the warm water while surrounded by snow-capped peaks is an experience worth every penny. Activities – 10/10 Winter: Perfect for skiing, as the hotel is directly on the slopes. The ski room is convenient, and the access to the Gornergrat ski area is unbeatable. Summer: Incredible hiking trails with direct access to the Gornergratbahn for easy excursions to higher altitudes."

"I had a pleasant stay. Though I had a technical hiccup with the self check-in, the hotel personnel were quick to respond and reacted super promptly. And yes, there's a small balcony that has a nice view to the nature! :)"
