"Fantastic hotel. Luxurious but homely. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff and could happily have stayed longer. Our room, like the whole hotel, was beautifully furnished and decorated, with a very comfortable bed and lovely walk-in shower. The record player was a lovely, quirky touch as well as the pantry! We enjoyed some very nice cocktails in the bar too. The location is perfect and it's just a few minutes walk to the city centre. We loved everything about the hotel and will definitely be back!"

"It's budget-friendly right in the city center. Even though the floor space is tight, leaving minimal room for luggage but overall is still perfect for 2 nites. Recommended & personally, I will come again. :-)"

"A very pleasant stay in Bath, with a great location and excellent staff who made the experience even more enjoyable. The hotel is well located, making it very convenient to explore Bath on foot. Many of the city's main attractions, restaurants, cafés and shopping areas are within easy walking distance, which is especially useful when you are visiting for the first time and want to make the most of your time here. The hotel itself is modern, comfortable and well maintained. It offers a nice balance between being a relaxing place to stay and having everything you need for a city break. What really stood out was the great service from the staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming and professional, making us feel well taken care of throughout our stay. It is always nice when the team genuinely makes an effort to ensure guests have a pleasant experience, rather than simply going through the motions. The combination of a comfortable hotel, convenient location and great hospitality made our stay in Bath very enjoyable. Overall, a good hotel with a great team and an excellent location. A very pleasant experience, and definitely somewhere I would happily consider staying again on my next visit to Bath."

"Attended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful. We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest. The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss. One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go. Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109. "We stayed here during the Jane Austen festival and had a wonderful time! The workers are super friendly and helpful, great to ask any questions about Bath. The place has an old-school style that is so very charming. There’s a bit of wear and tear, but it doesn’t feel dirty or run down at all, just adds to the classic charm of the place. We had the Executive Room with Garden View and it was just lovely! I felt like a princess. The lounge and gardens are also beautiful and fun to take a look at. Just a heads up, if you’re going into the city centre by foot, it’s best to walk down to the centre, bu take a bus up to the hotel. The walk is very uphill. Definitely give this place a try!"

"Couldn’t fault the actual room, even though it wasn’t the room advertised or shown in pic, that was a little annoying. The shower wasn’t very good and the room was very stuffy at night as you couldn’t open windows due to noise outside. The location was amazing and the staff very friendly and helpful. The noise both outside and in the actual hotel were quite annoying with slamming of doors and what sounded like moving furniture above us. We knew there was an issue with noise as we read reviews but we thought we are pretty easy going and can  usually sleep through anything, we even brought ear plugs, but recon you’d need industrial ones to block out all the noise there. Sadly I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend to others,"

"The hotel was immaculate. It just missed a little on housekeeping issues. Bags delivered to wrong room, soap and lotion dispensers not refilled. But overall VG. Dining room in the evening was exceptional. Staff could not have been more attentive. Deserts a little plain. Breakfast good vfm. Staff not at the same standard as night before."

"The staff were really friendly and sweet! The location is good about 10-15mins walk into central town. Our room was well equipped with a dyson hair dryer. The breakfast was also really lovely. The toilet in the room we stayed in was in a little bit of an awkward position or else this would have recieved 5 stars!"
