We booked directly, in January, with the hotel taking up an offer for our March stay. This is a 5 star hotel and we upgraded our room a few days before arrival. The room was lovely with a comfortable 4 poster bed and all facilities as expected. Breakfast was not as we had expected for a 5 star hotel. We had to choose a time to eat, did the earlier people have all the yoghurt? By the time (8.45) we arrived we were scraping the bottom of the deep jar and our cooked breakfast was a meagre portion. The potato cake was very thin, like cardboard, a single thin rasher of bacon and a slice of mushroom. Thank goodness I asked for a grilled tomato! We had to ask for toast that 1st morning. The coffee pot was barely enough for one, we had to ask for more! We had booked to eat in the Vellore Restaurant for my birthday but decided to cancel this, as seemed expensive and breakfast had put us off! So we chose to eat from the bar menu instead, taking the meal in the lounge. Unfortunately the room was pretty cold, we heard other guests complaining about this. Guests can ask for fresh milk to go with the complimentary tea and coffee, but be aware a tiny jug of milk is £6. However the staff were friendly and extremely helpful and the hotel is well situated for the town.

Antes dormimos en Lucknam Park y después en Harwell house. De cv la misma R&Chateaux. Son otra división. Otro nivel. No solo del paisaje y el valor del edificio. El hotel Bath Priory necesita mantenimiento, remodelaciones, instalaciones (mi habitación tenía un “pingüino “portátil ruidoso asomando a la ventana). No quería hacer mucho daño, pero dudé en poner un 3. El baño no estaba del todo limpio (tengo fotos).La recepción es penosa. La cena en el restaurante y el desayuno muy buenos (siempre tardan mucho entre plato y plato pero eso es típico de intentar ser michelin). La piscina separada del hotel y el spa muy poco apetecible. Necesita urgente una reforma

Das Hotel liegt etwas abseits des Zentrums an einer stark befahrenen Straße. Daher sollte man ein Zimmer zum Garten wählen. Dieser ist groß und mit schönen Bäumen bewachsen und bietet einen Pavillon, in dem man verweilen kann. Das Haus stammt aus der Mitte des 19. Jhd. und strahlt ein wenig diese Zeit wider. Die Zimmer sind alle unterschiedlich eingerichtet und nostalgisch gestaltet ohne dabei einem bestimmten Stil anzuhängen. Die Räume sind ausreichend groß und haben schöne Bäder. Die Betten sind bequem, unsere Matratzen waren ziemlich neu..Die Dielenböden sind dick mit Teppichboden belegt. Die Treppen sind eng und der Zimmerzugang bisweilen etwas verwinkelt. Die öffentlichen Flächen sind dagegen sehr klein. Der Aufenthaltsraum, der gleichzeitig als Bar dient, hat zwei kleinere Sofas und fünf Sessel. Bar und Rezeption werden von einer Person bedient. Es gibt diverse Getränke, jedoch kein gezapftes Bier oder Cocktails und Mixgetränke. Der Frühstücksraum ist nicht viel größer und die Gäste müssen in drei Schichten von je 45 Minuten frühstücken. Das Frühstück ist englisch, auf Wunsch vegetarisch oder kontinental, es gib Obstsalat, Yoghurt und Fruchtsäfte. Wir hatten vorgebucht, denn das Hotel war voll (Oktober). Es ist als 5* Hotel klassifiziert, was ich nicht ganz nachvollziehen kann, denn da kann man eigentlich mehr erwarten. Die Zimmerpreise sind gerade noch akzeptabel, wenn man das ohnehin höhere Preisniveau von Bath zugrunde legt.

My Wife and I had the pleasure of stopping here for two nights 21st and 22nd June. Having visited Bath on a great number of times over the past 38 years we have stopped in various types of Accommodation, this was by far the best we have found and will be using again. Although it's a good walk into the City centre there are Four Bus services that more or less go past the hotel. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the beds very comfortable, the breakfast room was in a Conservatory looking out over the rear garden. Breakfast's were served by two very cheerful staff, and the food it's self was extremely tasty and well presented, all in all a fabulous stop.

My friend and I had a fantastic overnight stay. We were warmly welcomed on arrival by reception staff, offered a choice of floors where they had availability, we chose the ground floor. After check in was complete we were given a little ‘winter warmer’ package which contained a lovely little welcome note, candy cane sweets, hot chocolate sachets and packets of tiny marshmallows 😊. We found out the following day that they were the new managers idea and that she had had her children filling the bags for guests, this small personal touch for a chain hotel was so lovely and helped add to our enjoyment. All the staff we met were friendly, professional and a credit to the hotel. Our room was clean, comfortable with a well thought out design, lots of sockets, complimentary toiletries, overlapping curtains that actually blocked out the entire window which meant we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice with a totally separate toasting section with gluten free bread if required. The hotel itself is a 15 minute walk to the city centre/train station but no hills to negotiate so absolutely fine to walk to with wheeled suitcases (car park available too). All in all it was a great place to stay for those want to explore Bath, I’d definitely recommend and would absolutely book again.

Nice clean room, river view, breakfast was full service- eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans, marmite, section of butter, honey and jams as well as yogurts. No cheese and fresh fruit which would have been nice to have. We have a fan in our room and the weather was delightful. We also enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant which- we ordered pork ribs and chicken Ceasar salad(too good as they char grilled the lettuce). Will definitely come back!

This is a very nice, new and clean hotel sitting in the romantic Bath. Outside the window you can see and feel Bath culture. The room is pretty large enough. You can also enough whole day in yhe hotel with plenty of facilities like swimming pool and spa. Hotel also offer a fabulous breakfast and good service in the morning. The only thing that can be improved is there is no parking. You have to park in Charlotte street car park which take you 5min walk. The good thing is the car park is quite big and allow overnight parking while the car park next to hotel only allow few hours parking max.

This is a lovely Villa just on the outskirts of Bath that is well decorated and has 8 Free parking spaces. Our room was on the ground floor with a large tiled bathroom featuring a a wet room type shower . The bedroom was very clean with lots of storage , tea and coffee facilities, a fan if needed and an extremely comfy bed. The Cooked Breakfast option offered is extremely good with cereals ,yoghurts and small pastries also offered in the breakfast room . The Coffee is also excellent .Although this Villa has no overnight caretaker and you have to let yourself in with a keycode , when we had a minor problem the first night it was dealt with straight away. My only negative is where it is positioned and probably only applies if you are travelling alone and wish to walk into Bath . The Villa is on a hill and to get into the town you will have to cross the railway by steep old stone stairs leading to a tunnel and then the bridge (which thankfully is flat). Certainly not pleasant in the dark or if like me you struggle with stairs . We booked an accessible room because of this and were unaware that walking into town would be so difficult . I suggest if you have walking problems that you drive in and try and find a parking space .

We stayed in a triple room and were delighted with the comfort and cleanliness. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing - 2 of us had the full English and 1 had avocado, smoked salmon and poached egg on toast. There was also a selection of fresh fruit, yoghurt, juices, pastries, coffee and tea. All delicious. The location is superb, being very central.

Great location 5 min walk from Pulteney Bridge - lovely terrace overlooking the bowling green and cricket ground towards the Abbey. We had a room in one of the more recent additions to the Bird - whilst this was next to the Bar and terrace it was very quiet and extremely spacious. Fantastic spa bath and large separate shower. Not given 5 stars as the room, whilst really plush did not have a window with a view ( skylight with electric blind) and was quite warm. I’m not in favour of automatically air conditioning rooms, however, this room does need additional cooling. The Hotel are aware of the need for cooling and will no doubt address the issue. Would certainly not stop us booking again - special mention for Caroline and Howard - members of the team you should be proud of.

Lovely hotel that made our journey and evening so much better. Originally booked another hotel but it was so dirty and staff was so rude, had to leave and find an alternative late at night. Attended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful. We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest. The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss. One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go. Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109. This is a lovely Villa just on the outskirts of Bath that is well decorated and has 8 Free parking spaces. Our room was on the ground floor with a large tiled bathroom featuring a a wet room type shower . The bedroom was very clean with lots of storage , tea and coffee facilities, a fan if needed and an extremely comfy bed. The Cooked Breakfast option offered is extremely good with cereals ,yoghurts and small pastries also offered in the breakfast room . The Coffee is also excellent .Although this Villa has no overnight caretaker and you have to let yourself in with a keycode , when we had a minor problem the first night it was dealt with straight away. My only negative is where it is positioned and probably only applies if you are travelling alone and wish to walk into Bath . The Villa is on a hill and to get into the town you will have to cross the railway by steep old stone stairs leading to a tunnel and then the bridge (which thankfully is flat). Certainly not pleasant in the dark or if like me you struggle with stairs . We booked an accessible room because of this and were unaware that walking into town would be so difficult . I suggest if you have walking problems that you drive in and try and find a parking space .

Had high expectations of my stay and it was completely fulfilled and I was impressed. Overall welcome and ambience was just right being professional and sincere. Our bed room, junior suite after upgrading with extra fee, was reasonably sized although the bathroom with the layout of the door made it difficult and slightly dangerous to enter / close behind guest. The spa village was busy but understandable; it felt clean and very updated overall so there was less of a concern on hygiene which is understood can be difficult to maintain standards. The breakfast room, choices and service was fine as expected so it’s worth signing up for. Although by day 2, it was hard fo imagine having another breakfast so possibly having breakfast for one day as an option would be good. Would have liked to have body lotion in bathroom as I had to rely on the one available in the spa village… and with 2 nights stay, toiletries were not replenished … Always a nice welcome when soft drinks / mini bar is complimentary ; although it doesn’t cost a lot to fill a fridge but small gestures like these make guests feel more welcomed Thanks for a great stay; would like to take my 80 year old mum here sometime in future as she would enjoy it tremendously !!

El hotel Bath Priory necesita mantenimiento, remodelaciones, instalaciones (mi habitación tenía un “pingüino “portátil ruidoso asomando a la ventana). No quería hacer mucho daño, pero dudé en poner un 3. El baño no estaba del todo limpio (tengo fotos).La recepción es penosa. La cena en el restaurante y el desayuno muy buenos (siempre tardan mucho entre plato y plato pero eso es típico de intentar ser michelin). La piscina separada del hotel y el spa muy poco apetecible. Necesita urgente una reforma

Great location 5 min walk from Pulteney Bridge - lovely terrace overlooking the bowling green and cricket ground towards the Abbey. We had a room in one of the more recent additions to the Bird - whilst this was next to the Bar and terrace it was very quiet and extremely spacious. Fantastic spa bath and large separate shower. Not given 5 stars as the room, whilst really plush did not have a window with a view ( skylight with electric blind) and was quite warm. I’m not in favour of automatically air conditioning rooms, however, this room does need additional cooling. The Hotel are aware of the need for cooling and will no doubt address the issue. Would certainly not stop us booking again - special mention for Caroline and Howard - members of the team you should be proud of.

We stayed in a triple room and were delighted with the comfort and cleanliness. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing - 2 of us had the full English and 1 had avocado, smoked salmon and poached egg on toast. There was also a selection of fresh fruit, yoghurt, juices, pastries, coffee and tea. All delicious. The location is superb, being very central.

My Wife and I had the pleasure of stopping here for two nights 21st and 22nd June. Having visited Bath on a great number of times over the past 38 years we have stopped in various types of Accommodation, this was by far the best we have found and will be using again. Although it's a good walk into the City centre there are Four Bus services that more or less go past the hotel. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the beds very comfortable, the breakfast room was in a Conservatory looking out over the rear garden. Breakfast's were served by two very cheerful staff, and the food it's self was extremely tasty and well presented, all in all a fabulous stop.

The man I assume is the owner/manger is so nice and helpful. Slept well. Has parking. Close to bus route to travel into the centre. The only things that lost the 5th star was the shower as the water pressure was low so took a while to warm up then not much power to wash with, and the bed was a bit creaky but it is what it is. Will stay there again when visiting bath.
