Review of Onna Resort, Okinawa About me: I’m a frequent flyer to Japan and a long-time fan of staying at villas and resorts across the country. I enjoy discovering different accommodations across Japan. This time, I chose Onna Resort for a relaxing group trip. ⸻ 👍 What I liked: • Spacious resort– Very roomy and comfortable, easily fits 7–8 people. Perfect for families or groups of friends. • Clean and well-maintained – The entire resort was spotless and felt well cared for. • View exactly as shown in photos – Stunning ocean view that matches the listing. Great for enjoying sunrise and sunset. • Beach nearby – A beach is within walking distance. While it may not be the best in Okinawa, it’s still nice for a stroll or quick swim. • Washer and dryer setup – Includes both a washer-dryer combo and a separate dryer, which is especially handy for drying towels and clothes after swimming. • Well-equipped kitchen – Good selection of cookware and appliances for preparing meals. • Private and quiet surroundings – Peaceful setting with no disturbance from other guests. ⸻ 👎 What could be improved: • Inconsistent check-in information – The email offered early check-in, and a staff member via video call said I could check in at 2pm. But when I arrived, another staff said it was 3pm. This communication gap should be addressed. • Missing basic items – No cups or glasses were provided, obviously an oversight by the cleaning staff. • Limited towel supply – Towels are provided strictly based on headcount. Given the proximity to the beach, it would be more convenient to offer a few extra towels without needing to ask. • Limited Coffee Supply - The resort provides coffee bags based on headcount as well, which was insufficient for guests who consume two or three cups daily. A more generous and considerate coffee supply would enhance the experience. • Insufficient tableware – Only two large plates were provided. It would be more practical to include additional small dishes, rice bowls, and condiment plates (e.g. for soy sauce or wasabi), especially for guests who plan to cook. • Lack of basic cooking ingredients – It would be helpful if staple items like cooking oil, salt, and pepper were provided to make meal preparation more convenient. • No power outlets near beds – Most sockets were located low on the wall and away from sleeping areas, making it inconvenient to charge phones or devices overnight. • Weak Wi-Fi signal in places – Internet connection was spotty in some areas of the villa, although it offers several wifi spots within the resort, but still weak

初めて、リッツカールトン沖縄に滞在しました。 クリスマス前なのもあり、エントランス入ると大きなツリーがありとっても素敵でした。 リッツカールトンの好きなところは、大きいホテルなのにも関わらずのんびりと静かに過ごせるところです。 お部屋も広くて本当にゆっくりと時間を過ごせました。 少し気になった点はシャワールームが少し匂う気がしました。

Was impressed by the excellent service provided by Kim at the front desk, she handled our check-in efficiently. The rest of the team were also warm and friendly, and spoke fluent English. Something interesting was a self-serve room where you can get extra amenities like face wash and bar soaps, and also try different types of Okinawan brown sugar. There were lots of board games available so families would probably appreciate that. We truly enjoyed the view from our room as it had a good angle of the sea even though the hotel isn’t located at the beach. The room was huge and even had a freezer and an oven. For longer stays or if you’re visiting the beach often, the washer dryer would come in handy as well. The hotel had two restaurants for breakfast and although the variety was great, with a good mix of local and international cuisine, the quality could be improved. We had lunch on our first day and regretted our decision. Location-wise, the hotel would be better for those who intend to drive as it was quite a walk to the nearest bus stop, and the shuttle bus service was infrequent so we ended up not using it at all. Very clean and tidy house, there is everything you need both kitchen utensils and laundry. Easy to access, smooth CHK in and CHK out. Definitely come here again if we have a chance.

酒店屬於 Airbnb 形色，入住方法需要在前臺 iPad 輸入個人資料之後透過 FaceTime 與工作人員聯繫確認，財會獲取打開入住鎖匙櫃桶的密碼箱，對於電子科技不太認識的客戶這一點可能需要多點時間適應，但整體房間設施也算滿意。 酒店設有免費泊車服務，自駕游絕對方便，停車場就切在大門口對開，所以入住拿行李也非常方便，酒店設有電梯，行李搬運不成問題。

Pros: The rooms were gigantic and equipped with two ACs to keep the room cool. The staff was attentive. The location by the beach is nice. There is a lot of amenities but we weren’t able to use any because we checked in late. They seem to all close really early for some reason. Beds were comfortable and the little shops were super cute. I love the stamp rally that was happening when we were there. Cons: all the amenities closed fairly early. We weren’t able to enjoy them. You need a golf cart to get around which was extra cost. They’re quite pricey and very slow. All the restaurants booked up really quickly. Meaning unless you get there early, you have no choice in dining. We just drove out and got amazing food outside the resort.

It’s an uncomfortable stay. First thing first, the room stink and smells moldy. The toilet fills with the scent from the drain. Most of all, the safety lock of the entrance is broken and no one can fix it. Left me feeling unsafe during bedtime. Asked for a change of room but got rejected. The only good thing is that the receptionist came up to offer help to catch a huge moth in the room. Will not consider to stay over anymore.

It is an apartment-style accommodation (or home-stay) with no formal check-in counter or crew. For those non-Japanese without phone access, it is deemed inconvenient or difficult because calling local number for check-in is required. However the house-keeper was sharp enough to spot us struggling in front of the door via CCTV, he then walked from the building and performed check-in for us. Location is not great, adjacent to a cemetery & with only one 7-11 convenience store accessible on foot (no others shops around).Car parking available free.
