It's in a pretty location, with 7/11 and C Plus around 100 meters away. There's a rooftop bar and restaurant not more than 50 meters away. The hotel is a 20 minute walk to the night markets, which I highly recommend. There are two issues however; There's entrance to the shower is very narrow, a towel rail in a dangerous location. The beds have very sharp corners that jut out from the mattresses. I manged to injure myself. The staff put rubber tape on the corners after my injury. Overall, a good place to stay

Positive : Good location, clean room and size of the room is quite comfortable for family even though you booked standard room. Negative: 1. I booked the room for 2 night but the keycard set for 1 night when I asked staff said its for safety reason. This is the first time I my life to hear this such a thing. They said even guest stay for 10 nights they have to extend key card everyday. 2. Staff at front desk didn't provide any information even for breakfast ticket they gave me just for 1 day. I cant be bothered to ask amd just wanted to leave this hotel. 3. There is no service mind at all for all apart from the Bellman who have outstanding service, this is similar comment I found from previous guest too. 4. I got a call twice after my first night stay , they told me the check out time today in 10 mins then I asked them to check they said sorry in theor system their colleagues mentioned for 1 night only. 20 mins later they called me on my mobile phone and said I have to check out in 15 mins. They make it worst !!! 5. Lastly the simple amenity such as hair dryer they charge 50 bath. Available at reception. 6. This hotel doesn't provide lunch or dinner service even though there is menu in the room. You cannot order. Lastly, I will never come back again.

very good premises, clean and spacious. Wonderful staff. A few spoke English and they were sharp. The shower water temperature could be warmer. Good AC. Good/fair wifi/internet. Gym is spacious, has AC, good lighting, 7am to 9 pm everyday. Has a rack of dumbells max is 12 km. Only one weight machine that needs to be repaired. Two treadmills in good condition, 1 out of order. 2 or 3 stationary bikes. Restaurant serve only buffet breakfast. No lunch or dinner. Room service only from 7am to 2 pm. Small refrigerator. No microwave Owen. No coffee supplied. Highest floor is 4th recommended, quieter, no children running amok above you. No laundry currently available but there is a good automatic laundromat 24/7 available 100 meters from the hotel that makes change and has table to fold dry clothes. All in all a good experience.

Again on this trip, I can't say enough about the cheerful, helpful staff at 100 Islands resort hotel. The building is beautiful with the sound of running water throughout the public spaces. Although near busy roads and close to town the room was so quiet and the bed so comfortable I had the best sleep I've had so far since we've been travelling Thailand! There was no kettle or cups but one was provided as soon as requested (we do love our cuppa wherever we are! 😀). The breakfast was the usual Thai rice and spice. Along with toast and fried eggs which, if you prefer warm we're made to order upon request. The only disappointment was the swimming pool which, although situated in what was a beautiful tropical jungle scene, looked a bit iffy for swimming as there were understandably leaves and bugs on the surface. There was an outdoor pool which looked very inviting on the lobby camera but was unfortunately closed.

I loved it there. Got a single king bed. The a/c and balcony was great. I was able to wash my clothes and hang dry. It was clean and spacious.

Great value for money, spacious and clean rooms, with no hot water but it's okay because it's hot enough there. Old facilities but in okay condition, there are small eateries outside. The people at reception are lovely but the lady cleaning the rooms seems from the middle age, no responding to thank you or hello.

A great new hotel (been open 3 months apparently). For the price we paid, it was great value for money. Super clean. Access to a good fully equipped gym a 2 min walk away. A nice pool. Even had free bananas and biscuits in the lobby. Has a few quirky things but they don’t impact anything. Friendly service. I would stay there again if I come to Surat Thani. A 25 min walk or a 4 minute drive to the night markets (20 baht each in a pick up truck or ~70 baht grab taxi)

A Fading Gem with a Fantastic Breakfast The Wang Tai Hotel feels like a grand dame from a bygone era. Walking into the lobby, you can see it was once a truly luxurious place, and that sense of scale and history is still there. However, it's clear the hotel is in need of a bit of a makeover. While everything is clean, the decor and some furnishings feel a little tired and dated. That minor point aside, our stay was very pleasant. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, always going out of their way to assist us. The breakfast, however, was a wonderful and unexpected highlight! Instead of a standard buffet, it's ordered a la carte from a menu. Don't let that worry you the range is huge, covering both Thai and Western options. Everything we ordered was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. It felt more like a restaurant experience than a hotel breakfast. The large swimming pool is a major plus – perfect for a refreshing dip and lounging in the sun. The location is also very good, making it a convenient base for exploring Surat Thani. In summary, if you can look past the slightly worn edges, The Wang Tai Hotel offers incredible value, spearheaded by a stellar breakfast, great pool, and excellent service. A little refurbishment would easily make this a 5-star experience again.
