Hotel Villa Durrueli Resort & Spa

We have visited villa durrelli for 15 years. This was our first time in winter. As always the hotel was welcoming and friendly. The room was an adaqute size. Enough storage for our short stay. It was immaculately clean. The bed and bedding comfortable. There is tv ,wifi and tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast has good choices and presented nicely. The staff are the hotel’s biggest asset.

We got one of their best rooms with the view. room's walls are paper thin. The balconies have a view but no privacy the curtains had to be kept shut all the time. we could hear the guy next door clearing his throat and cough every morning 6 am. and he snored at night. then a couple with kids and baby moved in and we could hear their conversation and their baby crying all night long. people from the top floor restaurant had direct view into our room and our balcony. overall a terrible place and not relaxing or romantic at all.

We had booked a room with garden view and could actually see the castle from our bed. It was the most amazing view. The location very quiet, next to a park. Breakfast was also very good and plenty. Location great, between the port and the castle. many restaurants in walking distance. the spa facilities were very tired. the steam room only reached 32 degrees and there was no steam to be seen. spa facilities could also have been a bit more hygienic. There was a restaurant with roof terrace (where we could have got a welcome drink) and we were first told it opened at 19.00. We got there at just after 21.00 to find the terrace closed and nobody there to receive us. the next day we were told it opened at 20.00 which was too late for us to have dinner. So in the end we never got to go on the terrace. Since the free access to the spa was a bonus, this did not affect our enjoyment of the hotel

What an excellent hotel! The facilities are very good - say 4 out of 5 - but the restaurant, and more importantly the staff are absolutely 5 out of 5. Every member of staff was so helpful and pleasant. It probably helped that we ate at the restaurant on the first night and so got to know the wait staff. But after that they were our unofficial tour guides and gave us good tips on places to visit etc. The restaurant is expensive, but with good reason

The hotel very modern, clean and welcoming, rooms are of a good size with good views, well at least ours was with views over looking the pool and the old fort. The pool is lovely with a really good pool bar, plenty of beds and friendly staff. We felt that the jacuzzi area was tired one was not working and covered over, the other was only part working with many of the jets not working. The breakfast was very good quality and served to your table by very friendly staff. The hotel has it’s own roof top restaurant which we dined at during our stay, the food and service was of the highest standard, and whilst more expensive than other local restaurants, the food was high quality and the restaurant is well worth at least one visit.

Having read the other reviews, maybe we had a lucky experience in that I can honestly report that we had no issues…the room, service, pool, etc were as expected…and the location of the hotel is perfect to hit the best parts of Ischia. The breakfast was good, although the service around same seemed unnecessarily formal. Really couldn’t fault the hotel on this occasion, and hopefully that’ll be the experience when/if next visiting Ischia.
