My wife, daughter, and I stayed here for one night in March 2024 prior to boarding our cruise from Jacksonville the next day. As I review the hotel, I would say that I have mixed feelings about our stay. There were some things that worked well and others that didn't. In terms of things that worked well, first, some of the staff members were very nice. Rochelle's name, in particular, comes to mind. The two gentlemen running the courtesy shuttle were also very polite and helpful. Second, what worked well for us was its location and proximity to the airport. The hotel is also conveniently located to I-95 so the next day when we were traveling to the Jacksonville cruise port terminal, it was an easy ride getting to I-95 without getting stuck in too much traffic. Third, the courtesy shuttle. We were able to get a ride from the airport to the hotel on Sunday evening when we landed without much delay and then again on Monday afternoon when we needed to get lunch at a nearby restaurant. What did not work as well: The biggest complaint that I would have had about the place was that it doesn't have a full-scale restaurant affiliated with it even though the online description seemed to suggest that there is one such. The ”restaurant”, if one can call it that, is a small bistro that is only open for a few limited hours in the day. It is not open for lunch and even when it is open for breakfast, it only has a handful of options to choose from. Furthermore, the overall arrangement at the bistro wasn't great. The gentleman who took my breakfast order was not to be seen for several minutes after I placed my order and so when I wanted to get a croissant for my daughter, I just picked one up with every intention of pointing that out to him later on when he emerged from inside. However, when he re-emerged, he pointed out to me that I should have paid for the croissant ahead of time, whereas I (obviously) meant to pay for it once he emerged. In any event, my interaction with the person staffing the bistro on Monday morning left a sour taste in my mouth. The second less-than-positive aspect about my stay was that not all of the receptionists were as welcoming as Rochelle had been the night before. One of them (Nicole?) did help us get a later check out at 2 p.m. (we had already pre-booked an option that let us check out at 1 p.m.) and so while that accommodation for a delayed check out was appreciated, she - and the other receptionist - who were there on Monday afternoon were not as friendly as I would have liked. Again, not a biggie, but it is the kind of thing which prevents me from giving the hotel a 5/5. All in all, would I stay here again if I needed to? Yes absolutely, especially if proximity to the airport was important but I would be particularly mindful of the fact that the hotel does not have an in-house restaurant.
